The assembly according to claim 2, wherein each of said mating members is positioned on said rear surface of said front wall, each of said mating members being positioned adjacent to a respective one of four corners of said front wall, each of said mating members having an exposed surface with respect to said rear surface of said front wall wherein said exposed surface is configured to engage the support surface having said indicia being exposed.

    5. A cardboard box assembly having a removable cover wherein said removable cover is configured to be displayed on a support surface, said assembly comprising: a box being comprised of a corrugated cardboard material wherein said box is configured to be filled with products or produce for shipping, said box including a lid portion being removable from said box for accessing an interior of said box, said lid portion having indicia being printed thereon comprising an logo of a company, said box having a front wall and a top wall, said front wall having a forward surface and a rear surface, said front wall having a plurality of perforations extending through said forward surface and said rear surface, said plurality of perforations extending around an entire perimeter of said front wall to define said lid portion, said front wall being tearable away from said box along said plurality of perforations; and a plurality of mating members, each of said mating members being coupled to said lid portion, each of said mating members being configured for engaging a support surface extrinsic to said box wherein said lid portion is configured to be displayed on the support surface for ornamental purposes, each of said mating members being positioned on said rear surface of said front wall, each of said mating members being positioned adjacent to a respective one of four corners of said front wall, each of said mating members having an exposed surface with respect to said rear surface of said front wall wherein said exposed surface is configured to engage the support surface having said indicia being exposed.

    6. A method for employing a lid of a cardboard box as a wall display, the steps of the method comprising: providing a box having a lid portion, said lid portion having perforations thereby facilitating said lid portion to be removed from said box; providing a plurality of mating members, each of said mating members being positioned on said lid portion; printing indicia on said lid portion; removing said lid portion from said box along said perforations; and placing said lid portion on a support surface having each of said mating members engaging the support surface for displaying said indicia.

    Description

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0017] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new cardboard box device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

[0018] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the cardboard box assembly 10 generally comprises a box 12 that is comprised of a corrugated cardboard material. In this way the box 12 can be filled with products or produce for shipping. The box 12 includes a lid portion 14 that is removable from the box 12 for accessing an interior of the box 12. Moreover, the lid portion 14 has indicia 16 printed thereon comprising a logo of a company or any other preferred image or words.

[0019] The box 12 has a front wall 18 and a top wall 20, and the front wall 18 has a forward surface 22 and a rear surface 24. The front wall 18 has a plurality of perforations 26 extending through the forward surface 22 and the rear surface 24. Moreover, the plurality of perforations 26 extends around an entire perimeter of the front wall 18 to define the lid portion 14. The front wall 18 is tearable away from the box 12 along the plurality of perforations 26. Additionally, the top wall 20 has a pair of hand slots 27 extending therethrough to define a grip for carrying the box 12.

[0020] A plurality of mating members 28 is each coupled to the lid portion 14. Each of the mating members 28 engages a support surface 30 wherein the lid portion 14 is configured to be displayed on the support surface 30 for ornamental purposes. Each of the mating members 28 is positioned on the rear surface 24 of the front wall 18 and each of the mating members 28 is positioned adjacent to a respective one of four corners 32 of the front wall 18. Each of the mating members 28 has an exposed surface 34 with respect to the rear surface 24 of the front wall 18 to engage the support surface 30 having the indicia 16 being exposed. Each of the mating members 28 may comprise an adhesive strip, hook and loop fasteners or any other type of releasable fastener. Additionally, as is most clearly shown in FIG. 4, each of the mating members 28 may have a protective sheet 36 that is removably positioned on the exposed surface of the mating members 28.

[0021] In use, the front wall 18 is removed from the box 12 along the perforations 26. The front wall 18 is positioned against a support surface 30, such as a wall or other similar support surface 30. Moreover, the each of the mating members 28 engages the support surface 30 to retain the front wall 18 on the support surface 30. In this way the front wall 18 is retained on the support surface 30 for displaying the indicia 16.

[0022] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0023] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
