DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0036] The interior component according to the invention that is shown in FIG. 1 is an air guiding slat of an air vent for a vehicle, such as a passenger car or truck. The air guiding slat has a basic body 10 on whose opposite end sides there are formed bearing journals 12 via which the air guiding slat is pivotably mounted on a housing of the air vent. The basic body 10 consists of a plastic, produced in the present case in a plastic injection molding process. For example, it can be a glass fiber reinforced plastic. The basic body 10 has an elongate shape and its ratio of length to thickness is at least 3:1.
[0037] Arranged on the basic body 10 in the example illustrated is a decorative element 14 produced in an extrusion process. The decorative element 14 has a U shaped cross section and, in the illustrated example, completely covers the front edge of the basic body 10 that faces the vehicle interior in the mounted state. The decorative element 14 likewise consists of a plastic, in the present case for example a different plastic than the basic body 10. For example, the decorative element 14 can consist of a nonreinforced plastic. In the example shown, the outer side of the U shaped profile of the decorative element 14 has been laminated with a film or foil, in the present case a plastic film, after the extrusion process.
[0038] On the free ends of the legs of the U profile of the decorative element 14, the latter has inwardly directed, cross sectionally triangular latching projections 16. Corresponding, cross sectionally triangular latching receptacles 18, which can be seen in particular in FIG. 3, are formed on the upper side and the lower side of the basic body 10. If the decorative element 14 is pushed onto the basic body 10 starting from the premounted state shown in FIG. 3, the latching projections 16 correspondingly latch in the latching receptacles 18.
[0039] FIG. 4 shows an air guiding slat according to the invention according to a second exemplary embodiment. It likewise has an elongate basic body 10 on whose end sides there are again formed bearing journals 12 for pivotably mounting in a housing of an air vent. The basic body 10 can consist, for example, of the same material as the basic body 10 of the air guiding slat shown in FIG. 1 or of another material.
[0040] In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, the decorative element 14 is formed as a hollow profile which encloses the basic body 10. The decorative element 14 has an oval cross section. It can again consist of the same material as the decorative element 14 of the air guiding slat shown in FIG. 1 or of another material. The decorative element 14 of the air guiding slat shown in FIG. 4 has also been produced in an extrusion process. The decorative element 14 can again be provided with a layer applied after the extrusion process, in particular a film or foil, for example a plastic film, applied by lamination. The layer or the film or foil can, for example, cover the entire circumferential surface of the decorative element 14. For mounting, the decorative element 14 adapted to the shape of the basic body 10 is pushed onto the basic body 10 in the longitudinal direction starting from the premounted state shown in FIG. 6. It can be held on the basic body 10 by a slight press fit, for example.
[0041] FIGS. 7 and 8 show an air guiding slat according to the invention according to a third exemplary embodiment.
[0042] In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the decorative element 14 is formed as an elastic shell element. The elastic shell element forms an open hollow profile. It has a latching connection 20 on opposite longitudinal edges which delimit a receptacle. For this purpose, as can be seen particularly in FIG. 8, one of the longitudinal edges has a cross sectionally C-shaped latching receptacle 22 and the opposite longitudinal edge has a corresponding latching projection 24. For mounting, the decorative element 14 can be placed on the basic body 10, as illustrated in FIG. 8 by the arrow 26. The latching connection 20 formed by the latching projection 24 and the latching receptacle 22 can then be locked, with the result that the decorative element 14 encloses the basic body 10.
[0043] The decorative element 14 can again consist of the same material as the decorative element 14 of the air guiding slat shown in FIG. 1 or of another material. The decorative element 14 of the air guiding slat shown in FIG. 7 has also been produced in an extrusion process. The decorative element 14 can again be provided with a layer, in particular a film or foil applied by lamination, for example a plastic film, applied after the extrusion process. The layer or the film or foil can cover, for example, the entire circumferential surface of the decorative element 14. The decorative element 14 from FIGS. 7 and 8 can also be held on the basic body 10 by a slight press fit, for example.
[0044] FIGS. 9 and 12 show an air guiding slat according to the invention according to a third exemplary embodiment, partially in the state in which it is installed in a housing 28 of an air vent. The air guiding slat shown in FIGS. 9 to 12 likewise has an elongate basic body 10 on whose end sides there are again formed bearing journals 12 for pivotably mounting in the housing 28 of the air vent. The housing additionally has a cover 30 whose central web is formed in the present case by the decorative element 14. The decorative element 14 can be formed separately from the cover 30 and be mounted thereon. The basic body 10 can consist of the same material as or a different material than the basic body 10 of the air guiding slat shown in FIG. 1.
[0045] In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 9 to 12, the basic body 10 of the air guiding slat has a latching projection 32 which is received in a corresponding C shaped latching receptacle of the decorative element 14. As a result, the decorative element 14 is pivotably connected to the basic body 10. A pivoting movement of the basic body 10 is thus possible without the decorative element 14 being concomitantly pivoted, as can be seen from a comparison of FIGS. 10 and 11. Here, the decorative element 14 does not change its position. The latching projection 32 can be situated coaxially to the pivot axis of the associated bearing pin 12.
[0046] It can be seen in the partial view of FIG. 12 that the decorative element 14 has cut sections 34 on its rear side in order that the decorative element 14 can be guided around the bearing point of the air-guiding slat 10 and be inserted into the cover. The cut sections 34 create a sufficient clearance and elastic deformability of the decorative element 14. The decorative element 14 is thus braced and held between the air guiding slat 10, the housing 28 and the cover 30. Additional fastenings between the decorative element 14 and the cover 30 are conceivable, for example in the form of hot caulking, adhesive bonding, clipping or the like.
