    (13) Referring now to FIGS. 1, 2, 5 and 6, there is illustrated a conventional water pipe, generally designated 100. In FIGS. 3-7 there is shown an exemplary embodiment of a lighter holder attachment accessory, generally designated 200, in accordance with aspects of the present invention. In FIGS. 6 and 7 the accessory 200 is shown as it is generally intended to be deployed on the water pipe 100. Specifically, the accessory 200 may be installed about the tubular stem 102 of the water pipe 100 where it is spaced below a top mouthpiece 104 on the tubular stem 102 and above a water compartment 106 of the water pipe 100 that supports the tubular stem 102. The use of the water pipe 100 is basically as described previously herein in the Background of the Invention section. The accessory 200 primarily affects the handling of a conventional pocket lighter, generally designated 300, that is shown in FIGS. 3-7. From FIGS. 1-7 it can be readily comprehended that the lighter holder attachment accessory 200 basically includes an attachment component 202 and a holder component 204.

    (14) Referring again to FIGS. 1 and 2, the attachment component 202 of the lighter holder attachment accessory 200 is respectively shown before and after installation on the water pipe 100. As best seen in FIG. 1, the attachment component 202 includes an elongated strap 206, preferably of a rectangular configuration, made of a suitable elastic material, and having a pair of opposite sides or surfaces 206a, 206b. The elongated strap 206 has attachment materials affixed on and respectively covering one and the other of the opposite sides or surfaces 206a, 206b. The attachment materials may be in the form hook and loop materials or magnetically-attractive materials such that the elongated strap 206 is provided by a double-sided hook and loop strap or magnetically-attractive strap. Alternatively, the attachment materials may be a plurality of strips 208 affixed on the elongated strap 206 having the same types of attachment materials thereon. Thus, the elongated strap 206 provides a stretchable band that can be securely fitted around the tubular stem 102 of the water pipe 100.

    (15) More particularly, the plurality of strips 208 includes a first strip 210, a second strip 212 and a third strip 214. One of the first strip 210 and second strip 212 has a hook material thereon, while the other of the first strip 210 and second strip 212 has a loop material thereon, or alternatively both have magnetic materials being attractive to one another, such that the first strip 210 and second strip 212 are attachable to and detachable from one another. The first strip 210 and second strip 212 are respectively located proximate to, and affixed such as sewn on, opposite free end portions 216, 218 of the elongated strap 206 on opposite surfaces or sides 206a, 206b thereof so as to enable the elongated strap 206 to attach to itself at it opposite free end portions 216, 218 and thereby be snugly and securely fitted around any diameter size of the tubular stem 102 of the water pipe 100. The third strip 214 has one of a hook material or a loop material thereon, or alternatively has a magnetic material thereon, such that the third strip 214 is attachable to and detachable from another strip being attractively complementary thereto. The third strip 214 is respectively located proximate to, and affixed such as sewn on, a middle portion 220 of the elongated strap 206 on an outwardly facing side thereof.

    (16) As seen in FIG. 2, the opposite free end portions 216, 218 of the elongated elastic strap 206 overlap and secure with one another. Although not shown, at the overlap the first and second strips 210, 212 are engaged, and specifically detachably attached, with one another so as to enable the elongated elastic strap 206 to be snugly fitted around and secured to respective tubular stems of different water pipes where the stems may differ in diameter size.

    (17) Referring now to FIGS. 3 and 4, the holder component 204 of the lighter holder attachment accessory 200 is respectively shown before (FIG. 3) and after (FIG. 4) insertion of the pocket lighter 300 into the holder component 204. More particularly, the holder component 204 has a continuous sleeve or sidewall 222 of flexible material of a tubular configuration. The continuous sidewall 222 is closed at a bottom end 224 and open at a top end 226 so as to form an interior compartment 228 for receiving the pocket lighter 300 therein through the open top end 226. The holder component 204 also has an exterior attachment strip 230 attached on an outwardly facing side of the continuous sidewall 222. The strip 230 either is wrapped around the continuous sidewall 222 or located at one side portion thereof, as best seen in FIGS. 3-5. The strip 230 has the other of a hook material or a loop material thereon, or alternatively has a magnetic material thereon, so as to be detachably attachable to the third strip 214 on the elongated strap 206 of the attachment component 202, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, such that the holder component 204 with the pocket lighter 300 received therein may be temporarily detached from the elongated strap 206 of the attachment component 202, as shown in FIG. 5, to enable the lighter to be used without being removed from the interior compartment 228 of the continuous sidewall 222 of the holder component 204.

