    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0013] FIG. 1 illustrates a front perspective view with the front panel of the reel housing removed, cord extended, and brass ring detached to show the details of the invention, in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.

[0014] FIG. 2 illustrates a front perspective view with the reel housing opened and cord extended, in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.

[0015] FIGS. 3A-B illustrate a side and rear view with the cord retracted, in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0016] The present invention is a non-magnetic retractable ID badge holder. Referring to FIGS. 1-2, the retracting mechanism comprises a circular, flat, non-magnetic steel clockspring 10 that is housed in a plastic reel casing 14. The cord 11 will be wrapped around the spring inside the casing, allowing for retracting and extending capabilities from the housing. The retractable cord 11 will allow for the resting position of the holder to hold the attached ID badge right below the reel casing.

[0017] As best seen in FIG. 2, the small brass ring 11 is inserted at the edge of the plastic casing to allow the cord 12 to pass through with ease and to prevent damage, such as fraying, to the cord that may occur with regular use. A plastic clasp 13 is attached to the opposite end of the cord for attaching ID badges.

[0018] FIGS. 3A and 3B show a clip 15 formed on the back of the reel housing to allow the user to clip the holder onto articles of clothing, pockets, or belt loops. The loop at the top of the reel housing 14 allows for a band 16 to be attached, permitting the user to wear the holder around their neck.

[0019] The non-magnetic steel clockspring 10 may be made from any flexible non-magnetic metal. The reel housing 14 may be made of any lightweight material as long as it is non-magnetic. The brass ring 11 may also be made of any non-magnetic metal. The cord 12, plastic hook 13, band 16, and clip 15 may be made with any other lightweight materials as long as they are non-magnetic.

[0020] It is to be understood that the present invention and descriptions are not limited to the embodiment and drawings as described above, but also encompasses any and all embodiments within the scope of the following claims.
