<i>Taxus </i>plant named ‘SMNTHDC’

Abstract

A new and distinct Taxus cultivar named SMNTHDC is disclosed, characterized by upright growth, a compact branching habit, and fresh yellow-green and green foliage. The new cultivar is a Taxus, suitable for ornamental garden purposes.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PHOTOGRAPH

(1) The accompanying photograph illustrates in full color a typical plant of SMNTHDC grown outdoors in Grand Haven, Mich. The plant is approximately 5 years old, and is shown in the ground. The photograph was taken using conventional techniques and although colors may appear different from actual colors due to light reflectance it is as accurate as possible by conventional photographic techniques.

DETAILED BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION

(2) In the following description, color references are made to The Royal Horticultural Society Colour Chart 2015 except where general terms of ordinary dictionary significance are used. The following observations and measurements describe SMNTHDC plants grown outdoors in Grand Haven, Mich. Plants are approximately 2-3 years old, in a #3 size container. Measurements and numerical values represent averages of typical plant types. Botanical classification: Taxus x media SMNTHDC.

PROPAGATION

(3) Time to rooting: 30 days at approximately 10 C. Time to produce a rooted cutting: 3 months. Root description: Fibrous, thick, dense, freely branched. White or tan in color, not accurately measured by R.H.S. chart.
