Abstract
A hanging clothes divider includes a hanging portion and a separator portion. The separator portion may be sized to separate a top portion (or entirety) of clothing hanging on traditional hangers adjacent to the clothes divider. The divider allows for easy hanging and removal from a closet, and may assist in wrinkle prevention.
Claims

2. The hanging clothes divider of claim 1, wherein the hanging portion is hook shaped.
3. The hanging clothes divider of claim 2, wherein the hook is shaped to engage a clothing rod.
4. The hanging clothes divider of claim 1, wherein the separator portion is 17 inches wide.
5. The hanging clothes divider of claim 1, wherein the separator portion is a uniform thickness.
6. The hanging clothes divider of claim 5, wherein the uniform thickness is inch.
7. The hanging clothes divider of claim 1, wherein the separator portion is formed from a uniform sheet.
8. The hanging clothes divider of claim 7, wherein the uniform sheet is solid.
9. The hanging clothes divider of claim 7, wherein the uniform sheet has holes therein.
10. A method for hanging clothes comprising: hanging clothes on a clothes hanger; and hanging a clothes divider on the clothes hanger, the divider comprising a hanging portion and a separator portion, wherein the separator portion is sized to separate a top portion of clothing adjacent to the clothes divider, wherein the clothes divider separates clothes on the clothes hanger.
11. The method of claim 10, further comprising multiple clothes and clothes dividers, arranged in alternating fashion on the clothes hanger.
12. The method of claim 10, wherein the hanging portion is hook shaped.
13. The method of claim 12, wherein the hook is shaped to engage a clothing rod.
14. The method of claim 10, wherein the separator portion is 17 inches wide.
15. The method of claim 10, wherein the separator portion is a uniform thickness.
16. The method of claim 15, wherein the uniform thickness is inch.
17. The method of claim 10, wherein the separator portion is formed from a uniform sheet.
18. The method of claim 17, wherein the uniform sheet is solid.
19. The method of claim 17, wherein the uniform sheet has holes therein.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS
[0006]
[0007] As can be best seen in
[0008] Dimension-wise, the separator portion 120 may be approximately 17 inches wide to follow traditional hanger dimensions. The separator portion 120 may have a length that varies from a shirt length that is 24 inches long or longer-length clothes dividers 150 to separate longer clothes like coats or dresses. The clothes divider 100 may have a uniform thickness, or its separator portion 120 may have a uniform thickness with a hanging portion 110 engaged thereto, with the thickness being approximately inch.
[0009] Both portions 110, 120 of the divider 100 may be formed from a single sheet of material, or only the separator may be so formed. The material may be a solid sheet, or the material may have holes 150 therein. The separator would ideally keep its shape and keep the clothing on either side thereof from folding against one another.
[0010] The material for the divider 100 may be a uniform plastic, or be a combination of plastic, wood (especially cedar to keep moths at bay), pressed paper, recycled paper, cardboard, or metal/wire, where the wire portions could comprise the hook-shaped portion 110 and the separator portion 120 could be wood or pressed paper/cardboard, with wire providing structure to more flexible materials through engagement between the hook 110 and separator 120.
[0011] While the invention has been described with reference to the embodiments above, a person of ordinary skill in the art would understand that various changes or modifications may be made thereto without departing from the scope of the claims.
