[0029] At least one edge 33 of the top 30 of the duvet cover 20 and a corresponding edge 43 of the base 40 of the duvet cover 20 are permanently adjoined to each other to define a coupled edge 23 of the duvet cover 20. The coupled edge 23 may comprise a fold in fabric that defines at least portions of the top 30 and the base 40. Alternatively, the coupled edge 23 may be defined by sewing, adhering, bonding, or otherwise securing edge 33 of the top 30 to edge 43 of the base 40.
[0030] In some embodiments, such as that depicted by
[0031] The remaining edges of the duvet cover 20, which edges may be referred to as “fastening edges 24 and 26,” may have configurations that enable the edges 34 and 44, 36 and 46 of the top 30 and base 40, respectively, to be removably secured or reversibly to each other. For example, edges 34 and 44, 36 and 46 may include cooperating elements of a fastener 27 (e.g., zipper halves, buttons and corresponding button holes, touch fasteners, ties, snaps, etc.), which may enable edges 34 and 44 and/or edges 36 and 46 to be selectively coupled to and uncoupled from each other.
[0032] In other embodiments, like that shown in
[0033] The remainder of the length of the partially coupled edge 24′, 25′ is defined by portions of the lengths of edges 34′ and 44′, 35′ and 45′ (not shown) that may be selectively coupled to and uncoupled from each other, or removably secured or reversibly secured to each other, which portions may referred to as “fastening portions 24f, 25f” of the partially coupled edge 24′, 25′. Cooperating elements of one or more fasteners 27′ (e.g., zipper halves, buttons and corresponding button holes, touch fasteners, ties, snaps, etc.) may enable the fastening portions 24f and 25f (partially shown) to be selectively opened (by uncoupling appropriate portions of edges 34′ and 44′ and/or edges 35′ and 45′ (not shown) from each other) or closed (by coupling appropriate portions of edges 34′ and 44′ and/or edges 35′ and 45′ (not shown) to each other).
[0034] Likewise, the remaining edge 26′ of the duvet cover 20′, which edge may be referred to as a “fastening edge 26′,” may have a configuration that enables the edges 36′ and 46′ of the top 30′ and base 40′, respectively, of the duvet cover 20′ to be removably secured or reversibly secured to each other. For example, edges 36′ and 46′ may include cooperating elements of one or more fasteners 27′ (e.g., zipper halves, buttons and corresponding button holes, touch fasteners, ties, snaps, etc.), which may enable the edges 36′ and 46′ to be selectively coupled to and uncoupled from each other.
