Abstract
A valve of a drive unit of a motor vehicle, having a valve housing that is thermally decoupled from a motor housing. Components of an electric-motor drive and of a transmission that are arranged in the motor housing are thus protected against thermal loads. The valve can be manufactured inexpensively and has a particularly small installation space.
Claims
1.-9. (canceled)
10. A valve configured to control exhaust gas or fresh air in a drive unit of a motor vehicle or generator, comprising: a valve housing having a duct; an adjustable valve body configured to open or close a flow cross section of the duct; and an electric-motor drive configured to adjust the adjustable valve body, wherein the duct is thermally decoupled from the electric-motor drive.
11. The valve as claimed in claim 10, wherein the electric-motor drive forms a structural unit together with a transmission.
12. The valve as claimed in claim 10, further comprising: a motor housing in which the electric-motor drive is arranged; and an insulator arranged between the motor housing and the valve housing.
13. The valve as claimed in claim 12, wherein the motor housing and the valve housing each have mutually opposite flanges and the insulator is configured to space the flanges apart from one another.
14. The valve as claimed in claim 12, wherein the insulator is manufactured from plastic.
15. The valve as claimed in claim 12, wherein the insulator has at least one ring element configured to space the duct apart from the electric-motor drive.
16. The valve as claimed in claim 15, wherein a wall thickness of the at least one ring element is smaller than a height of the at least one ring element.
17. The valve as claimed in claim 13, wherein the motor housing and the valve housing are connected to one another via a transverse support arranged at a distance from the flanges and the transverse support has an insulator.
18. The valve as claimed in claim 12, wherein a drive shaft is fastened to the adjustable valve body and protrudes into the motor housing, the drive shaft is manufactured from a thermally poorly conductive material.
19. The valve as claimed in claim 18, wherein the drive shaft is plastic.
Description
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0015] The invention permits numerous embodiments. To further illustrate its basic principle, one of these embodiments is illustrated in the drawing and will be described in the following text. In the drawings:

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENTLY PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0018]
[0019] In an embodiment that is not illustrated, the valve 7 may also be arranged in the feed duct 3, 4 that conducts fresh air or conducts fuel.
[0020] Electric current generated by the drive machine 2 is supplied to a control device 8. The control device 8 is connected to an on-board electrical system (not illustrated) of the motor vehicle. The electric-motor drive 6 of the valve 7 is supplied with electric current via the control device 8. Arranged between the valve 7 and the electric-motor drive 6 is a transmission 9 having a position sensor 10. The position sensor 10 detects the position and thus the function of the valve 7.
[0021]
[0022] The electric-motor drive 6 is arranged in a motor housing 15 together with the transmission 9 shown in
[0023] Thus, while there have shown and described and pointed out fundamental novel features of the invention as applied to a preferred embodiment thereof, it will be understood that various omissions and substitutions and changes in the form and details of the devices illustrated, and in their operation, may be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit of the invention. For example, it is expressly intended that all combinations of those elements and/or method steps which perform substantially the same function in substantially the same way to achieve the same results are within the scope of the invention. Moreover, it should be recognized that structures and/or elements and/or method steps shown and/or described in connection with any disclosed form or embodiment of the invention may be incorporated in any other disclosed or described or suggested form or embodiment as a general matter of design choice. It is the intention, therefore, to be limited only as indicated by the scope of the claims appended hereto.
