Abstract
The invention relates to a cutter head (10) for a hair cutting machine, having an upper blade and a lower blade (12) that can be adjusted with respect to the upper blade by means of an actuating element, comprising a support with an adjusting element which can be adjusted with regard to the support by means of the actuating element (100) and which carries out a relative movement between the upper blade and the lower blade in the direction of cutting. The actuating element can be selectively placed in one of two opposite side areas of the support for actuating the adjusting element that is connected to the lower blade (12). The actuating element (100) can be removably connected to a shaft (62) mounted in the support (32) or to a first element protruding therefrom. The adjusting element is a second element having, in the cross-section, a U and/or C-shape, the transverse or base limb being connected to the lower blade (12). In order to adjust the adjusting element, at least one of the lateral limbs interacts with the first element.

15. A cutter head (10) for a hair cutting machine with an upper blade (14) and a lower blade (12) that is adjustable relative to the upper blade by means of an actuating element, comprising a support (32) with an adjusting element (16), which is adjustable relative to the support by means of the actuating element (100), and which effects a relative movement along the cutting direction between the upper blade and the lower blade, and which possesses a U- and/or C-shaped cross section and with its transverse and base arms (22) is connected to the lower blade (12), whereby for adjusting the adjusting element a first element (110, 120) interacts via the actuating element with at least one of the lateral arms (24, 26), wherein mounted in the support (32) is a shaft (62), from which protrudes the first element (110, 120), and in that the actuating element (100) is embodied to selectively be inserted into one of the opposing lateral arms (24, 26) of the adjusting element (16) and to be detachably connected to the shaft.
16. The cutter head according to claim 15, wherein the lateral arms (24, 26) of the adjusting element (16) are embodied equally and with each of the lateral arms interacts a first element (110, 120) originating from the shaft (62).

The cutter head according to claim 15, wherein the first element (110, 120) that protrudes from the shaft (62), such as an entraining member, engages into a cut-out (116, 118) provided in the lateral arm (24, 26) of the adjusting element (16), or a projection protruding from the adjusting element engages into the first element.
18. The cutter head according to claim 15, wherein the support (32) comprises guide surfaces (44, 46), along which extend inwardly angled sections (28, 30) of the lateral arms (24, 26) of the adjusting element (16).

The cutter head according to claim 15, wherein the support (32) comprises two receptacles, such as eyelets (48, 50), which possess a hollow-cylindrical geometry and are separated by some distance, in that the receptacles are provided in the lateral area, and in that the shaft (62) extends between the receptacles, whereby the actuating element (100) can be inserted selectively into one of the receptacles with its section (102) that is adapted to the receptacle (48, 50).

The cutter head according to claim 19, wherein from the section (102) of the actuating element (100) that is adapted to the receptacle (48, 50) originates an in particular pin-shaped projection (108), which, when the section of the actuating element is inserted into one of the receptacles (48, 50), engages into the first element (110, 120), such as entraining member, originating from the shaft (62).
21. The cutter head according to claim 19, wherein each of the receptacles (48, 50) of the support (32) possesses a base wall (52) with an opening (54), relative to which the shaft (62) is set upright.
22. The cutter head according to claim 19, wherein the shaft (62) is mounted via locking or fastening elements (68, 70) inserted in the receptacles, such as eyelets (48, 50), whereby the actuating element (100) can be secured in position via one of the locking or fastening elements.
23. The cutter head according to claim 21, wherein originating from the opening present in the base wall (52) is a cut-out (56) that possesses lateral limits (58, 60), which form limit stops for a rotational movement of the actuating element (100).

The cutter head according to claim 15, wherein mounted in a groove (88) of the upper blade (14) that extends in parallel to the blade edge of the upper blade is a plate-like pressure element (86), upon which acts a spring element (72), which in turn preferably originates from the shaft (62) or encompasses the shaft, whereby in particular the pressure element passes through an opening such as a slit (45) embodied in the support (32).
25. A hair cutting machine comprising the cutter head according to claim 15.

The hair cutting machine according to claim 25, comprising a first housing (200), wherein the cutter head (10) is secured in a fixed position in the first housing, wherein present in the hair cutting machine (202) is a drive (208) for the upper or lower blade (14, 12), that can be connected to an external voltage source via a rotatable coupling (218).

The hair cutting machine according to claim 26, wherein the rotatable coupling (218) comprises a cylindrical end section (220), which extends on the side towards the hair cutting housing, and from which radially protrude two annular elements (224, 226) arranged some distance from each other, and in that when the rotatable coupling is connected to the first housing (200), a disk-shaped intermediate wall (228) of the first housing, such as a perforated disk element, extends between the two annular elements in order to prevent an axial movement of the rotatable coupling while simultaneously allowing a rotational movement of the rotatable coupling.
28. The hair cutting machine according to claim 27, wherein in the first housing (200), in parallel to the first intermediate wall (228), extends a second intermediate wall (234), and in between these two intermediate walls extends the second annular element (224) of the rotatable coupling joint (218) when the rotatable coupling is connected to the first housing.

[0035] As will be explained below, the cutter head 10 is embodied so that the hair cutting machine 202 can be used and the cutting depth can be adjusted single-handedly by both right-handed as well as left-handed users.
[0036] The cutter head 10 comprises a lower blade 12 and an upper blade 14. Connected to the lower blade 12 is a bracket 16to be referred to as adjusting elementwhich is connected to the lower blade via bolts 18, 20. The adjusting element or bracket 16 is referred to as the second element.

For this purpose, the entraining member 92 possesses an extension 94 with a slit 96, into which engages a pin originating from the pinion shaft. In this, the pin is arranged off-centre relative to the longitudinal axis of the pinion shaft, so that a rotation of the pinion shaft causes the upper blade 14 to perform an oscillating motion in parallel to the cutting edge 90.
[0044] In order to adjust the bracket 16, and thus the lower blade 12, perpendicularly to the cutting edge 98 of the lower blade and the cutting edge 90 of the upper blade 14, for the purpose of adjusting the cutting depth, the embodiment example includes an actuating element, 100, which is embodied as a lever and which can be inserted selectively either into the eyelet 48 or into the eyelet 50, depending on whether the hair cutting machine is to be operated by a right-handed or a left-handed user.

Rotating the lever 100 causes the shaft 62 and the entraining element 110, 120 to turn as well, since as mentioned before the pin 108 engages into the recess 114 of the entraining member 110 protruding from the shaft. As a result of this, the bracket 16 is subjected to a translational adjustment, since the bracket 16 is guided along the guide surfaces 44, 46 of the support 32.
[0050] To relocate the lever 100, one loosens the bolt 68, pulls the lever 100 and the spring 130 from the eyelet 48, and after removal of the bolt 70, inserts them into the opposing eyelet 50.
