    Description

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0020] Preferred embodiments of the invention are described in detail below using the accompanying drawings. In the drawings:

[0021] FIG. 1 shows a perspective representation of an external mirror with an assembly for airborne sound acoustic sensing of the surroundings of a motor vehicle,

[0022] FIG. 2 shows a schematic longitudinal section through the assembly of FIG. 1 and

[0023] FIG. 3 shows a schematic longitudinal section through a variation of the assembly of FIG. 1.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0024] The representation of FIG. 1 shows an attachment part 5 of a motor vehicle 1 with an assembly 2 for airborne sound acoustic sensing of the surroundings of the motor vehicle 1. The attachment part 5 is an external mirror with a mirror 13 that is accommodated in a housing 15. Because the assembly 2 can be integrated not only in an attachment part 5, but also in a body component 4, both reference numbers are stated in the following FIGS. 2 and 3.

[0025] The assembly 2 represented in FIG. 1 for acoustic sensing of the surroundings of a motor vehicle 1 comprises three microphones 3 in the present case, which are be disposed behind openings 6 of the attachment part 5. The microphones 3 are accommodated in a housing 8 also comprising openings 9 in the vicinity of the openings 6, so that the sound waves pass through the openings 6 and 9 to the microphones 3 (see FIGS. 2 and 3). The openings 6 and/or 9 are covered by films 7 in order to prevent the entry of dirt and moisture.

[0026] The microphones 3 integrated within the attachment part 5 are optimally protected against external effects. On the one hand this is because the housing 8 and the attachment part 5 prevent mechanical damage to the microphones 3. On the other hand a seal is achieved by means of the films 7 disposed in the openings 6, 9. The openings 6, 9 are also disposed on an underside 14 of the attachment part 5, so that dirt deposition is counteracted.

[0027] The sectional representation of FIG. 2 shows that the openings 9 in the housing 8 are bounded by a collar 10 that engages in the openings 6 in the attachment part 5 or the body component 4. A first small film 7 is placed on the collar 10. Then a second film 7 can be applied that covers a large area of the region and thus prevents lifting and detachment of the first film. The second film 7 is glued to the attachment part 5 over the entire area for this purpose.

[0028] The sectional representation of FIG. 3 shows a modification. Instead of a second film 7, a cap 11 is provided, by means of which the first film 7, which is directly applied to the collar 10, is clamped. The cap 11 is pressed onto the collar 10 for this purpose. The cap 11 thus prevents detachment of the film 7, in particular at the edge thereof. A central aperture 12 in the cap 11 ensures the passage of sound waves.
