    Description

    (I) BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

[0012] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

[0013] FIG. 1 is a rear isometric view of a protective glove assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0014] FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0015] FIG. 3 is a rear view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0016] FIG. 4 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0017] FIG. 5 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0018] FIG. 6 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

    (j) DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0019] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new glove device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

[0020] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the protective glove assembly 10 generally comprises a glove 12 including a back hand covering 14, a palm covering 16 and five finger sleeves 18. The finger sleeves 18 include a thumb sleeve 20, an index finger sleeve 22, a middle finger sleeve 24, a ring finger sleeve 26, and a pinky finger sleeve 28. The glove may include a cuff 29 which may include resiliently elastic material.

[0021] The glove 12 is comprised of a heat and cut resistant material. Multiple materials may be utilized for this purpose and may include, for example, nylon, polyester, leather, and Kevlar materials. The materials may further be selected based upon their ability to provide additional gripping when used by a person.

[0022] In one embodiment, the pinky sleeve 28 and the ring finger sleeve 26 each have an open end 30 and have a length configured to only extend over the proximal and middle phalanx bones of a person's hand. In a second embodiment, as shown in FIG. 6, all finger sleeves 18 have an open end 30 and a similarly configured length. This will allow a person's fingers to be covered except for the very end of their fingers at the base of their nails. For particular tasks, such as when a hairstylist is styling hair, it is beneficial to have the ability to have some direct feeling while covering the remaining portions of the fingers. The open ends 30 will allow the user to utilize the tips of the exposed fingers.

[0023] For those finger sleeves 18 that are open, each has a distal end with respect to the palm covering. The distal ends each comprise a resiliently stretchable loop 32. The stretchable loops 32 enhances the friction between the finger sleeves and the user's fingers to retain the finger sleeves near the user's fingernails.

[0024] As can be seen in FIGS. 2 and 6, the palm covering 16 may including a large aperture 34. The aperture 34 may be generally heart shaped to expose a portion of the user's palm. While the Figures show the aperture 34 extending from the cuff 29 to the Finger sleeves 18, its size may be variable. The aperture 34 allows for less overall bulk of the assembly 10 as well as providing more dexterity for opening and closing the hand and a means for preventing heat buildup within the assembly 10.

[0025] In use, the user places the assembly 10 on their hand such that the pinky and ring fingertips or, in the case of the second embodiment, all fingertips are exposed. The assembly 10 protects the covered portions of the hand and fingers while allowing the exposed fingertips to provide tactile feedback as needed. For example, a hairstylist will be able to feel and manipulate hair with their fingertips while the covered portions of their hands and fingers are protected from the heat of curling irons and the blades of a scissors.

[0026] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0027] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word comprising is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article a does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
