Abstract
The present flow regulating valve relates to devices for regulating the flow parameters of working media and can be used in equipment in the gas, oil, chemical, power, metallurgical and coal industries. The present flow regulating valve comprises a housing with a regulating element having inlet and outlet pipes with through passages and movable and immovable regulating teeth having a streamlined shape and terminating in a taper, wherein the size of the angle of the tapered portion is defined as 360/n, where n is the number of movable teeth. What is novel is that each tooth has an independent actuator, the immovable teeth have a cross section in the shape of an isosceles triangle, and the regulating zone has a cross section in the shape of a multi-point star. This design provides excellent characteristics in terms of response time and the overall weight of the structure, which is particularly relevant in the case of regulators having a cross-section diameter of 500 mm or more.
Claims
1. A flow regulating valve comprising: a body with a control element having an inlet branch pipe and an outlet branch pipe with passage openings and with movable and fixed regulating teeth; the regulating teeth being having a stream-lined form and ending with a wedge having an angle of the wedge determined as 360/n, where n is a number of the movable teeth, wherein each movable tooth has an individual actuator, fixed teeth have their cross sections in a shape of isosceles triangles, and wherein a control zone has its cross section in a shape of a multi-point star.

[0020] The flow control valve contains body 1 with inlet and outlet branch pipes 2. A control element is installed in the body having movable teeth 3, each of them having an individual actuator 4, and fixed teeth 5 having the shape of isosceles triangles in their cross sections. As a result of such arrangement, the flow throttling zone 6 has the shape of a multi-beam star.

[0022] By the action of individual actuators 4, movable teeth 3 move on fixed teeth 5; as a result of this movement, control of the flow is realized due to variation of the passage section area (or throttling zone) 6. Operation of actuators 4 is synchronized by means of certain devices not described herein.
[0023] Implementation of the flow control valve with independent actuators of movable teeth allows: [0024] 1. When diameters of passage section exceed 500 millimeters, to make this arrangement independent on mechanical parts of the actuator which are large both in weight and overall dimensions; [0025] 2. Speed of performing of control actions is significantly higher than that at the mechanical transmission of movement, which is also especially actual at large diameters of the passage section.
