Abstract
A device includes an insulated reaction chamber, light sources above a stirring module, the light sources surrounding the reaction chamber, and holders containing reaction vessels, the holders configured to fit within the insulated reaction chamber in a manner that enables an even distribution of light between the reaction vessels.
Claims
1. A device comprising: an insulated reaction chamber; a plurality of light sources above a stirring module, the plurality of light sources surrounding the reaction chamber; and a plurality of holders containing reaction vessels, the plurality of holders configured to fit within the insulated reaction chamber in a manner that enables an even distribution of light between the reaction vessels.
2. The device of claim 1 wherein the insulated reaction chamber includes a thermostated fluid.
3. The device of claim 1 wherein the stirring module is a magnetic stirring module.
4. The device of claim 1 wherein the insulated reaction chamber is transparent to ultraviolet (UV) light.
5. The device of claim 1 wherein the insulated reaction chamber is transparent to visible light.
6. The device of claim 1 wherein each of the plurality of light sources is independently controllable.
7. The device of claim 1 wherein each of the plurality of light sources comprises a specific light spectrum centered to a main wavelength.
8. The device of claim 1 wherein each of the reaction vessels comprises a cap configured to impeach light to leak from the reaction chamber while enabling reaction sampling.
9. The device of claim 8 wherein the cap comprises: a top portion having a central circular membrane; an inner wall; and an outer wall.
10. The device of claim 9 wherein the inner wall is configured to secure directly to the reaction vessel.
11. The device of claim 10 wherein the outer wall is configured to lean on the holder and block light leakage.
12. A system comprising: a photoreactor having an inlet and an outlet to enable introduction of a thermostatic fluid into an insulated reaction chamber; a reservoir of thermostatic fluid; a heat exchanger; and a heater/chiller unit, the reservoir of liquid linked to the photoreactor and the heat exchanger, the heat exchanger linked to the heater/chiller unit.

The system of claim 12 wherein the photoreactor comprises: a plurality of light sources above a stirring module, the plurality of light sources surrounding the reaction chamber; and a plurality of holders containing reaction vessels, the plurality of holders configured to fit within the insulated reaction chamber in a manner that enables an even distribution of light between the reaction vessels.
14. The system of claim 13 wherein each of the plurality of light sources is independently controllable.
15. The system of claim 14 wherein the outlet is linked to a first three-way valve, the first three-way valve linked to a pump and the reservoir of thermostatic fluid, the first three-way valve configured to empty the reservoir of thermostatic fluid or the insulated reaction chamber.
16. The system of claim 15 wherein the pump is linked to a second three-way valve, the second three-way valve linked to the reservoir of thermostatic fluid and the heat exchanger, the second three-way valve configured to fill the reservoir of thermostatic fluid or the insulated reaction chamber.
17. The system of claim 16 wherein the inlet is linked to the heat exchanger through a flow control.
