    DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0035] The following description of the embodiments of the present invention is merely exemplary in nature and is in no way intended to limit the invention, its application, or uses. The following description is provided herein solely by way of example for purposes of providing an enabling disclosure of the invention, but does not limit the scope or substance of the invention.

[0036] In FIG. 1, a spinning device 11 having a spinning unit of a textile machine is illustrated, which spinning unit is designed as an air-jet spinning unit 1 (the textile machine is not shown here). A strand-shaped fiber material (not shown here) is conveyed toward an inlet opening of a spinning nozzle by means of an output roller pair of a drafting system 3 of the spinning device 11, said output roller pair being arranged upstream of a spinning nozzle of the air-jet spinning unit 1 in the spinning direction, and said fiber material is suctioned or sucked in by the spinning nozzle by means of vacuum.

[0037] A spinning hood 2 of the spinning device 11 in an operating position is arranged in the area between the drafting system 3 and the air-jet spinning unit 1. The spinning hood 2 separates a spinning space around the inlet opening from the surroundings, the spinning hood 2 lying against the drafting system 3 and the air-jet spinning unit 1 all around for this purpose, without impeding the feeding of the fiber band from the drafting system 3 into the inlet opening.

[0038] The spinning hood 2, which is shown in the operating position in FIG. 2 and in a removal position in FIG. 3, has a hood basic body 4 and a flap-shaped locking element 5, which is pivotably connected to the hood basic body 4. In the operating position of the spinning hood 2, the locking element 5 is arranged in its locking position, in which the locking element 5 forms a closed-off hood together with the hood basic body 4. In the locking position, arresting elements 6a, 6b on the locking element 5 are in engagement with corresponding sections on the air-jet spinning unit 1 and the drafting system 3 and thus lock the spinning hood 2 in the operating position on the air-jet spinning unit 1, an indentation 9 on the locking element 5 ensuring unhindered feeding of the fiber band into the air-jet spinning unit 1.

[0039] In order to remove the spinning hood 2 from and install the spinning hood 2 on the spinning device 11, the locking element 5 can be brought from its locking position shown in FIG. 2 into its removal position shown in FIG. 3, relative to the hood basic body 4, via an intermediate open position. In the removal position, the arresting elements 6a, 6b are disengaged from the spinning device 11 so that the spinning hood 2 can be removed and installed. Furthermore, the locking element 5 opens access to the spinning space, via which maintenance and inspection work can be performed. In the open position between the locking position and the removal position, the locking element 5 is still pivotably coupled to the hood basic body 4 by means of a rotary joint. In this preferred embodiment example, the rotary joint is formed by a semicircular detent recess 12 and a complementary detent bolt (not visible), the detent recess 12 (as shown in FIG. 3) being arranged laterally on the locking element 5 such that the detent recess 12 protrudes toward the hood basic body 4 and the associated detent pin being arranged on a corresponding inner face of the hood basic body 4. In the detent-connected state, the locking element 5 can be pivoted about the detent bolt in order to pivot the locking element 5 between the locking position and the open position.

[0040] In order to positionally secure the locking element 5 on the hood basic body 4 in the locking position of the locking element 5, detent bodies 8 in the form of round protrusions are arranged on tabs 11 protruding from a rear side of the locking element 5. In the locking position, the detent bodies 8 are arranged in correspondingly designed detent marks 7 on the hood basic body 4 and thus secure the locking position of the locking element 5.

[0041] In order to move the locking element 5 from the locking position into the removal position, the detent bodies 8 can be actuated on the outside so that the tabs 10 are elastically bent and the detent bodies 8 exit from the detent marks 7. Alternatively, a pressure sufficient for moving the detent bodies 8 out of the detent marks 7 can be applied to a suitable point on the locking element 5.
