DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0045] FIGS. 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and 3A, 3B each show an exemplary embodiment of the face rest cover according to the invention 1.

[0046] FIG. 4 shows a typical application of this face rest cover 1. The face rest cover 1 is used as hygienic protection for a treatment table 2. When lying on the treatment table 2, a person (not shown) can be treated, whereby the term treatment generally comprises physiotherapeutic, osteopathic and also wellness treatments, such as massages.

[0047] The treatment table 2 has an opening 3 in the head region in the known manner. When a person lies on their stomach on the treatment table 2, they can place their face into the opening 3, such that the person lies completely flat on the treatment table 2.

[0048] The face rest cover 1 lies on the region of the opening 3 as hygienic protection. The size of the face rest cover 1 is dimensioned such that the face rest cover 1 rests securely on the edge regions surrounding the opening 3.

[0049] The face rest cover 1 shown in FIGS. 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and 3A, 3B is square-shaped, which is not, however, strictly necessary. The face rest cover 1 can be made of pulp, especially from an absorbent paper. Alternatively, the face rest cover 1 can be made of a nonwoven.

[0050] According to the invention, the face rest cover 1 is treated with a fragrance. The fragrance is applied to the face rest cover in a fluid state. So that the fragrance remains intact in the face rest cover, the cover is preferably stored in an air-tight package that is opened shortly before use of the face rest cover 1. The fragrances can be implemented as essential substances or aromatic substances.

[0051] FIGS. 1A, 1B show a first exemplary embodiment of the face rest cover 1 according to the invention. FIG. 1A shows the face rest cover 1 in its original, unloaded state, i.e. with closed slit structure, while FIG. 1B shows the face rest cover 1 with flipped-open slit structure, such as when a person lies with their face on the face rest cover 1.

[0052] As FIG. 1A shows, the face rest cloth has a T-shaped slit 4 that is composed of a longitudinal slit segment 5 and a transverse slit segment 6 that runs perpendicular to it. Running perpendicular means that the longitudinal axis of the transverse slit segment 6 runs at least approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the longitudinal slit segment 5.

[0053] The longitudinal slit segment 5 has a line-shaped design, i.e. adjacent cover segments 1A of the face rest cover 1 directly abut one another along the line-shaped slit.

[0054] The longitudinal axis of the longitudinal slit segment 5 runs within a plane of symmetry in the center of the face rest cover 1. One end of the longitudinal slit segment 5 opens out at the lower edge of the face rest cover 1. The other end of the longitudinal slit segment 5 opens out into the transverse slit segment 6. In the present case, the transverse slit segment 6 is line-shaped like the longitudinal slit segment 5. To form the T-shaped slit structure, the longitudinal slit segment 5 opens out in the center of the transverse slit segment 6, such that a T-shape with mirror symmetry is obtained.

[0055] FIG. 1B shows the face rest cover 1 from FIG. 1A in the flipped-open state. Due to the T-shaped slit structure, the cover segments 1A bordering the longitudinal slit segment 5 flip open evenly over the length of the longitudinal slit segment 5, by which means it is achieved that these cover segments 1A lie against the side of the mouth and nose region of the person lying on the treatment table 2.

[0056] FIGS. 2A, 2B show another exemplary embodiment of the face rest cover 1 according to the invention, whereby FIG. 2A shows the face rest cover 1 with closed slit structure and FIG. 2B shows the face rest cover 1 with flipped-open slit structure.

[0057] In accordance with the exemplary embodiment from FIGS. 1A and 1B, the face rest cover 1 from FIGS. 2A and 2B has a T-shaped slit 4 with a line-shaped longitudinal slit segment 5 and a line-shaped transverse slit segment 6.

[0058] In contrast to the embodiment from FIGS. 1A and 1B, the longitudinal slit segment 5 of the face rest cover 1 from FIGS. 2A and 2B does not open out directly into the transverse slit segment 6. Rather, an area cut-out 7 is provided between the longitudinal slit segment 5 and transverse slit segment 6, where in the present case this area cut-out 7 is triangular in shape. The cut-out 7 is restricted to the central region of the transverse segment 6, i.e. the longitudinal extension of the cut-out 7 is significantly smaller than the length of the transverse slit segment 6 and also of the longitudinal slit segment 5.

[0059] FIGS. 3A, 3B show another exemplary embodiment of the face rest cover 1 according to the invention, whereby FIG. 3A shows the face rest cover 1 with closed slit structure and FIG. 3B shows the face rest cover 1 with flipped-open slit structure.

[0060] In accordance with the exemplary embodiment from FIGS. 1A and 1B, the face rest cover 1 from FIGS. 3A and 3B has a T-shaped slit 4 with a line-shaped longitudinal slit segment 5 and a transverse slit segment 6, wherein the longitudinal slit segment 5 opens out directly into the transverse slit segment 6.

[0061] In contrast to the embodiment from FIGS. 1A and 1B, the transverse slit segment 6 is implemented in the form of an area cut-out. The width of this cut-out is significantly smaller than the longitudinal extension of the transverse slit segment 6. The width of the transverse slit segment 6 is essentially constant over its length. Only the ends of the transverse slit segment 6 are rounded, such that the width of the transverse slit segment 6 is not constant there.
