Abstract
A footwork training mat of present invention is provided to assist the basketball players to improve their basketball skills such as dribbling, footwork, movement, positioning, and generally providing crucial accountability by practicing over the footwork training mat equipped with its non-skid under layer for optimal efficiency and safety. According to one embodiment, the footwork training mat of present invention includes a top surface divided into four quadrants, wherein each quadrant of the mat further includes various shapes strategically arranged to help the user to improve their basketball skill by practicing over the footwork training mat.
Claims
1. A rectangular footwork training mat is comprising of: a top surface divided into a four training areas or a quadrants, wherein each of the quadrant further includes a plurality of shapes strategically arranged by embossing or imprinting within the quadrants; and a bottom surface having texture of various shape protruding out of the surface to prevent the rectangular footwork training mat from skidding while in use by a user.
2. The rectangular footwork training mat of claim 1, wherein the plurality of shapes within each of the quadrant includes a square frame made of L-shaped frames at vertices, a first circle within the square frame, a cross hair within the first circle, a rectangle beside the square frame and the second eccentric circles within the rectangle.
3. The rectangular footwork training mat of claim 1, wherein the top surface further includes a main circle at the center.
4. The rectangular footwork training mat of claim 1, wherein the mat is made of a multiple layers of same or different materials by gluing together.
5. The rectangular footwork training mat of claim 4, wherein the multiple layers is made of a flexible material to enable the user to roll the mat when not in use.
6. The rectangular footwork training mat of claim 1, wherein the multiple layers are made from any of a Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), rubber or PU leather.
7. The rectangular footwork training mat of claim 1, wherein the plurality of shapes and a border lines of the plurality shapes are made of various colors to visually distinguish each shape of the plurality of shapes.

[0016] According to one embodiment, the invention provides training mat or more specifically footwork training mats for basketball players or community. The footwork training mat of present invention is primarily intended to serve the basketball community to improve numerous skills such as to train their pattern of footwork by the maneuverability of their weight distribution, length and width of their feet and leg placement in relation to the footwork training mat.
