DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0037] The subject innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the present invention. It may be evident, however, that the present invention may be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form in order to facilitate describing the present invention.
[0038] Referring now to
[0039] The watercraft accessory 10 typically includes the two tandem rails 16, 18 with hand knobs 20a, 20b, 20c, 20d, one motor mount 26, one gear deck 30 and two paddle handles eight pre-assembled rail anchors with sheaths concealed under cockpit rim to accept hand knob 20a,20b,20c,20d, cockpit centering too (see
[0040] With the provided centering tool 490 and tools available from hardware stores and online instructions, the modifications to the pair of kayaks 12, 14 to receive the tandem rails 16, 18 can be completed typically in a short time.
[0041] Raised seats (see
[0042] The watercraft accessory 10 described above is not limited to kayaks specifically. It also should be noted that the minor modification to a single passenger kayak does not render the kayak incapable of functioning as originally designed. The watercraft accessory 10 enhances kayak functionality and broadens the experience of the boater. The watercraft accessory 10 transforms two kayaks 12, 14 into an extremely stable craft for couples and for the physically impaired. Moreover, the watercraft accessory 10 is great for fisherman because it's paddle free and for seniors just wanting a leisurely motorized cruise around a body of water.

[0062] In a preferred embodiment, the recommended propulsion is a Minn Kota 12 volt 30 lb thrust electric motor powered by a 12-volt 35-amp hour AGM battery delivering two hours of continuous cruising at speed position number three.
[0063] In summary, the watercraft accessory of the present invention is a light weight four-piece accessory that transforms two ordinary lightweight watercraft into one safe, extremely stable and unique two passenger watercraft to enjoy. Modification to the lightweight watercraft is imperceptible. With the small commonly available tools and the centering tool provided in a kit, the modification is simple with paper or online instructions and can be completed in a short amount of time. The watercraft accessory not only transforms the lightweight watercraft into a two-passenger motorized watercraft, but it gives an occupant the option of going solo or tandem. Moreover, the original purpose of the individual lightweight watercraft as a one-person watercraft remains unchanged.
[0064] It would be appreciated by those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications can be made to the illustrate embodiments without departing from the spirit of the present invention. All such modifications and changes are intended to be within the scope of the present invention except as limited by the scope of the appended claims.
