    Abstract

    A portable cooking grill system includes a cooking grill assembly having a grilling-rack comprising a first-section and a second-section, a frame having a plurality of foldable legs, and a detachable handle. The cooking grill assembly includes the grilling-rack and the frame in foldable functional combination such that the portable cooking grill system is configured for portable cooking use and ease of storage for backpacking, camping and other activities.

    Claims

    1. A portable cooking grill system, the portable cooking grill system comprising a cooking grill assembly including: a grilling-rack comprising a grate having a series of rack-members parallel to one another configured for direct placement of food for cooking, the grilling-rack further comprising a first-section and a second-section, said first-section and said second-section are hingedly connected via a connector allowing said grilling-rack to be foldable; the first section having an interior, a width, a length and a height; the second-section having an interior, a width, a length and a height that is the same as the width, the length and the height of the first-section, wherein each of the first-section and the second section include an interior length edge, an exterior length edge, a first width edge and a second width edge, and the connector hingedly connected to the interior length edge of the first-section and the interior length-edge of the second-section; a frame having a plurality of foldable legs configured to support said grilling-rack in an elevated position during use and fold into a compact state for a non-use-condition wherein the foldable legs fold into the interior of the first-section and the second-section respectively and fold within the height of the first-section and the second-section respectively; and a detachable handle for maneuvering said cooking grill assembly during use, the detachable handle attachable at a first point to the first section and at a second point to the second section and dimensioned to fit within a space created by the height of the first-section and the height of the second-section when said grilling-rack is folded; and wherein said cooking grill assembly comprises said grilling-rack and said frame in foldable functional combination such that said portable cooking grill system is configured for portable cooking use and ease of storage.

    2. The portable cooking grill system of claim 1, wherein said plurality of foldable legs comprise a support member including a locking device for preventing collapsing of said frame during use.

    3. The portable cooking grill system of claim 2, wherein said locking device comprises a sliding lock brace for supporting said plurality of foldable legs when in an extended position.

    4. The portable cooking grill system of claim 2, wherein said frame comprises four of said plurality of foldable legs for supporting said grilling-rack.

    5. The portable cooking grill system of claim 4, wherein said grilling-rack includes four corners, and wherein said plurality of foldable legs are positioned at each of the four corners of said grilling-rack providing a cooking platform.

    6. The portable cooking grill system of claim 1, wherein said connector comprises a hinge allowing said first-section and said second-section to fold and pivot along a longest mutual edge between said first-section and said second-section.

    7. The portable cooking grill system of claim 6, wherein said connector further comprises a lock.

    8. The portable cooking grill system of claim 6, wherein said first-section and said second-section share a common plane during an in-use condition.

    9. The portable cooking grill system of claim 8, wherein said first-section and said second-section pivot via said connector in relation to each other about a centerline axis.

    10. The portable cooking grill system of claim 9, wherein said centerline axis passes through lengthwise.

    11. The portable cooking grill system of claim 9, wherein said centerline axis does not pass through widthwise.

    12. The portable cooking grill system of claim 1, wherein said detachable handle is removeably coupleable to said frame.

    13. The portable cooking grill system of claim 12, wherein said detachable handle comprises a silicone cover.

    14. The portable cooking grill system of claim 13, wherein said silicone cover is heat and fire resistant.

    15. The portable cooking grill system of claim 1, wherein said connector is perpendicular to the series of rack-members.

    16. The portable cooking grill system of claim 1, wherein said first-section and said second-section share a stacked plane during said non-use-condition.

    17. The portable cooking grill system of claim 1, wherein said grilling-rack comprises a generally rectangular cooking platform.

    18. The portable cooking grill system of claim 1, wherein said cooking grill assembly, when said plurality of foldable legs are in a locked position, is approximately 9 inches tall.

    19. A portable cooking grill system comprising a cooking grill assembly including: a grilling-rack comprising a grate having a series of rack-members parallel to one another configured for direct placement of food for cooking, the grilling-rack further comprising a first-section and a second-section, said first-section and said second-section are hingedly connected via a connector allowing said grilling-rack to be foldable; the first section having an interior, a width, a length and a height; the second-section having an interior, a width, a length and a height that is the same as the width, the length and the height of the first-section, wherein each of the first-section and the second section include an interior length edge, an exterior length edge, a first width edge and a second width edge, and the connector hingedly connected to the interior length edge of the first-section and the interior length-edge of the second-section; a frame having a plurality of foldable legs configured to support said grilling-rack in an elevated position during use and fold into a compact state for a non-use-condition wherein the foldable legs fold into the interior of the first-section and the second-section respectively and fold within the height of the first-section and the second-section respectively; a detachable handle for maneuvering said cooking grill assembly during use, the detachable handle attachable at a first point to the first section and at a second point to the second section and dimensioned to fit within a space created by the height of the first-section and the height of the second-section when said grilling-rack is folded; wherein said plurality of foldable legs comprise a support member including a locking device for preventing collapsing of said frame during use; wherein said locking device comprises a sliding lock brace for supporting said plurality of foldable legs when in an extended position; wherein said frame comprises four of said plurality of foldable legs for supporting said grilling-rack; wherein said grilling-rack includes for corners, and wherein said plurality of foldable legs are positioned at each of the four corners of said grilling-rack providing a cooking platform; wherein said connector comprises a hinge allowing said first-section and said second-section to fold and pivot along a longest mutual edge between said first-section and said second-section; wherein said connector is perpendicular to the series of rack-members; wherein said connector further comprises a lock; wherein said first-section and said second-section share a common plane during an in-use condition; wherein said first-section and said second-section share a stacked plane during said non-use-condition; wherein said first-section and said second-section pivot via said connector in relation to each other about a centerline axis; wherein said centerline axis passes through lengthwise; wherein said centerline axis does not pass through widthwise; wherein said detachable handle is removeably coupleable to said frame; wherein said detachable handle comprises a silicone cover; wherein said silicone cover is heat and fire resistant; wherein said grilling-rack comprises a generally rectangular cooking platform; and wherein said cooking grill assembly comprises said grilling-rack and said frame in foldable functional combination such that said portable cooking grill system is configured for portable cooking use and ease of storage.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

    (8) As discussed above, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to cooking grills and more particularly to a portable cooking grill system as used to improve the portability and convenience of cooking while on-the-go.