    (18) By way of example only, the elongated strap 206 of the attachment component 202 may be made of a suitable elastic material approximately 5 inches in length and 1 inches in width. Each of the three strips 210, 212, 218 may be approximately inch in width and the same length as the width of the elongated strap 206. The elongated elastic strap 206 of the attachment component 202 may be made from double-sided Velcro hook and loop material. The strips 212, 214, 216 on the elongated elastic strap 206 of the attachment component 202 and the strip 230 of the holder component 204 may be made from Velcro hook and loop material. The continuous sidewall 222 of the holder component 204 may be made of rectangular piece of silicone material or, alternatively, a rectangular piece of plastic canvas, approximately 22 inches, and a piece of fabric, approximately 34 inches. Hot glue may be applied to one side of the piece of fabric before it is placed over the piece of plastic canvas. Three edges of the extra fabric may be folded over the edges of the piece of plastic canvas and adhered thereto. Hot glue may also be applied along one of the longer edges of the piece of plastic canvas after which the longer edges are brought together and overlapped to form a cylinder. The four edge of extra fabric may be folded and hot glued across one end of the cylinder to form a bottom end of holder component.

    (19) To recap, the numerous benefits of the present invention are the following: (1) it makes the process of passing a water pipe and lighter easier when smoking with a group of two or more people; (2) the lighter owner doesn't need to worry as much about someone misplacing or stealing the lighter in a group setting because it will be in the holder component; (3) it is less likely the lighter will be lost since it is indirectly attached to the water pipe while not in use; and (4) it makes smoking from a water pipe a more convenient action since the lighter is accessible right on the water pipe and can easily be put back or reattached right after use.

    (20) Referring now to FIGS. 8 and 9, there is illustrated an alternate exemplary embodiment of the holder component accessory, now generally designated reference numeral 400, in accordance with the aspect of the present invention. Like features of the holder component attachment accessory 200 and 400 are numbered the same except preceded by the numeral 4. The holder component 404 has a continuous sleeve or sidewall 422 of flexible material of a tubular configuration that is both durable and liquid and fire retardant. The continuous sidewall 422 is closed at a bottom end 424 and open at a top end 426 so as to form an interior compartment 428 for receiving the pocket lighter 300 therein through the open top end 326. An outwardly projecting member 432 is provided on the outwardly (or exterior) facing side of the continuous sidewall 422 and extending longitudinally from the top end 426 of the holder 404 to the bottom end 424 of the holder 404, thereby providing a surface platform wherein an exterior attachment strip 430 may be attached thereon. The strip 430 may also employ alternative means such as, a hook material, loop material, or magnetic material, so as to be detachably attachable to the double sided attachable material 434 on the attachment component accessory 402. The interior compartment 428 proximate the top end 426 of the holder 404 is aligned with a strip of material 430 that provides frictional contact with the lighter 300 when inserted inside of the interior compartment 428. So as to prevent the accidental ejection of the lighter 300 when the holder 404 is not in a vertical position (i.e. when the holder is in an angular position as it is being carried or affixed to the attachment component 402).

    (21) As is more clearly shown on FIG. 9, the lighter attachment accessory 400 may be employed and utilized for other intended uses. For example, the attachment component 402 may be made out of a double sided selectively attachable material 434 that is selectively affixed to the shoulder strap 442 of a backpack 440. Likewise, the lighter holder attachment accessory 400 may be generally attached to multiple surfaces, for instance, an interior surface of a car, or a person's belt, desk, grill, etc., or selectively secured around a myriad of objects, such as, back packs, hiking poles, candle fixtures, etc., without departing from the intended scope of the invention.

    (22) The above-described embodiments are merely exemplary illustrations of implementations set forth for a clear understanding of the principles of the invention. Many variations, combinations, modifications or equivalents may be substituted for elements thereof without departing from the scope of the invention. Therefore, it is intended that the invention not be limited to the particular embodiments disclosed as the best mode contemplated for carrying out this invention, but that the invention will include all the embodiments falling within the scope of the appended claims.
