Abstract
A method of cleaning and restoring makeup brushes. The makeup brushes can be contacted with an aqueous ozone solution to remove debris and sanitize the makeup brush. The makeup brush can also be contacted with a tincture solution to aid in the removal of debris. The makeup brush can also be vibrated or agitated to further aid in the removal of debris from the makeup brush.
Claims
1. A method of cleaning and restoring a makeup brush, the method comprising: contacting the makeup brush with an aqueous ozone solution to remove debris and sanitize the makeup brush.
2. The process of claim 1 further comprising the step of soaking the makeup brush in a tincture solution.
3. The process of claim 1 further comprising the step of drying the makeup brush.
4. The process of claim 2 further comprising the step of agitating the makeup brush in the tincture solution to remove debris from bristles of the makeup brush.
5. The process of claim 4 wherein agitation of the makeup brush occurs via a vibration device.
6. The process of claim 5 wherein the makeup brush is attached to the vibration device to agitate the makeup brush in the tincture solution.
7. The process of claim 5 wherein the makeup brush is disposed in a container with the tincture solution and the vibration device is connected to the container to agitate the makeup brush in the tincture solution.
8. The process of claim 5 wherein the vibration device can be placed into the tincture solution to cause the tincture solution to be agitated around the makeup brush.
9. The process of claim 1 further comprising rinsing the makeup brush before the makeup brush is contacted by the aqueous ozone solution.
10. The process of claim 9 further comprising rinsing the makeup brush after contacting the makeup brush with the aqueous ozone solution.
11. The process of claim 1 wherein the aqueous ozone solution is generated by infusing ozone into water or an aqueous based solution.
12. The process of claim 3 wherein the makeup brush is dried by hanging the makeup brush up.
13. The process of claim 3 wherein the makeup brush is dried by blowing air over the makeup brush.
14. The process of claim 3 wherein the makeup brush is dried by blowing heated air over the makeup brush.
15. The process of claim 3 wherein the makeup brush is dried using an air blower using auto induction with a mild air output.
16. The process of claim 1 wherein the aqueous ozone solution is poured over the makeup brush.
17. The process of claim 16 wherein the aqueous ozone solution is caused to contact the makeup brush by passing the aqueous ozone solution through a hose or tube.
18. The process of claim 1 wherein the makeup brush contacts the aqueous ozone solution by placing the makeup brush in a container filled with the aqueous ozone solution.
19. The process of claim 12 wherein the tincture solution includes glycerin and vegetable oil.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0013] The present disclosure relates to a method for cleaning makeup brushes 10 to remove debris 12 and oils built up on the bristles 14 and even the handle 16 during use of the makeup brush 10.
[0014] In one embodiment, the tincture solution 18 includes glycerin and vegetable oil. The tincture solution 18 can also include ethanol and/or lavender oil added to the glycerin and vegetable oil. One commercially available tincture solution that can be used is called tincture of green soap. It should be understood and appreciated that the tincture solution 18 can include any constituents known for use in tincture solutions (or even more specifically in use with tincture of green soaps). The tincture solution 18 is capable of cleaning and sanitizing surfaces on which it is applied. It is also good for disinfecting skin.
[0015] The method also includes the step of agitating the tincture solution 18 with the makeup brushes 10 disposed therein, which agitates the tincture solution 18 around the bristles 14 and handle 16 of the makeup brush 10. In an alternate embodiment shown in
[0016] After the makeup brushes have soaked in the tincture solution 18 for a predetermined amount of time and/or agitated or vibrated, the makeup brushes 10 can be provided to an aqueous ozone solution 24 to sanitize the makeup brushes 10. In one embodiment, the makeup brushes 10 can be rinsed before being provided to the aqueous ozone solution 24. The aqueous ozone solution 24 can be generated by generating ozone (O.sub.3) from oxygen (O.sub.2). The O.sub.3 can then be infused into an aqueous or water-based solution to create the aqueous ozone solution 24. The aqueous ozone solution 24 can be applied to the brushes 10 via any manner known in the art. The aqueous ozone solution 24 can be poured over the brushes 10/bristles 14 via a hose or tubing, the brushes 10/bristles 14 can be subjected to a container of the aqueous ozone solution 24 and sanitized that way, etc.
[0017] After the makeup brushes have been cleaned and sanitized, the bristles 14 of the makeup brushes are dried. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the makeup brushes 10 can be rinsed with water before they are dried. The makeup brushes 10 can be dried by subjecting them to air (i.e., just hanging them up), heated air, or blown heated air. In one embodiment, the brushes 10 can be dried using an air blower using auto induction with a mild air output. It should be understood and appreciated that the makeup brushes 10 can be dried in any manner known in the art such that the makeup brushes 10 can properly dried.
[0018] From the above description, it is clear that the present disclosure is well-adapted to carry out the objectives and to attain the advantages mentioned herein as well as those inherent in the disclosure. While presently preferred embodiments have been described herein, it will be understood that numerous changes may be made which will readily suggest themselves to those skilled in the art and which are accomplished within the spirit of the disclosure and claims.
