    Abstract

    A spray dispensing cleaning implement for cleaning hard to reach places includes a handle that is coupled to a bar. A plurality of bristles is coupled to and extends from a bottom of the bar. The handle is hollow and defines a reservoir that is configured to position a solution. A nozzle is coupled to the bar. A tube is coupled to the nozzle and extends into the reservoir. A pump, which is coupled to and positioned in the reservoir, is operationally coupled to the tube. A trigger is pivotally coupled to the handle and is operationally coupled to the pump. The handle is configured to be grasped in a hand of a user positioning a digit of the hand to pivot the trigger to actuate the pump to spray the solution from the nozzle onto a surface. The user brushes the bristles on the surface to clean the surface.

    Claims

    1. A spray dispensing cleaning implement comprising: a bar, the bar having a top, a second end, and opposing sides, the bottom being flat, the top being arcuate, the first end and the second end being arcuate, the opposing sides extending angularly between the first end and the second end such that the bar is tapered with the bar being wider at the first end than the second end, the opposing sides each having a length such that the bar is elongated between the first end and the second end; a plurality of bristles coupled to and extending substantially perpendicularly from a bottom of the bar; a handle coupled to and extending from a first end of the bar, the handle being hollow defining a reservoir wherein the reservoir is configured for positioning a solution, the handle comprising: a neck coupled to and extending arcuately from the bar, the neck being substantially circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally, and a body coupled to and extending from the neck such that the bar is offset from the body, the body being substantially circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally, the body being circumferentially larger than the neck, a maximum diameter of the body being greater than a maximum width of the bar measured between the opposing sides of the bar perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the bar; a nozzle coupled to the bar; a tube coupled to the nozzle and extending into the reservoir such that the nozzle is in fluidic communication with the reservoir; a pump coupled to and positioned in the reservoir, the pump being operationally coupled to the tube; and a trigger pivotally coupled to the handle, the trigger being operationally coupled to the pump wherein the handle is configured for grasping in a hand of a user positioning a digit of the hand for pivoting the trigger for actuating the pump for spraying the solution from the nozzle onto a surface positioning the user for brushing the bristles on the surface with the handle for cleaning the surface.

The implement of claim 1, further including the plurality of bristles comprising a subset of bristles coupled to the bar proximate to the second end, each bristle of the subset of bristles extending transversely from the bar such that the subset of bristles extends past the second end of the bar wherein the subset of bristles is configured for selectively inserting into a crevice and a corner.

    5. The implement of claim 1, further comprising: the neck being tapered extending towards the bar such that the neck is circumferentially larger distal from the bar; and the body being circumferentially larger proximate to a centerline of the body such that the body is elongated egg shaped.

The implement of claim 1, further comprising: the handle having a terminus distal from the bar, the terminus being open; and a plug complementary to the terminus of the handle wherein the plug is positioned for inserting into the terminus of the handle for frictionally coupling to the handle for sealably closing the terminus.

    7. The implement of claim 6, further including the plug comprising a disc and a protrusion, the disc being complementary to the terminus of the handle, the protrusion being coupled to and extending from an outer face of the disc wherein the protrusion is configured for grasping in digits of the hand of the user for selectively inserting the disc into the terminus of the handle for frictionally coupling the disc to the handle for sealably closing the terminus, the protrusion being circumferentially smaller distal from the disc such that the protrusion is pointedly tapered.

    8. The implement of claim 7, further including a hole positioned through the protrusion wherein the hole is configured for selectively inserting a fastener coupled to a support for coupling the handle to the support.

The implement of claim 1, further including a grip coupled to an upper face of the handle, the grip being resilient wherein the grip is configured for enhancing a grasp of the hand of the user on the handle, the grip comprising rubber, the grip having an outer perimeter, the outer perimeter being sinuous.

    10. The implement of claim 1, further including the nozzle being positioned proximate to a second end of the bar.

    11. The implement of claim 1, further including the tube extending into the body to proximate to a centerline of the body and a lower face of the handle.

    12. The implement of claim 1, further including the pump being positive displacement type.

    13. The implement of claim 1, further including the pump being positioned in the neck.

    14. The implement of claim 1, further including the trigger being coupled to the neck and extending from a lower face of the handle.

    15. The implement of claim 9, further including the handle being bifurcated such that an upper branch and a lower branch of the handle define an orifice wherein the orifice is configured for inserting at least one of a middle, a ring and a little finger of the hand positioning a thumb of the hand for completing a grasp of the hand on the upper branch of the handle and positioning an index finger of the hand for pivoting the trigger for actuating the pump.

