Abstract
Athletic garments having thermogenic, non-slip interior lining at selected locations to provide structural support, provide a thermogenic effect to the user, and to render the garment non-slipping. The garments may be leggings, shirts, shorts, bras or other garments and may be manufactured of nylon with lycra or other materials, with the lining manufactured of silicone, rubber, latex or plastic.
Claims

Description
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0002] A detailed description of the preferred embodiments is provided below by way of example only and with reference to the following drawings, in which:
[0003]
[0004]
[0005]
[0006]
[0007]
[0008]
[0009] In the drawings, several embodiments of the invention are illustrated by way of example. It is to be expressly understood that the description and drawings are only for the purpose of illustration and as an aid to understanding, and are not intended as a definition of the limits of the invention.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0010] It is known to provide athletic leggings. Prior art athletic leggings may provide support to the buttocks and legs, but do not assist with weight loss and toning. It is desirable, therefore, to provide athletic leggings which include features to increase weight loss and toning efficiency.
[0011] It is also desirable in a legging to provide non-slip area within the clothing using materials which result in a comfortable and attractive piece of clothing.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0012] As depicted in
[0013] In the preferred embodiment, the front and back panels rise higher than standard prior art athletic leggings, preferably having a front rise of 30.5 centimetres. The front and rear panels are lined and double layered to provide a smooth upper finish at the waist opening. Preferably, the leg length is shorter than standard athletic leggings, having an inseam length of 68.5 centimetres. Preferably, the pockets have a width of 9 centimetres and a height of 15.5 centimetres. Preferably, the fabric used to manufacture the legging is nylon with lycra.
[0014] As depicted in
[0015] In alternate embodiments, silicone lining may be provided in other areas of the legging.
[0016] The silicone lining causes a thermogenic effect for the user below the thermogenic zones, increasing the core body temperature. The increase in core body temperature increases calorie burning for more effective weight loss and toning.
[0017] The presence of the silicone lining also provides additional structure and support to the legging, supporting stomach, lower back, buttocks and thighs. The silicone lining also provides the additional benefit of increased traction, creating a non-slip grip to prevent pants from falling down during exercise or otherwise.
[0018] According to one embodiment, artwork such as text or logos may be printed on the leggings at desired locations. According to this embodiment, the lining may be provided as art, text, or logos using silicone printing, rather than simply as full silicone panels.
[0019] In the preferred embodiment, the thermogenic non-slip lining is manufactured of silicone. In alternate embodiments, rubber, latex or various plastics could instead be used. Other materials are also possible and are understood to be included within the invention.
[0020] According to another aspect of the present invention, thermogenic non-slip linings may be added to shirts, shorts, underwear, bras, bathing suits, shapewear and other garments.
[0021] The invention comprises leggings with silicone lining in selected areas. In addition, it is within the scope of the invention to provide silicon lining elements which may be added to prior art leggings to provide the benefits of silicon linings.
[0022] As many possible embodiments may be made of the invention without departing from the scope of the claims, it is to be understood that all matter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying drawings is to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
[0023] It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that other variations of the preferred embodiment may also be practised without departing from the scope of the invention.
