Abstract
There is provided an apparatus for affixing buttons to garments. Buttons have been around for many years and are still a very common mechanism for the closure or attachment of garments. Buttons can be either damaged or break loose from its threaded bonding source requiring replacement. There is provided an apparatus for affixing a button to a garment's fabric using a circular disk with two prongs. When circular disk is aligned with the button holes, the prongs extend from the lower side of the circular disk and is manually pushed through the button hole openings piercing the garment fabric and extending through the underside of garment. The two prongs extending through the button and garment are bent inwardly to create a cohesive bond. The underside of the circular disk abutting the top of the button is coated with adhesive inhibiting movement or slippage of the button from the circular disk.
Claims
1. An apparatus which comprises: a. a circular disk; b. the circular disk having a plurality of downwardly projecting prongs adaptable to fasten buttons for attachment to a garment.
2. An apparatus according to claim 1 wherein underside of said circular disk is coated with adhesive material to create an instant bond with upper surface of button being attached to the garment.
3. An apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said prongs are forcibly pushed through garment fabric and pinched in an inwardly directed recess until engaged said parts.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0028] Referring now in detail to the drawing figures, wherein like reference numerals represent like parts throughout the several views, one embodiment of the apparatus constructed according to the present disclosure is illustrated generally in FIG. 1. The apparatus in the illustrated embodiment is a flat rigid circular disk 1 of necessary circumference from which two protracted parallel prongs 3 extend from the underside of the rigid circular disk 1.
[0029] Now referring to FIG. 1A, the flat rigid circular disk 1 with the two protracted parallel prongs 3 of the apparatus are sufficiently spaced to align and intersect the button 2 via two button holes 4 of the button 2.
[0030] FIG. 2, The flat rigid circular disk 1 when adjoined with a button 2 becomes a single article 6.
[0031] Now referring to FIG. 3, The near flat rigid circular disk 1 with its two protracted parallel prongs 3 extended is aligned to the button 2 and pushed through the button 2 two button hole 4 openings.
[0032] FIG. 4, The near flat rigid circular disk 1 adjoins itself to the top of the button 2 using an adhesive bonding material.
[0033] FIG. 5, The two protracted parallel prongs 3 of the apparatus is comprised of a suitable durable and pliable material able to pierce the garment fabric 5. The near flat rigid circular disk 1 with its two protracted parallel prongs 3 and button 2 penetrate the garment fabric 5 top creating an aperture in the garment fabric 5 and exiting the garment fabric 5 bottom exposing the two protracted parallel prongs 3 extending through the bottom of the garment fabric 5.
[0034] Now referring to FIG. 6, The near flat rigid circular disk 1 adjoined with the button 2 as a single article is conjoined at the top of the garment fabric 5.
[0035] Now referring to FIG. 7, while the near flat rigid circular disk 1 and button 2 rests on the top of the garment fabric 5 its two protracted prongs 3 are sticking out from the bottom of the garment fabric 5.
[0036] FIG. 8, the two extended protracted prongs 3 thrusting from the bottom of the garment fabric 5 are bent or pinched upward facing one another to create a secure and tight clench of the garment fabric 5 to the underside of the flat rigid circular disk 1.
[0037] Various other embodiments of the present invention are contemplated as being within the scope of the filed claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter regarded as the invention.
[0038] While preferred embodiments have been shown and described, it will be understood that it is not intended to limit the disclosure, but rather is intended to cover all modifications and alternate methods and apparatus within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
