    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0028] The present invention will now be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings in which exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown. However, the invention may be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the representative embodiments set forth herein. The exemplary embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be both thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the invention and enable one of ordinary skill in the art to make, use and practice the invention. Like reference numbers refer to like elements throughout the various drawings.

[0029] FIGS. 1-7B disclose the garments 100 (also referred to as double waistband garment(s)) contemplated herein. These garments may include either pants or shorts having double waistband conformations and/or interchangeable double waistband conformations allowing a wearer to simulate and create various sagging/saggin' looks.

[0030] The garments 100 shown within FIGS. 1-7B simulate the sagging/saggin' look while concurrently and advantageously securing the garment to the wearer by one or more waistbands within the garments, thus preventing and/or reducing the likelihood of the garment from falling down and/or off of the wearer while being worn.

[0031] FIGS. 1 and 2 specifically show a front and back view of the garment (100). As shown in both FIGS. 1 and 2, the garment (100) includes a first waistband (120) having a first end (121) that is the uppermost portion of the garment and a second end (122) of the first waistband that is spaced apart from the first end of the first waistband. In certain aspects, the first end (121) of the first waistband (120) is either functionalconfigured to grip a garment wearer's waist to secure the garment to the wearer or is decorativenot functioning to secure the garment to the wearer. Portions of or the entire first waistband (120) may be an elastic waistband, rigid, fitted waistband, or a semi-rigid, fitted waistband (formed of lycra or spandex allowing for limited amounts of stretch). As further shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the garment (100) further includes a second waistband (150) that is spaced apart from the first end (121) of the first waistband (120) and includes the second end (122) of the first waistband (120) permanently or releasably attached and concealed therein (i.e., internally within the garment). The second waistband is functionalconfigured to grip a garment wearer's waist to secure the garment to the wearer, and portions of or the entire second waistband (150) may also be an elastic waistband, a rigid, fitted waistband, or a semi-rigid, fitted waistband (formed of lycra or spandex allowing for limited amounts of stretch). In certain aspects, the first waistband (120) forms the uppermost portion of the garment 100 and simulates the upper half of underwear/an underwear waistband (e.g., boxer underpants, boxer brief underpants, brief underpants, panties, and/or diapers) and further preferably has a different appearance than the second waistband. As further shown in FIGS. 1-7B, and in contrast to the first waistband (120), the second waistband (150) is directly attached to the garment main body (i.e., the portion of the garment immediately below the second waistband), which is formed into either shorts or pants and further includes legs 156, 157 and leg holes 176, 177 through which the user's legs are received therethough.

[0032] As alluded to above, FIGS. 7A and 7B depict the disassembled garment (100) in which an outer diameter (124) of the second end (122) of the first waistband (120) is either permanently or releasably attached to and, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, concealed within an inner diameter (154) of the second waistband (150). In certain aspects, the outer diameter (124) of the second end (122) of the first waistband (120) is permanently or releasably attached and concealed within the inner diameter (154) of the second waistband (150) approximately mid-span along an overall length (L.sup.1) of the second waistband (150) to provide optimal integrity to the garment.

[0033] As further show in FIGS. 7A and 7B and in certain aspects, a first plurality of fasteners that are affixed to and continuously (127) (FIG. 7A) or discontinuously (128) (FIG. 7B) arranged along the outer diameter (124) of the first waistband, and a second plurality of fasteners (not shown) configured to engage the first plurality of fasteners that are affixed to and continuously or discontinuously arranged along the inner diameter (154) of the second waistband (150).

[0034] As further shown in FIGS. 7A and 7B, the first and second plurality of fasteners may be engaged to one another by advancing the first waist band (120) and more particularly the second end (122) of the first waistband (120) having either continuous (127) or discontinuous (128) fasteners affixed thereon in a direction (D.sup.1) towards the second waistband (150). The outer diameter 127 of the first waistband 120 may then be inserted within the inner diameter (154) of the second waistband (150) and the first and second plurality of fasteners may then be engaged with one another internally within the garment 100 approximately mid-span along an overall length (L.sup.1) of the second waistband (150) thereby securing the first waistband (120) within the second waistband (150) while concurrently and advantageously completely concealing the fasteners internally within the garment to achieve the sagging/saggin' look. This arrangement is specifically shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 wherein the first and second plurality of fasteners are engaged with one another with the first and second plurality of fasteners being completely concealed internally within the garment.

