Abstract
A bedspread system includes a mattress that may be slept upon. A blanket is removably positioned on the mattress. The blanket has a pouch. The pouch engages the mattress such that the blanket is retained on the mattress. Thus, the blanket enhances an appearance of the mattress.
Claims
1. A bedspread system comprising: a mattress being configured to be slept upon; and a blanket being removably positioned on said mattress, said blanket having a pouch, said pouch engaging said mattress such that said blanket is retained on said mattress wherein said blanket is configured to enhance an appearance of said mattress.
2. The system according to claim 1, wherein: said mattress has a top surface, a bottom surface and a peripheral edge extending therebetween, said peripheral edge having a front side, a first flanking side and a second flanking side; and said blanket has a perimeter edge, said perimeter edge having a forward side, a rearward side, a first lateral side and a second lateral side, said blanket being folded having said forward side being directed toward said rearward side, said forward side being spaced from said blanket to define said pouch.
3. The system according to claim 2, wherein said forward side has a pair of straight portions and a curved portion extending between said straight portions, each of said straight portions extending inwardly from an associated one of said first lateral side and said second lateral side.
4. The system according to claim 2, wherein said pouch insertably receives said front side of said mattress having said blanket being positioned on said top surface of said mattress, said blanket draping downwardly along each of said first flanking side and said second flanking side such that each of said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge is spaced from said bottom surface of said mattress.
5. The system according to claim 2, further comprising an elastic member being coupled to said blanket, said elastic member being coextensive with said forward side of said blanket such that said forward side frictionally engages said mattress.
6. A bedspread system comprising: a mattress being configured to be slept upon, said mattress having a top surface, a bottom surface and a peripheral edge extending therebetween, said peripheral edge having a front side, a first flanking side and a second flanking side; and a blanket being removably positioned on said mattress, said blanket having a pouch, said pouch engaging said mattress such that said blanket is retained on said mattress wherein said blanket is configured to enhance an appearance of said mattress, said blanket having a perimeter edge, said perimeter edge having a forward side, a rearward side, a first lateral side and a second lateral side, said blanket being folded having said forward side being directed toward said rearward side, said forward side being spaced from said blanket to define said pouch, said forward side having a pair of straight portions and a curved portion extending between said straight portions, each of said straight portions extending inwardly from an associated one of said first lateral side and said second lateral side, said pouch insertably receiving said front side of said mattress having said blanket being positioned on said top surface of said mattress, said blanket draping downwardly along each of said first flanking side and said second flanking side such that each of said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge is spaced from said bottom surface of said mattress; and an elastic member being coupled to said blanket, said elastic member being coextensive with said forward side of said blanket such that said forward side frictionally engages said mattress.
Description
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0016] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
[0017] As best illustrated in
[0018] A blanket 26 is provided and the blanket 26 is removably positioned on the mattress 12. The blanket 26 has a pouch 28 and the pouch 28 engages the mattress 12. Thus, the blanket 26 is retained on the mattress 12 to enhance an appearance of the mattress 12. The blanket 26 facilitates the mattress 12 to be freshly made.
[0019] The blanket 26 has a perimeter edge 30. The perimeter edge 30 has a forward side 32, a rearward side 34, a first lateral side 36 and a second lateral side 38. The blanket 26 is folded having the forward side 32 being directed toward the rearward side 34. The forward side 32 is spaced from the blanket 26 to define the pouch 28. The pouch 28 extends substantially between each of the first lateral side 36 and the second lateral side 38.
[0020] The blanket 26 has a pair of cuts 40. Each of the cuts 40 extends between an associated one of the first lateral side 36, the second lateral side 38 and the forward side 32. Moreover, each of the cuts 40 angles toward the rearward side 34 with respect to the forward side 32. Each of the cuts 40 defines a pair of wings 42 on the blanket 26.
[0021] The forward side 32 has a pair of straight portions 44 and a curved portion 46 extending between the straight portions 44. Each of the straight portions 44 extends inwardly from an associated one of the first lateral side 36 and the second lateral side 38. The pouch 28 insertably receives the front side 20 of the mattress 12. An elastic member 48 is coupled to the blanket 26. The elastic member 48 is coextensive with the forward side 32 of the blanket 26. Thus, the forward side 32 frictionally engages the mattress 12.
[0022] In use, the blanket 26 is manipulated to position the front side 20 of the mattress 12 in the pouch 28. The forward side 32 of the blanket 26 is positioned on the bottom surface 16 of the mattress 12. The blanket 26 is positioned on the top surface 14 of the mattress 12. Each of the wings 42 drapes downwardly along an associated one of the first flanking side 22 and the second flanking side 24 of the mattress 12. Thus, each of the first lateral edge and the second lateral edge of the blanket 26 is spaced from the bottom surface 16 of the mattress 12. The pouch 28 facilitates the blanket 26 to be uniformly positioned on the mattress 12.
[0023] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0024] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word comprising is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article a does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
