Abstract
The use of hemp paper for use in bags or newsprint.
Claims
1. A paper bag comprising: hemp paper; said hemp paper having a tensile MD strength from five pounds to two hundred pounds per inch; said hemp paper having a tensile CD strength from five pounds to two hundred pounds per inch; said hemp paper having a bursting strength from five pounds to two hundred pounds per square inch.
2. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said hemp paper has an elongation MD percentage from one half to twenty pounds per inch and an elongation CD percentage from one half to twenty pounds per inch.
3. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said hemp paper is treated or coated with AKD sizing, a wax derivative.
4. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is a flat bottom paper bag.
5. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is a pinch bottom paper bag.
6. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises a window.
7. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises gussets.
8. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises an opening and a closure mechanism for said opening.
9. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said bag is bleached.
10. The paper bag of claim 1 further comprising a handle.
11. The paper bag of claim 10 wherein said handle comprises hemp paper.
12. The paper bag of claim 10 wherein said handle is a twist handle, flat handle or die cut handle.
13. The paper bag of claim 10 further comprising a single or double patch affixed to said bag and attached to said handle.
14. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said hemp paper is oil and grease resistant, leakproof, water resistant or a combination of same.
15. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is printable, allowing ink and graphics to be attached to the paper.
16. The paper bag of claim 15 wherein said ink and graphics are printed on the hemp paper bag by digital printing.
17. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is recyclable, compostable, biodegradable or any combination.
18. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is a shopping bag having an insert to give said bag stability and having handles made of twine, cloth or rope.
19. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is sealable, resealable or closeable.
20. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said bag comprises one to twenty five percent hemp.
21. The bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises twenty five to fifty percent hemp.
22. The bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises fifty to seventy five percent hemp.
23. The bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises seventy five to one hundred percent hemp.
24. The bag of claim 1 wherein said remaining percentage of paper that is not hemp comprises a combination of post-consumer waste recycled wood pulp, post-industrial recycled content wood pulp or virgin wood pulp.
25. The bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag has a width between three inches and twenty inches, height between four inches and twenty inches and a basis weight ranging from ten pounds to sixty pounds.
26. A paper bag comprising: hemp paper and a combination of post-consumer waste recycled wood pulp, post-industrial recycled content wood pulp or virgin wood pulp.
27. The paper bag of claim 26 wherein said hemp paper is treated or coated with AKD sizing, a wax derivative.
28. The paper bag of claim 26 wherein said paper bag is a flat bottom paper bag.
29. The paper bag of claim 26 wherein said paper bag is a pinch bottom paper bag.
30. The paper bag of claim 26 wherein said paper bag comprises a window.
31. The paper bag of claim 26 wherein said paper bag comprises gussets.
32. The paper bag of claim 26 wherein said paper bag comprises an opening and a closure mechanism for said opening.
33. The paper bag of claim 26 wherein said paper bag is bleached.
34. The paper bag of claim 26 further comprising a handle.

49. A hemp paper bag comprising: hemp paper having a hurd content of less than fifteen percent.
50. The paper bag of claim 49 wherein remaining percent of hemp paper not made from hurd is made from bast fiber.
51. The paper bag of claim 49 wherein said hemp paper is treated or coated with AKD sizing, a wax derivative.
52. The paper bag of claim 49 wherein said paper bag is a flat bottom paper bag.
53. The paper bag of claim 49 wherein said paper bag is a pinch bottom paper bag.
54. The paper bag of claim 49 wherein said paper bag comprises a window.
55. The paper bag of claim 49 wherein said paper bag comprises gussets.

74. The newsprint of claim 73 wherein said newsprint is comprised of precut newsprint sheets.
75. The newsprint of claim 73 wherein said newsprint comprises one to twenty five percent hemp.
76. The newsprint of claim 73 wherein said newsprint comprises twenty five to fifty percent hemp.
77. The newsprint of claim 73 wherein said newsprint comprises fifty to seventy five percent hemp.
78. The newsprint of claim 73 wherein said newsprint comprises seventy five percent to one hundred percent hemp.
