Abstract
A method of purge water recovery in which a hose has an end connected to a shower arm supply pipe located opposite another end having an adapter with a shut-off valve connected to a threaded spout of an expandable container. The expandable container receives purge water from plumbing in association with a water heater when a hot water supply valve is oriented in an open position. The gusset of the expandable container expands when purge water enters the expandable container. The shut-off valve of the hose adapter is closed when a user determines that the water temperature has reached a desirable bathing temperature. The adapter of the hose is removed from the threaded spout of the expandable container by a user. The user places a removable spigot on the threaded spout of the expandable container. The user dispenses the purge water from the expandable container during a subsequent use.
Claims
1. A method of purge water recovery, comprising the steps of: providing a water source from a water heater; providing a faucet having a hot water supply valve; providing a shower arm supply pipe, said hot water supply valve is connected to said water heater with plumbing; said water heater is connected to said shower arm supply pipe with said plumbing, said shower arm supply pipe having a threaded portion, water from said water heater is dispensed through said shower arm supply pipe when said hot water supply valve is oriented in an open position; providing an expandable container, said expandable container having a first gusset, said expandable container having an opening, a threaded spout borders said opening of said expandable container, said expandable container having a first handle located perpendicular to a second handle; providing a hose having a first end located opposite a second end, said first end of said hose is connected to a diverter valve, said second end of said hose is connected to an adapter having a shut-off valve; a user connecting said diverter valve to said threaded portion of said shower arm supply pipe; said user connecting said adapter of said second end of said hose to said threaded spout bordering said opening of said expandable container; said user orienting said hot water supply valve in an open position; said expandable container receiving purge water from said plumbing through said hose, said purge water being retained within said expandable container, said purge water expanding said first gusset of said expandable container; said user determining a desired temperature for use, said purge water having a colder temperature than said desired temperature; said user orienting said shut-off valve of said adapter of said hose in an off position when said purge water dispensed from said hose meets said desired temperature; said user removing said adapter of said hose from said threaded spout of said opening of said expandable container; and, said user dispensing said purge water from said expandable container.
2. The method of purge water recovery of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: providing a removable spigot, said removable spigot is connected to said threaded spout bordering said opening of said expandable container, said purge water is dispensed through said removable spigot.
3. The method of purge water recovery of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: providing said expandable container having dedicated finger recesses located on said first handle and on said second handle.
4. The method of purge water recovery of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: providing a removable lid, said removable lid is connected to said threaded spout bordering said opening of said expandable container.
5. The method of purge water recovery of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: providing said expandable container having said first gusset located perpendicular to a second gusset.
6. The method of purge water recovery of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: providing a support structure, said support structure having a retaining member, said retaining member receives said first handle of said expandable container, thereby, suspending said expandable container.
7. The method of purge water recovery of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: providing a shower head connected to said diverter valve.
8. The method of purge water recovery of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: providing said expandable container having an integrally formed first handle located perpendicular to an integrally formed second handle, said integrally formed first handle and said integrally formed second handle do not extend beyond the outer perimeter edge of said expandable container.
9. The method of purge water recovery of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: providing said expandable container only having a single opening.