    16. The implement of claim 15, further including the grip being positioned around a circumference of the orifice.

    17. A spray dispensing cleaning implement comprising: a bar, the bar having a top, a bottom, a first end, a second end, and opposing sides, the bottom being flat, the top being arcuate, the first end and the second end being arcuate, the opposing sides extending angularly between the first end and the second end such that the bar is tapered with the bar being wider at the first end than the second end, the opposing sides each having a length such that the bar is elongated between the first end and the second end; a plurality of bristles coupled to and extending substantially perpendicularly from the bottom of the bar, the plurality of bristles comprising a subset of bristles coupled to the bar proximate to the second end, each bristle of the subset of bristles extending transversely from the bar such that the subset of bristles extends past the second end of the bar wherein the subset of bristles is configured for selectively inserting into a crevice and a corner; a handle coupled to and extending from the first end of the bar, the handle being hollow defining a reservoir wherein the reservoir is configured for positioning a solution, the handle having a terminus distal from the bar, the terminus being open, the handle comprising: a neck coupled to and extending arcuately from the bar, the neck being substantially circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally, the neck tapered extending towards the bar such that the neck is circumferentially larger distal from the bar, and a body coupled to and extending from the neck such that the bar is offset from the body, the body being circumferentially larger than the neck, the body being substantially circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally, the body being circumferentially larger proximate to a centerline of the body such that the body is elongated egg shaped, a maximum diameter of the body being greater than a maximum width of the bar measured between the opposing sides of the bar perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the bar; a plug complementary to the terminus of the handle wherein the plug is positioned for inserting into the terminus of the handle for frictionally coupling to the handle for sealably closing the terminus, the plug comprising a disc and a protrusion, the disc being complementary to the terminus of the handle, the protrusion being coupled to and extending from an outer face of the disc wherein the protrusion is configured for grasping in digits of a hand of a user for selectively inserting the disc into the terminus of the handle for frictionally coupling the disc to the handle for sealably closing the terminus, the protrusion being circumferentially smaller distal from the disc such that the protrusion is pointedly tapered; a hole positioned through the protrusion wherein the hole is configured for selectively inserting a fastener coupled to a support for coupling the handle to the support; a grip coupled to an upper face of the handle, the grip being resilient wherein the grip is configured for enhancing a grasp of the hand of the user on the handle, the grip comprising rubber, the grip having an outer perimeter, the outer perimeter being sinuous; a nozzle coupled to the bar, the nozzle being positioned proximate to the second end of the bar; a tube coupled to the nozzle and extending into the reservoir such that the nozzle is in fluidic communication with the reservoir, the tube extending into the body to proximate to the centerline and a lower face of the handle; a pump coupled to and positioned in the reservoir, the pump being operationally coupled to the tube, the pump being positive displacement type, the pump being positioned in the neck; and a trigger pivotally coupled to the handle, the trigger being operationally coupled to the pump wherein the handle is configured for grasping in the hand of the user positioning a digit of the hand for pivoting the trigger for actuating the pump for spraying the solution from the nozzle onto a surface positioning the user for brushing the bristles on the surface with the handle for cleaning the surface, the trigger being coupled to the neck and extending from the lower face of the handle.

The implement of claim 17, further including the handle being bifurcated such that an upper branch and a lower branch of the handle define an orifice wherein the orifice is configured for inserting at least one of a middle, a ring and a little finger of the hand positioning a thumb of the hand for completing a grasp of the hand on the upper branch of the handle and positioning an index finger of the hand for pivoting the trigger for actuating the pump, the grip being positioned around a circumference of the orifice.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

    [0017] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new cleaning implement embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

    [0018] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the spray dispensing cleaning implement 10 generally comprises a bar 12 that has a top 14, a bottom 16, a first end 18, a second end 20, and opposing sides 22. The bottom 16 is flat. The top 14 is arcuate, the first end 18, and the second end 20 are arcuate. The opposing sides 22 extends angularly between the first end 18 and the second end 20 so that the bar 12 is tapered. The bar 12 is wider at the second end 20 than the first end 18, as shown in FIG. 3.

    [0019] A plurality of bristles 24 is coupled to and extends substantially perpendicularly from the bottom 16 of the bar 12. The plurality of bristles 24 comprises a subset of bristles 70 that is coupled to the bar 12 proximate to the second end 20. Each bristle 70 of the subset of bristles 70 extends transversely from the bar 12 so that the subset of bristles 70 extends past the second end 20 of the bar 12, as shown in FIG. 2. The subset of bristles 70 is configured to selectively insert into a crevice, a corner, or other hard to reach area.

