Abstract
The invention relates to a mooring arrangement (2, 2) for a floating device (1, 2) comprising a band (5) and a drum (3) adapted to pay out and pull in the band (5). The invention being distinctive in that the mooring arrangement (2, 2 further comprising a band guide (14, 15,22), said band (5) is extending from the drum (3) via the band guide (14, 15, 22) and is adapted to be coupled to an anchoring arrangement (13), said band said band guide (4, 15, 22) being configured to tilt about an articulation axis (A, B) being parallel with a longitudinal axis of the part of the band (5a) situated between the drum (3) and the band guide (14, 15, 22) in order to position the band (5) to compensate for movement in the floating device (1,12, 12) and thus reduce the wear in the band (5).
Claims
1. A mooring arrangement (2, 2) for a floating device (1, 12, 12) comprising a band (5) and a drum (3) adapted to pay out and pull in the band (5) characterized in that the mooring arrangement (2, 2) further comprising a band guide (14, 15, 22), said band (5) is extending from the drum (3) via the band guide (14, 15, 22) and is adapted to be coupled to an anchoring arrangement (13), said band said band guide (4, 15, 22) being configured to tilt about an articulation axis (A, B) being parallel with a longitudinal axis of the part of the band (5a) situated between the drum (3) and the band guide (14, 15, 22) in order to position the band (5) to compensate for movement in the floating device (1,12, 12) and thus reduce the wear in the band (5).
2. The mooring arrangement (2, 2) according to claim 1 wherein the mooring arrangement further comprising base part (19,21, 33) adapted to be connected to the floating device (1, 12, 12), said band guide (4, 15, 22) is pivotably coupled to the base part (19, 21, 33).
3. The mooring arrangement (2, 2) according the claim 2 wherein base part is a frame (33) having two legs (33a, 33b) adapted to support the band guide (4, 15, 22) two on opposite sides.
4. The mooring arrangement according to any one of claim 1-3, wherein the band guide (4, 15, 22) comprising a single pulley (14).
5. The mooring arrangement according to any one of claim 1-4, wherein the band guide comprises a first and second pulleys (16, 17), said first and second pulley (16, 17) are arranged in series in the longitudinal direction of the band guide (15, 22).
6. The mooring arrangement according to claim 5, wherein the first pulley (17) and second pulley (16) are coupled to the same housing (15, 22)
7. The mooring arrangement according to any one of claims 1-6, wherein the mooring arrangement (2, 2) having a sensor/load cell arrangement (not shown) for measuring lateral load between the band and guide pulley flange.
8. The mooring arrangement according to any one of claim 4-7 wherein said guide pulley comprising a winch portion (1416, 17) adapted to receive the band (5) and flanges 36 arranged outside of the winch portion (14, 16, 17).
9. The mooring arrangement according to claim 8, wherein the height of the flanges (36) above the winch portion (14, 16, 17) are at least the thickness of the band 5.
10. The mooring arrangement according to any one of the previous claims wherein the mooring arrangement further comprising a band end fitting (9) coupling the mooring arrangement to the anchoring arrangement (13).
11. The mooring arrangement according to claim 10, wherein the band end fitting (9) having a bend constrainer (23) arranged on both sides of the band (5).
12. The mooring arrangement according to claim 10 or 11, wherein the band end fitting comprising a float (24, 27).
13. The mooring arrangement according to any one of the previous claims 10-12, wherein the mooring arrangement comprising the load cell (28) is arrangement between the band end fitting (9) and the anchoring arrangement (13).
14. A floating device such as a lifesaver wave energy converter characterized in that the device comprising at least one mooring arrangement (2, 2) according to any one of the claims 1-11.

To minimize wear on the band 5 from interference with the flanges 40, there must be a certain clearance between the flange 40 and the band 5, hence the flange spacing ie the width of the winch portion 14, 16, 17 must be marginally larger than width of the band 5 by typically 1-2% of the band width.
