    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0018] In the following description, for purposes of explanation and not limitation, specific details are set forth such as particular architectures, interfaces, techniques, etc. in order to provide a thorough understanding of the present invention. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced in other versions that depart from these specific details. In other instances, detailed descriptions of well-known devices, circuits, and methods are omitted so as not to obscure the description of the present invention with unnecessary detail.

[0019] Unless otherwise defined, all technical terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which the invention belongs. As used in the specification and the appended claims, the singular forms a, an, and the include plural references unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Any reference to or herein is intended to encompass and/or unless otherwise stated.

[0020] Systems and methods according to embodiments of the present disclosure may provide a physical or electronically displayed deck of cards for managing a physical workout session. Generally, the deck of cards is configured to randomly present exercise movements and associated reps based on a preselected body muscle group.

[0021] FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a version of the deck of cards 10 according to a version of the application. The fitness card system and method is based on the popular format of playing cards, namely, the cards consist of a suit and denomination D.sub.n within the suit. For example, the denominations would include ACE (1), 2-10, Jack (11), Queen (12), and a King (13) (D.sub.n . . . D.sub.13) for each suit, namely, Spades, Clubs, Diamonds, and Hearts (S.sub.s, S.sub.c, S.sub.d, S.sub.h). In the version, the deck of cards comprises a first card group 12 and a second card group 14, each set having unique gameplay instructions.

[0022] In certain versions of the fitness card system, the deck of cards 10 comprises at least a first card group 12 and a second card group 14, each dictating a type of card format for presenting an exercise movement 16 to the participant during a workout session. With reference to FIG. 2, generally, in an embodiment, the first group set 12 format provides a set of exercise movements 16 and reps 18 based on a plurality of muscle groups 20 shown on the card. For example, in the illustrated version, the first card group 12 comprises the cards A (1), 2, and 3 (D.sub.1 . . . D.sub.3 or first range of card denominations) for each suit, spade, club, diamond, and heart (S.sub.s, S.sub.c, S.sub.d, S.sub.h). In the first card group 12, each card having a similar card denomination A (1), 2, 3, etc. among the suits displays identical exercise movements 16 thereon for each muscle group 20. Thus, each Ace (1) will list identical exercise movements 16 and reps 18 for each muscle group 20 and each 2 will list identical exercise movements 16 and reps 18 for each muscle group 20. It is noted that the number of reps 18 do not correlate with the denomination D.sub.n of the card within the first card group 12.

[0023] With reference to FIG. 4, a version of the formatting of the first group set is shown. Each individual card lists each muscle group 20, an exercise movement 16 for each muscle group 20, and the number of repitions 18 for each exercise movement 16. The card denomination D.sub.n, regardless of suit, determines the movements and reps on the card.

[0024] FIG. 3 depicts a box diagram illustrating the second card group 14 of the deck of cards 10 having a second format for presenting exercise movements 16 to the participants during a workout session. Generally, in an embodiment, the second card group 14 format provides a set of movements 16 based on a plurality of muscle groups 20 shown on the card. For example, in the illustrated version, the second card group 14 comprises the cards 4-10, Jack (11), Queen (12), and King (13) (D.sub.4 . . . D.sub.13 or second range of card denominations) for each suit, namely, spade, club, diamond, and heartv (S.sub.s, S.sub.c, S.sub.d, S.sub.h). In the second card group 14, each card having the same suit S, namely, spade, club, diamond, and heart (S.sub.s, S.sub.c, S.sub.d, S.sub.h), provides an identical exercise movements 16 for each listed muscle group 20. Thus, each Spade Ss will list identical exercise movements 16 for each muscle group 20 and each Heart S.sub.H will list identical exercise movements 16 for each muscle group 20. However, importantly, and unlike the first card group 12, each second card group 14 card denomination (D.sub.4 . . . D.sub.13) determines the amount of repitions 18 for each exercise movement 16 listed on the card.

[0025] Thus, with reference to FIG. 5, a version of the formatting of the second card group 14 is shown. Each individual card lists each muscle group 20 and exercise movement 16 correlating with each of the muscle groups 20 displayed thereon. The card denomination D.sub.n determines the number of repetitions 18 for each exercise movement 16 displayed thereon.

[0026] With reference to FIG. 6, in a version of the fitness card system for managing a workout session, a method of utilizing the deck of cards may comprise the following steps: [0027] deck of cards is shuffled; [0028] participants elect a muscle group from the plurality of muscle groups; [0029] participant sequentially selects cards from the deck until physically exhausted or there are no remaining cards to select from, for each card selected: [0030] if selected card is from the first card group, participant performs the number of repetitions of the movement displayed on card associated with the elected muscle group; or [0031] if selected card is from the second card group, participant performs the number of repetitions dictated by the card denominations of the movement displayed on card associated with the elected muscle group.

[0032] Reiterated, first, the deck of cards 10 is initially shuffled prior to starting the session. Thereafter, participants elect what muscle group 20 they will be working on for the day or period. As illustrated, in FIG. 4-FIG. 6, each card in the fitness deck of cards lists the muscle groups 20 consisting of CHEST, LEGS, BACK, ARMS, and SHOULDERS. Thus, for example, if CHEST is selected for the day, the participant will do the movement listed under CHEST for each card that is selected from the deck.

[0033] Once the muscle group 20 is elected, the participants will select and flip a first card to reveal the exercise movement 16 and repitions 18. In accordance with the formats described above, if the first card selected is in the first card group 12, the exercise movement 16 will be dictated by the denomination D.sub.n on the card. The number of repetitions 18 for that specific exercise movement 16 will also be listed in association with the exercise movement 16 directly on the card. In other terms, if the selected card is from the first card group 12, the participant performs the number of repetitions 18 of the exercise movement 16 displayed on card associated with the elected muscle group 20. Once the movement on the first card is completed by the participant, a second card will be selected and flipped over. If the card is from the first card group 12, the format of the movement will be displayed according to the aforementioned; however, if the card is from the second card group 14, the card movement will be dictated by the suit S of the card and the number of repitions 18 will be dictated by the card denomination D.sub.n. Thereafter, the process of selecting, flipping, and performing the exercise movement 16 is repeated until the participant is exhausted or the preselected amount of cards is exhausted.

[0034] Although the present disclosure and its advantages have been described in detail, it should be understood that various changes, substitutions and alterations can be made herein without departing from the spirit and scope of the disclosure as defined by the appended claims.

[0035] Moreover, the scope of the present application is not intended to be limited to the particular embodiments of the process, machine, manufacture, composition of matter, means, methods and steps described in the specification. As one of ordinary skill in the art will readily appreciate from the disclosure, processes, machines, manufacture, compositions of matter, means, methods, or steps, presently existing or later to be developed that perform substantially the same function or achieve substantially the same result as the corresponding embodiments described herein may be utilized according to the present disclosure. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to include within their scope such processes, machines, manufacture, compositions of matter, means, methods, or steps.