    [0020] A handle 26 is coupled to and extends from the first end 18 of the bar 12. The handle 26 is hollow and defines a reservoir 28 that is configured to position a solution, such as bleach. The handle 26 comprises a neck 30 and a body 32. The neck 30 is coupled to and extends arcuately from the bar 12, as shown in FIG. 2. The neck 30 is substantially circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally. The neck 30 is circumferentially larger distal from the bar 12 so that the neck 30 is tapered.

    [0021] The body 32 is coupled to and extends from the neck 30 so that the body 32 is substantially parallel to the bar 12 and so that the bar 12 is offset from the body 32, as shown in FIG. 2. The body 32 is circumferentially larger than the neck 30. The body 32 is substantially circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally. The body 32 is circumferentially larger proximate to a centerline 34 of the body 32 so that the body 32 is elongated egg shaped.

    [0022] The handle 26 has a terminus 36 distal from the bar 12 that is open. A plug 38, which is complementary to the terminus 36, is positioned to insert into the terminus 36 of the handle 26 to frictionally couple to the handle 26 to sealably close the terminus 36, as shown in FIG. 5.

    [0023] The plug 38 comprises a disc 40 and a protrusion 42. The disc 40 is complementary to the terminus 36 of the handle 26. The protrusion 42 is coupled to and extends from an outer face 44 of the disc 40. The protrusion 42 is configured to be grasped in digits of a hand of a user to selectively insert the disc 40 into the terminus 36 of the handle 26 to frictionally couple the disc 40 to the handle 26 to sealably close the terminus 36. The protrusion 42 is circumferentially smaller distal from the disc 40 so that the protrusion 42 is pointedly tapered.

    [0024] A hole 46 is positioned through the protrusion 42. The hole 46 is configured to selectively insert a fastener, such as a hook, that is coupled to a support to couple the handle 12 to the support.

    [0025] A grip 48 is coupled to an upper face 50 of the handle 26, as shown in FIG. 1. The grip 48 is resilient, comprising rubber or the like. The grip 48 is configured to enhance a grasp of the hand of the user on the handle 26. The grip 48 has an outer perimeter 54 that is sinuous.

    [0026] A nozzle 56 is coupled to the bar 12, as shown in FIG. 5. The nozzle 56 is positioned proximate to the second end 20 of the bar 12. A tube 58 is coupled to the nozzle 56 and extends into the reservoir 28 so that the nozzle 56 is in fluidic communication with the reservoir 28, as shown in FIG. 5. The tube 58 extends into the body 32 to proximate to the centerline 34 and the lower face 52 of the handle 12.

    [0027] A pump 60 is coupled to and positioned in the reservoir 28, as shown in FIG. 5. The pump 60 is operationally coupled to the tube 58. The pump 60 is positive displacement type. The pump 60 is positioned in the neck 30.

    [0028] A trigger 62 pivotally is coupled to the handle 26. The trigger 62 is operationally coupled to the pump 60. The handle 26 is configured to be grasped in the hand of the user positioning a digit of the hand to pivot the trigger 62 to actuate the pump 60 to spray the solution from the nozzle 56 onto a surface. The user is positioned to brush the bristles 24 on the surface with the handle 26 to clean the surface.

    [0029] The trigger 62 is coupled to the neck 30 and extends from the lower face 52 of the handle 12, as shown in FIG. 5. The present invention is suited to clean corners of a shower, magnetic gaskets on a refrigerator, tire rims, and boats, to name a just a few potential uses.

    [0030] In another embodiment of the invention, as shown in FIG. 6, the handle 12 is bifurcated so that an upper branch 64 and a lower branch 66 of the handle 12 define an orifice 68. The orifice 68 is configured to insert at least one of a middle, a ring, and a little finger of the hand. A thumb of the hand is positioned to complete a grasp of the hand on the upper branch 64 of the handle 12, positioning an index finger of the hand to pivot the trigger 62 to actuate the pump 60. In this embodiment, the grip 48 is positioned around a circumference of the orifice 68.

    [0031] In use, a cleaning solution of choice is positioned in the reservoir 28. The cleaning solution is dispensed as a spray, as required, by pivoting the trigger 62 to actuate the pump 60 to spray the solution from the nozzle 56 onto the surface. The user then brushes the bristles 24 on the surface with the handle 26 to clean the surface.
