    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0024] Reference throughout this specification to one embodiment, an embodiment, or similar language means that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic described in connection with the embodiment is included in at least one embodiment of the present invention. Thus, appearances of the phrases in one embodiment, in an embodiment, and similar language throughout this specification may, but do not necessarily, all refer to the same embodiment.

[0025] Furthermore, the described features, structures, or characteristics of the invention may be combined in any suitable manner in one or more embodiments. In the following description, numerous specific details are provided, such as examples of programming, software modules, user selections, network transactions, database queries, database structures, hardware modules, hardware circuits, hardware chips, etc., to provide a thorough understanding of embodiments of the invention. One skilled in the relevant art will recognize, however, that the invention may be practiced without one or more of the specific details, or with other methods, components, materials, and so forth. In other instances, well-known structures, materials, or operations are not shown or described in detail to avoid obscuring aspects of the invention.

[0026] It an object of the present invention to provide a novel collapsible suit jacket with integrated concealing pocket for stowing and porting the suit jacket.

[0027] FIG. 1 is a forward perspective view of a collapsible suit jacket with integrated pocket 100 in accordance with the present invention.

[0028] The suit jacket comprises an inner surface 102 (or inner lining). The inner surface 102 may comprise simply an interior surface of a woolen suit jacket or may comprise any species of lining known to those of skill in the art, including silk, polyester or the like. Both the right side 106 of the suit 100 and the left side 108 of the suit 100 are stitched, sewn, or otherwise affixed using means known to those of skill in the art to the bifurcated pocket member 104a or 104b.

[0029] In the shown embodiment, both the right pocket member 104a and the left pocket member 104b are stitched along their upper surfaces to the inner lining 102. The pocket members 104a-b may be stitched in other embodiments around their circumference. Each of the pocket members 104a-b are circumscribed with a zipper tape and zipper teeth as known to those of skill in the art and adapted to be zipped together to form a pocket into which the suit 100 collapses.

[0030] FIG. 2 is a forward perspective view of a collapsible suit jacket with integrated pocket 200 in accordance with the present invention.

[0031] The left pocket member 104a comprises a strap 202 which affixes to an exterior surface of the left pocket member 104a. The strap 202 is used to affix the suit 200 in collapsed form to handlebars on a bicycle, around the wrist of user, or the like. The strap may comprise one or more buckles, snaps, or other affixation means known to those of skill in the art. The strap may be adjustable in length and size. In various embodiments, the strap is detachably affixable to one of the pocket members 104.

[0032] The collapsible suit 200 also comprises a zipper slider 204 adapted to mate corresponding rows of zipper teeth on each of the pocket member 104a-b together.

[0033] FIG. 3 is a forward perspective view of a collapsible suit jacket in partially collapsed configuration with integrated pocket 300 in accordance with the present invention.

[0034] The pocket members 104a-b are shown stitched around all four edges to the suit 302. The suit 302 is bunched up into a ball and zipped up within the pocket formed by the pocket members 104a-b as shown. The pocket members 104 may be rectangular, square, circular, or irregularly shaped.

[0035] Notably, the stitching 308 in the shown embodiment is recessed away from the edge of the pocket members 104a-b such that sidewalls 304a-b form when the pocket members 104a-b are zipped together adding volume to the recess within the formed pocket. Thus, the stitching 308 circumscribes the pocket members within several inches of the edge of each pocket member 104a-b. In the shown embodiment, the stitching is recessed 1.5 inches away from the zipper slider 204. In other embodiments, however, the stitching is not recessed from the edge of the pocket members 104.

[0036] FIG. 4 is a forward perspective view of a collapsible suit jacket in collapsed configuration with integrated pocket 400 in accordance with the present invention.

[0037] The pocket 402 which is formed by joining the pocket members 104a-b is indicated as shown. The pocket fully envelopes the body of the suit 302. Zipper tape and/or zipper teeth 704 circumscribe the pocket members 104a-b.

[0038] FIG. 5 is a forward perspective view of a collapsible suit jacket with integrated pocket in accordance with the present invention.

[0039] As shown, the pocket members 104a-b are concealed.

[0040] FIG. 6 is a rearward perspective view of a collapsible suit jacket with integrated pocket in accordance with the present invention.

[0041] As shown, the pocket members 104a-b are concealed.

[0042] FIG. 7 is a stitching pattern of a collapsible suit jacket with integrated pocket in accordance with the present invention.

[0043] The pocket members 104a-b are shown affixed to the inner surface 102 of the suit 700.

[0044] In some embodiments of the present invention, the suite 700 consists or includes only a single pocket member 104 which zips to itself to form the pocket 402. In this embodiment, the pocket member 104 comprises a row of zipper teeth having two terminal ends. One terminal end of the zipper teeth is mated to the other terminal end of the zipper teeth and the teeth are joined together using the slider 202 to form the pocket 402 from a single pocket member 104.

[0045] The pocket member(s) 104 may be position anywhere on the inner surface 102. The pocket members 104 may be made from waterproof or water resistant materials, such as those of Sonobond.

[0046] The present invention may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from its spirit or essential characteristics. The described embodiments are to be considered in all respects only as illustrative and not restrictive. The scope of the invention is, therefore, indicated by the appended claims rather than by the foregoing description. All changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are to be embraced within their scope.
