Abstract

A new and distinct cultivar of Dahlia plant named Dodahhypnore 19, characterized by its relatively compact, broadly upright and uniformly mounding plant habit; relatively small dark green-colored leaves; early and freely flowering habit; medium to large inflorescences with red-colored ray florets; and good postproduction longevity.

(1) The accompanying photographs illustrate the overall appearance of the new Dahlia plant showing the colors as true as it is reasonably possible to obtain in colored reproductions of this type. Colors in the photographs may differ slightly from the color values cited in the detailed botanical description which accurately describe the colors of the new Dahlia plant.

(4) The aforementioned photographs and the following observations and measurements describe plants grown during the late summer and early autumn in 13-cm containers in a glass-covered greenhouse in De Lier, The Netherlands and under environmental conditions and cultural practices which approximate those generally used in commercial potted Dahlia production. During the production of the plants, day temperatures ranged from 24 C. to 30 C., night temperatures ranged from 18 C. to 20 C. and light levels averaged 600 watt/m.sup.2. Plants were ten weeks old when the photographs and description were taken.
