CROW REDUCING ROOSTER AND POULTRY COLLAR

Abstract

The present invention is an apparatus that wraps around the neck of an animal, such as a rooster. The apparatus may be adjustable for different size animals and birds' necks to restrict the neck from expanding during the crowing process, which reduces the volume or eliminates the sound of the crow.

Claims

1. A rooster collar (10), comprising: a length (100); a width (110); and a means to secure the rooster collar (10) to the rooster (130); whereby said length (100) encircles a rooster's neck, and said width (110) is spans a portion of the length of the rooster's neck.

2. The rooster collar (10) of claim 1, whereby said means to secure the rooster collar (10) is a hook portion (20) disposed on one side (50, 60) of the rooster collar, and a loop portion (40) disposed on the other side (60, 50) of the rooster collar.

3. The rooster collar (10) of claim 1, whereby said portion of the length of the rooster's neck is at least 50% of the length of the rooster's neck.

4. The rooster collar (10) of claim 1, whereby said portion of the length of the rooster's neck is at least 70% of the length of the rooster's neck.

5. The rooster collar (10) of claim 1, whereby said portion of the length of the rooster's neck is at least 90% of the length of the rooster's neck.

6. The rooster collar (10) of claim 1, further comprising a loop portion (40) on an inside of collar (60), and a hook portion (20) on an outside of collar, whereby said hook portion (20) is removably connected to said loop portion (40).

7. The rooster collar (10) of claim 1, further comprising: the rooster collar having strips (90) extending lengthwise; said strips (90) having a hook portion (20) disposed thereon; said strips having a loop portion (40) disposed so as to removably attach to said hook portion (20) to removably attach the rooster collar (10) to a rooster's neck.

8. A rooster collar (10), comprising: a plurality of lengthwise strips (90); a mesh portion (30) disposed between said strips (90); said strip (90) having a loop portion (40) on an inside of collar (60); said strip (90) having a hook portion (20) on an outside of collar (50); a length (100) that is longer than a perimeter of a rooster's neck; a width (110); whereby said loop portion (40) is removably secured to said hook portion (20) to secure the rooster collar (10) to the rooster's neck.

[0051] In some situations the collar 10 is placed on the rooster for about 5 to 10 minutes, until the rooster becomes accustomed to it, then it can be on for longer periods of time, until the collar can remain on the rooster for days or permanently.
