<i>Gerbera </i>plant named ‘Sweet Frosting’

Abstract

A new and distinct cultivar of Gerbera plant named Sweet Frosting, characterized by its compact, broadly upright and uniformly mounding plant habit; dense and bushy appearance; numerous inflorescences with white-colored ray florets; upright and moderately strong scapes; and good garden performance and relative tolerance to high and low temperatures.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PHOTOGRAPH

(1) The accompanying photograph illustrates the overall appearance of the new Gerbera plant showing the colors as true as it is reasonably possible to obtain in colored reproductions of this type. Colors in the photograph may differ slightly from the color values cited in the detailed botanical description which accurately describe the colors of the new Gerbera plant.

(3) The aforementioned photograph and following observations and measurements describe plants grown during the spring and summer in 17-cm containers in a glass-covered greenhouse in De Kwakel, The Netherlands and under cultural practices typical of commercial garden Gerbera production. During the production of the plants, day temperatures ranged from 12 C. to 18 C. and night temperatures ranged from 12 C. to 16 C. Plants were six months old when the photograph was taken and 20 weeks old when the description was taken. In the following description, color references are made to The Royal Horticultural Society Colour Chart, 2015 Edition, except where general terms of ordinary dictionary significance are used.
