Abstract
A flippable toilet footrest has a first foot platform on a first side, the first foot platform having a toilet contour; a second foot platform on a second side, the second foot platform having a toilet contour; wherein in a first position, the first foot platform has a first height, and in a second position, the second foot platform has a second height. Therefore, a user may adjust the height of the footrest by flipping the footrest from one foot platform to the other.
Claims
1. A flippable footrest, comprising: a first foot platform, the first foot platform comprising a first toilet contour; a second foot platform, the second foot platform in an intersecting plane with the first foot platform, the second foot platform comprising a second toilet contour; a first cuboidal leg and a second cuboidal leg supporting the first and second foot platforms, each cuboidal leg comprising a void in the center thereof; wherein when in a first position, the first foot platform is substantially horizontal and has a first height, with a first side of each cuboidal leg adjacent to a floor; and wherein when in a second position, the second foot platform is substantially horizontal and has a second height, with a second side of each cuboidal leg adjacent to the floor, the first foot platform and first side of each cuboidal leg in a substantially vertical position.
2. The flippable footrest of claim 1, wherein the second height is less than the first height.
3. The flippable footrest of claim 1, wherein each cuboidal leg is fastened to the first and second foot platforms via threaded fasteners.
4. The flippable footrest of claim 1, wherein the first and second foot platforms are coupled together at an obtuse angle.
5. A flippable footrest, comprising: a first foot platform; a second foot platform coupled directly to the first foot platform at a ninety-degree angle or greater; a first leg having four sides on a first side of both foot platforms; a second leg having four sides on an opposite, second side of both foot platforms; wherein when in a first position, the first foot platform is substantially horizontal and has a first height; and wherein when in a second position, the second foot platform is substantially horizontal and has a second height that is less than the first height, the first foot platform being substantially vertical.
6. The flippable footrest of claim 5, wherein the four sides of the first leg circumscribe a void and the four sides of the second leg circumscribe a void.
7. The flippable footrest of claim 5, wherein the first platform comprises a toilet contour.
8. The flippable footrest of claim 5, wherein the second platform comprises a toilet contour.
9. The flippable footrest of claim 5, wherein when in the first position, a first leg side and a second leg side extend downwardly from the first foot platform to a third leg side, and the second foot platform is in a substantially vertical position.
10. The flippable footrest of claim 9, wherein when in the second position the third leg side and a fourth leg side extend downwardly from the second foot platform to the first leg side, and the first foot platform is in a substantially vertical position.
11. The flippable footrest of claim 10, wherein the second side of each leg is fastened to the second foot platform via threaded fasteners, and the fourth side of each leg is secured to the first foot platform via threaded fasteners.
12. The flippable footrest of claim 5, wherein the first and second foot platforms are coupled together at an obtuse angle.
13. The flippable footrest of claim 5, wherein the first and second foot platforms are coupled together at least at a ninety degree angle.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EXAMPLE EMBODIMENTS
[0021] The following descriptions depict only example embodiments and are not to be considered limiting of its scope. Any reference herein to the invention is not intended to restrict or limit the invention to exact features or steps of any one or more of the exemplary embodiments disclosed in the present specification. References to one embodiment, an embodiment, various embodiments, and the like, may indicate that the embodiment(s) so described may include a particular feature, structure, or characteristic, but not every embodiment necessarily includes the particular feature, structure, or characteristic. Further, repeated use of the phrase in one embodiment, or in an embodiment, do not necessarily refer to the same embodiment, although they may.
[0022] Reference to the drawings is done throughout the disclosure using various numbers. The numbers used are for the convenience of the drafter only and the absence of numbers in an apparent sequence should not be considered limiting and does not imply that additional parts of that particular embodiment exist. Numbering patterns from one embodiment to the other need not imply that each embodiment has similar parts, although it may.
[0023] Accordingly, the particular arrangements disclosed are meant to be illustrative only and not limiting as to the scope of the invention, which is to be given the full breadth of the appended claims and any and all equivalents thereof. Although specific terms are employed herein, they are used in a generic and descriptive sense only and not for purposes of limitation. Unless otherwise expressly defined herein, such terms are intended to be given their broad, ordinary, and customary meaning not inconsistent with that applicable in the relevant industry and without restriction to any specific embodiment hereinafter described. As used herein, the article a is intended to include one or more items. When used herein to join a list of items, the term or denotes at least one of the items, but does not exclude a plurality of items of the list. For exemplary methods or processes, the sequence and/or arrangement of steps described herein are illustrative and not restrictive.
[0024] It should be understood that the steps of any such processes or methods are not limited to being carried out in any particular sequence, arrangement, or with any particular graphics or interface. Indeed, the steps of the disclosed processes or methods generally may be carried out in various different sequences and arrangements while still falling within the scope of the present invention.
[0025] The term coupled may mean that two or more elements are in direct physical or electrical contact. However, coupled may also mean that two or more elements are not in direct contact with each other, but yet still cooperate or interact with each other.
[0026] The terms comprising, including, having, and the like, as used with respect to embodiments, are synonymous, and are generally intended as open terms (e.g., the term including should be interpreted as including but not limited to, the term having should be interpreted as having at least, the term includes should be interpreted as includes but is not limited to, etc.).
[0027] As will be discussed below, the flippable footrest disclosed herein solves the need for a toilet footrest that is easily adjustable to different heights so as to accommodate users of all sizes and medical needs.
[0028] In one embodiment, as shown in
[0029] The first foot platform 102 and the second foot platform 104 may be manufactured from a variety of materials, including plastics, woods, fiberglass, metals, and any other material suitable for supporting the legs of a user while using the toilet. The first foot platform 102 and second foot platform 104 may be of a single manufacture or may be two separate components joined together. The foot platforms 102, 104 may be at a 90-degree angle to one-another, but may also be at an obtuse (as shown in
[0030] Referring now to
[0031] In one method of use, a user would place the toilet footrest 100, 200 near the base of a toilet. In a first position, a user would sit on the toilet and rest their feet on the first foot platform 102, 202. If the user desires a different height, the user may simply flip the toilet stool 100, 200 to the second position (i.e., rotate and spin) and place their feet on the second foot platform 104, 204. As appreciated, the user is able to quickly and easily change the height of the toilet footrest 100, 200 for their use while on a toilet without needing tools and without requiring disassembly or reassembly of components. Therefore, the toilet footrest 100, 200 described herein solves the need for a toilet footrest that is easily adjustable to different heights so as to accommodate users of all sizes and medical needs.
[0032] While the forgoing examples are illustrative of the principles of the present invention in one or more particular applications, it will be apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art that numerous modifications in form, usage and details of implementation can be made without the exercise of inventive faculty, and without departing from the principles and concepts of the invention. Accordingly, it is not intended that the invention be limited, except as by the claims set forth below.
