Abstract
An apparatus for an accessible extreme close quarter penetrating self defense weapon. It is comprised of a cast rigid urethane resin. It is cylindrical in shape, approximately five and three quarters (5) inches long, five eights () inches wide, two (2) inches in circumference, and thirty four (34) grams in weight. One end is flat with a small hole approximately three sixteenths ( 3/16) inches in diameter drilled completely through it so that a steel cable key ring can be attached. The other end tapers to a point from which the sharpened tip of a five and one eighth (5) inch long and three sixteenths ( 3/16) inch diameter steel rod protrudes. The outside surface is either smooth or textured and is indented by six (6) grooves approximately three quarters () inch apart. The apparatus comes in many colors created by the addition of dye and or other coloring products during the casting process of the rigid urethane resin. Coloring of the apparatus is further enhanced by the application of various colors of paint to the outside surface.
Claims
1. An apparatus for a self defense weapon, comprising: a) a cylindrically shaped body having first and second ends and a center, wherein said first end is flat and said second end tapers inwardly toward said center; b) a plurality of spaced apart grooves extending completely around an outer surface of said body to permit a user to better grip the apparatus; c) a steel rod centrally disposed inside said body and extending longitudinally along said body, wherein one end of said steel rod protrudes as a sharpened tip from said second end of said body; and d) a retainer disposed on said steel rod for centering and stabilizing said steel rod in said body.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
[0022] The present invention is an handmade product, each being individually produced, and as such there are minute variances in the actual measurements and appearance of each one. The present disclosure is to be considered as an exemplification of the invention, and is not intended to limit the invention to the specific embodiments illustrated by the descriptions and drawings below.
[0023] The terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting of this invention. As used herein, the term and/or includes any and all combinations of one or more of the associated listed items. As used herein, the singular forms a, an, and the are intended to include the plural forms as well as the singular forms, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms comprises and/or comprising, when used in this specification, specify the presence of stated features, steps, operations, elements, and/or components, but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, steps, operations, elements, components, and/or groups thereof.
[0024] Unless otherwise defined, all terms (including technical and scientific terms) used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one having ordinary skill in the art to which this invention belongs. It will be further understood that terms, such as those defined in commonly used dictionaries, should be interpreted as having a meaning that is consistent with their meaning in the context of the relevant art and the present disclosure and will not be interpreted in an idealized or overly formal sense unless expressly so defined herein.
[0025] Turning to
[0026] One end of the present invention 10 is flat 14 with a small hole 16 approximately three sixteenths ( 3/16) inches in diameter drilled completely through it approximately one quarter () inch from that end of the present invention 10 (there is some slight variance in this measurement as this is an handmade product). The hole 16 is there so that a coated steel cable ring 28 with a threaded barrel clasp 30 can be inserted through it to form a key chain attachment. The present invention 10 will be provided to consumers with the steel cable ring 28 attached.
[0027] Inside the present invention 10, encased by the cast rigid urethane resin, is a steel rod 18. The steel rod 18 is approximately five and one eighth (5) inches long and three sixteenths ( 3/16) inches in diameter.
[0028] The other end of the present invention 10, opposite from the end 14 tapers 20 to a point from which the ground, sharpened tip 22 of the steel rod 18 protrudes. The length of the protrusion varies as this is an handmade product, but it is approximately one eighth () to three sixteenths ( 3/16) inches in length (there is some slight variance in this measurement as this is an handmade product).
[0029] The steel rod 18 inside the present invention 10 is centered and stabilized by a plastic retainer 24.
[0030] The encased steel rod 18 of the present invention 10 serves to reinforce the strength of the present invention 10.
[0031] The protruding tip 22 of the steel rod 18 of the present invention 10 serves as a penetrating weapon and also as an agent to collect bodily evidence, i.e. blood and/or skin.
[0032] The outside surface of the present invention 10 is either smooth or textured. The outside surface of the present invention 10 has 6 grooves 26 each approximately three quarter () inch apart from the other. The purpose of the grooves 26 is to facilitate secure gripping by the human hand.
[0033] The present invention 10 comes in many colors created by the addition of dye and or other coloring products during the casting process of the rigid urethane resin. Coloring of the present invention 10 is further enhanced by the application of various colors of paint to the outside surface of the present invention 10.