[0035] In certain aspects and especially in view of the releasable and/or detachable embodiments envisioned herein, the first and second plurality of fasteners comprises buttons or hook and loop fasteners. Further in view of the above disclosures and in certain alternative embodiments when the first (120) and second waistbands (150) are permanently joined together to form one, unitary inseparable garment, the first waistband (120) may be permanently sewn within and/or bonded to the inner diameter (154) of the second waistband (150) in a manner such that the stitching/bonding joining the first and second waistbands together are completely concealed within the garment when viewed from outside of the garment, thus concealing that the first (120) and second (150) waistbands are permanently joined together to form one, unitary inseparable garment and further giving the perception that the first waistband (120) is a completely separate garment to achieve a sagging/saggin' look.

[0036] Although FIGS. 1-7B depict the garment (100) as pants having legs 156, 157, optional cuffs 166, 167, and leg holes 176, 177, in certain aspects the garment can be shorts. As further shown in FIGS. 1-7B, the garment may further include a plurality of belt loops (180) arranged along an outer diameter (154) of the second waistband (150) that are configured to receive a belt there through. In certain aspects, the garments (100) disclosed herein further include a plurality of pockets (160) (either decorative or functional) with at least a first and second pocket being arranged on opposing sides of the garment immediately below the second waistband 150, and the garment (100) may further include either a decorative or functional fly (162) arranged immediately below the second waistband and between the first and second pocket. For example, when the garment is fashioned for babies, toddlers, and/or small children, the fly may be decorative whereas when the garment is fashioned for adults the fly may be functional.

[0037] In view of the above mentioned garments (100) having releasable and/or detachable first (120) and second (150) waistbands, also disclosed herein are garment kit(s) having prepackaged first (120) and second (150) waistbands that may be mixed and matched with one another to create various different sagging/saggin' looks. These garment kits include at least a first waistband (120) having a first end (121) that forms an uppermost portion of a garment (100) and a second end (122) of the first waistband that is spaced apart from the first end of the first waistband (120). The first end (121) of the first waistband (120) is either functional, configured to grip a garment wearer's waist to secure the garment to the wearer or is decorative and non-functional. Also included within the garment kit is a second waistband (150) that is directly attached to a garment main body (which is fashioned into pants as shown in FIGS. 1-7B or alternatively shorts), the second waistband (150) is configured to releasably engage the second end (122) of the first waistband (120) such that the second end (122) of first waistband is concealed therein when engaged with the second waistband. The second waistband (150) within the garment kit is configured to grip a garment wearer's waist to secure the garment to the wearer.

[0038] In certain aspects, the garment kit further includes a plurality of first waistbands (120) with each waistband having either the same or varying designs, color, and/or indicia, with each waistband of the plurality of first waistbands configured to releasably engage the second waistband (150) attached to a garment main body. Also, within the garment kit and when additional, varied sagging/saggin' looks are desired, it is further envisioned to include a plurality of second waistbands 150 (each second waistband being directly attached to a garment main body) that are either formed into pants (e.g., denim jeans (skinny jeans, baggy jeans, boot cut jeans, bell bottoms), khakis, chinos, etc. with each having different colors) or shorts (each having different colors and/or patterns) in order to create a wide variety of sagging/saggin' looks by mixing and matching the different first and second waistbands prepackaged in the garment kit.

[0039] The foregoing description provides embodiments of the invention by way of example only. It is envisioned that other embodiments may perform similar functions and/or achieve similar results. Any and all such equivalent embodiments and examples are within the scope of the present invention and are intended to be covered by the appended claims.
