Likewise, a reasonably broad scope for claimed or covered subject matter is intended. Among other things, for example, the subject matter may be embodied as devices and methods of use thereof. The following detailed description is, therefore, not intended to be taken in a limiting sense.
[0019] The word exemplary is used herein to mean serving as an example, instance, or illustration. Any embodiment described herein as exemplary is not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over other embodiments. Likewise, the term embodiments of the present invention does not require that all embodiments of the invention include the discussed feature, advantage, or mode of operation.
[0020] The terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting of embodiments of the invention. As used herein, the singular forms a, an and the are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms comprises, comprising,, includes and/or including, when used herein, specify the presence of stated features, integers, steps, operations, elements, and/or components, but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, integers, steps, operations, elements, components, and/or groups thereof.
[0021] The following detailed description includes the best currently contemplated mode or modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention will be best defined by the allowed claims of any resulting patent.
[0022] The following detailed description is described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, specific details may be set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the subject innovation. It may be evident, however, that the claimed subject matter may be practiced without these specific details.
[0023] The present invention is directed to a bed assembly for pets, in particular to a temperature-controlled bed assembly that can protect a pet from extreme temperature conditions including the hot and wintry weather. The pet can be any animal known to a skilled person as a pet and particularly includes the dogs and cats. The bed assembly provides a comfortable surface to a pet for relaxing and sleeping. Referring to
[0024] The bed assembly may further include a control panel 135 that can for setting the desired temperature. For example, the control panel may have a small display showing the set temperature. A pair of buttons for setting the desired temperature, wherein one button increases the temperature while the other decreases. The control panel may also allow the user to activate either of the heating unit or the cooling unit. The control panel can mount on the outer side of the frame, such as it is accessible to a user. Alternatively, the control panel can connect to the control unit through an extended wire. The control panel can also be wirelessly connected to the control unit, for example, through Bluetooth.
[0025] The bed assembly may further include a pressure sensor 140. The pressure sensor 140, also referred herein as the weight sensor can detect the presence of the pet on the bed, the bed formed by the frame. The pressure sensor 140 can be mounted on top of the frame, maybe below the beddings. The top surface of the frame can include covers and cushions for the pet. Such cover and cushions are known in the art for bedding of pets. Moreover, the top side of the frame is having multiple apertures for receiving the conditioned air from the temperature control unit 110. These apertures can be continued with the cushioning on the bed. The pressure sensor can be configured below the cushioning and over the top surface of the frame. The pressure sensor can be calibrated according to the weight of the pet, thus avoiding any false signals.
[0026] The bed assembly may also include a temperature sensor, for example, a room thermometer can be used. The temperature sensor can be used for taking the temperature of the room. Such sensors are known in the art for sensing the temperature of a room. The temperature sensor can couple with the control unit, wherein the control unit can receive the temperature readings from the temperature sensor. The control unit upon receiving the temperatures can automatically control the temperature control unit to activate either the heating unit or the cooling unit. For example, the control unit upon detecting that the room temperature is too high can activate the cooling unit which can then provide cooler air to the bed. Alternatively, the temperature sensor can also be embedded in the bedding, thus detecting the temperature of the bedding. Based on the temperature of the bedding, the control unit can activate the temperature control unit to bring the temperature of the bedding within the predetermined range of the temperature.
[0027] The bedding assembly may also include a scent diffuser 150, which may also enclose in the frame. The scent diffuser may provide essence that can be both pleasant and mask the odor of the bedding. The scent diffuser may include distinct essences, wherein one or more essences can be interchangeably used. Alternatively, the user can select the desired essence. Else, the control unit can also decide the essence to be used. The control unit may also include a network circuitry 155 for connecting to an external network.