    (9) Generally, the portable cooking grill system is a foldable grill with a removable handle with a silicone cover. The legs may have a locking device to prevent collapsing. The compact design allows for a minimalist approach. The portable cooking grill system is a collapsible compact grill with a removable handle that allows for minimalist use while backpacking or camping. The handle preferably has a silicon cover that prevents burns and is made of a material that will be durable for extended use. The device is easy to clean and transport. The locking legs fold up and down with a locking device to prevent the grill from collapsing giving the user a strong cooking platform.

    (10) Referring now more specifically to the drawings by numerals of reference, there is shown in FIGS. 1-5, various views of a portable cooking grill system 100. FIG. 1 shows a portable cooking grill system 100 during an in-use condition 150, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As illustrated, the portable cooking grill system 100 may include a cooking grill assembly 110 including a grilling-rack 120 comprising a first-section 122 and a second-section 124, a frame 130 having a plurality of foldable legs 134, and a detachable handle 160. The first-section 122 and the second-section 124 of the grilling-rack 120 are hingedly connected via a connector 126 creating a foldable grilling-rack 120. The plurality of foldable legs 134 are configured to support the grilling-rack 120 in an elevated position during use and fold into a compact state for a non-use-condition 152. The detachable handle 160 is included for maneuvering the cooking grill assembly 110 during use. The cooking grill assembly 110 comprises the grilling-rack 120 and the frame 130 in foldable functional combination such that the portable cooking grill system 100 is configured for portable cooking use and ease of storage.

    (11) FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of the portable cooking grill system 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As above, the portable cooking grill system 100 may include the cooking grill assembly 110 including the grilling-rack 120 comprising the first-section 122 and the second-section 124; the frame 130 having the plurality of foldable legs 134, and the detachable handle 160. The plurality of foldable legs 134 may further comprise a support member 136 including a locking device 138 for preventing collapsing of the frame during use. The locking device 138 may include a sliding lock brace for supporting the plurality of foldable legs 134 when in an extended position. In a preferred embodiment, the frame 130 comprises four of the plurality of foldable legs 134 for supporting the grilling-rack 120. The plurality of foldable legs 134 may be positioned at each corner of the grilling-rack 120 providing a cooking platform.

    (12) FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of the portable cooking grill system 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As above, the portable cooking grill system 100 may include the cooking grill assembly 110 including the grilling-rack 120 comprising the first-section 122 and the second-section 124; the frame 130 is supported by the plurality of foldable legs 134, and the detachable handle 160. The first-section 122 and the second-section 124 of the grilling-rack 120 are hingedly connected via the connector 126 creating a foldable grilling-rack 120. The first-section 122 and the second-section 124 may each have a longest dimension along a length of the first-section 122 and the second-section 124. The connector 126 may connect along the length of both the first-section 122 and the second-section 124. The connector 126 may comprise a hinge allowing the first-section 122 and the second-section 124 to fold and pivot along a longest mutual edge between the first-section 122 and the second-section 124. The grilling-rack 120 comprises a grate having the series of rack-members 128 parallel to one another. The connector 126 may be perpendicular to the series of rack-members 128. The connector 126 may further comprise a lock for securing the device in an unfolded position. The first-section 122 and the second-section 124 share a common plane during an in-use condition. The first-section 122 and the second-section 124 share a stacked plane during the non-use-condition 152 (shown in FIG. 4). The first-section 122 and the second-section 124 pivot via the connector 126 in relation to each other about a centerline axis. The centerline axis passes through lengthwise in a preferred embodiment; thus being a novel feature.

    (13) FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of the portable cooking grill system 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As above, the portable cooking grill system 100 may include the detachable handle 160. The detachable handle 160 may be removeably coupleable to the frame 130. The detachable handle 160 comprises a silicone cover. The silicone cover is heat and fire resistant and allows a user to move the portable cooking grill system 100 during use and prevents burns. The grilling-rack 120 comprises a generally rectangular cooking platform. The cooking grill assembly 110, when the plurality of foldable legs 134 are in a locked position, is approximately 9 inches tall.

    (14) FIG. 5 shows a perspective view of the portable cooking grill system 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As above, the portable cooking grill system 100 may include cooking grill assembly 110 comprising the grilling-rack 120 and the frame 130 in foldable functional combination such that the portable cooking grill system 100 is configured for portable cooking use and ease of storage. The portable cooking grill system 100 provides a collapsible compact grill with a detachable handle 160 that allows for minimalist use while backpacking or camping.

    (15) The embodiments of the invention described herein are exemplary and numerous modifications, variations and rearrangements can be readily envisioned to achieve substantially equivalent results, all of which are intended to be embraced within the spirit and scope of the invention. Further, the purpose of the foregoing abstract is to enable the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally, and especially the scientist, engineers and practitioners in the art who are not familiar with patent or legal terms or phraseology, to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and essence of the technical disclosure of the application.
