Abstract
A furniture barrier apparatus for preventing items from getting beneath furniture includes a barrier body having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending therebetween forming a body cavity. The barrier body is flexible such that it can be shaped to match a profile of a furniture item and a height of the sidewall is configured to fit securely between an underside of the furniture item and the floor. A filling is coupled to the barrier body within the body cavity. A pair of end loops coupled to the barrier body, the pair of end loops being coupled to the first end and the second end and is configured to selectively engage a pair of back feet of the furniture item.
Claims
1. A furniture barrier apparatus comprising: a barrier body, the barrier body having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending therebetween forming a body cavity, the barrier body being flexible such that it can be shaped to match a profile of a furniture item, a height of the sidewall being configured to fit securely between an underside of the furniture item and the floor; a filling coupled to the barrier body, the filling being coupled within the body cavity; and a pair of end loops coupled to the barrier body, the pair of end loops being coupled to the first end and the second end and configured to selectively engage a pair of back feet of the furniture item.
2. The furniture barrier apparatus of claim 1 further comprising a plurality of medial loops coupled to the barrier body, each medial loop being configured to selectively engage a pair of front feet of the furniture item.
3. The furniture barrier apparatus of claim 1 further comprising a plurality of engagement members coupled to the barrier body, each engagement member comprising a female engagement component coupled to the barrier body and a male engagement component, the male engagement component being configured to be secured to the underside of the furniture item.
4. The furniture barrier apparatus of claim 3 further comprising each engagement member being one of, but not limited to, a hook-and-loop fastener, snaps, adhesives, or the like.
5. The furniture barrier apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the filling being a plurality of beads.
6. The furniture barrier apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the filling being batting.
7. The furniture barrier apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the sidewall having a flat bottom side and a rounded top side.
8. A furniture barrier apparatus comprising: a barrier body, the barrier body having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending therebetween forming a body cavity, the sidewall having a flat bottom side and a rounded top side, the barrier body being flexible such that it can be shaped to match a profile of a furniture item, a height of the sidewall being configured to fit securely between an underside of the furniture item and the floor; a filling coupled to the barrier body, the filling being coupled within the body cavity; a pair of end loops coupled to the barrier body, the pair of end loops being coupled to the first end and the second end and configured to selectively engage a pair of back feet of the furniture item; a plurality of medial loops coupled to the barrier body, each medial loop being configured to selectively engage a front foot of the furniture item; and a plurality of engagement members coupled to the barrier body, each engagement member comprising a female engagement component coupled to the top side of the barrier body and a male engagement component, the male engagement component being configured to be secured to the underside of the furniture item, each engagement member being one of, but not limited to, a hook-and-loop fastener, snaps, adhesives, or the like.
Description
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0017] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
[0018] As best illustrated in
[0019] A pair of end loops 34 is coupled to the barrier body 12. The pair of end loops is coupled to the first end 14 and the second end 16 and is configured to selectively engage a pair of back feet 36 of the furniture item. Each end loop may have a neck portion 38 and an open head portion 40. A plurality of medial loops 42 may be coupled to the barrier body 12 around the sidewall 18. Each medial loop 42 is configured to selectively engage a front foot 44 of the furniture item. The end loops 34 and the medial loops 42 may be elasticized. A plurality of engagement members 46 may be coupled to the barrier body 12 to further secure the apparatus 10. Each engagement member 46 comprises a female engagement component 48 coupled to the top side 24 of the barrier body and a male engagement component 50 configured to be secured to the underside 30 of the furniture item. Each engagement member 46 may be one of, but not limited to, a hook-and-loop fastener, snaps, adhesives, or the like.
[0020] In use, the pair of end loops 34 is engaged with the pair of back feet 36 of the furniture item 26. The barrier body 12 is placed between the underside 30 of the furniture item and is wrapped around each exposed side of the furniture item 26 to prevent items from going beneath the underside 30.
[0021] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0022] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word comprising is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article a does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
