    Abstract

    A smoking device including a body having a bowl leading to a draw tube formed through a longitudinal axis of the body. The draw tube ends at a mouthpiece formed by an opening. A magnet is coupled to the body. A lighter is attached to the smoking device by placing a ferromagnetic portion of the lighter against the magnet.

    Claims

    1. A smoking device comprising: a body comprising a bowl leading to a draw tube formed through a longitudinal axis of the body, wherein the draw tube ends at a mouthpiece; and a magnet coupled to the body.

    2. The smoking device of claim 1, wherein the body is made of glass.

    3. The smoking device of claim 2, wherein the body comprises an upper surface, a first side surface, a second side surface, a lower surface, a first end, and a second end.

    4. The smoking device of claim 3, wherein the bowl is formed on the upper surface near the first end, and the mouthpiece is formed at the second end.

    5. The smoking device of claim 4, wherein the body further comprises an indent formed at the first end, wherein the magnet is coupled to the body within the indent by an adhesive.

    6. A method of attaching a lighter to a smoking device comprising: providing the smoking device comprising: a body comprising a bowl leading to a draw tube formed through a longitudinal axis of the body, wherein the draw tube ends at a mouthpiece; and a magnet coupled to the body; providing the lighter comprising a ferromagnetic metal portion; and placing the ferromagnetic metal portion of the lighter against the magnet of the smoking device.

    [0007] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the present invention in use;

    [0008] FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of an embodiment of the present invention;

    [0009] FIG. 3 is a detailed exploded view of an embodiment of the present invention; and

    [0010] FIG. 4 cross section view taken along line 4-4 in FIG. 1.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

    [0011] The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

    [0012] The present invention includes a glass tobacco or cannabis pipe with a magnet to hold a lighter. The present invention provides convenient access to a lighter. The magnet attaches a lighter, therefore, reducing the loss of lighters. The lighter attached to the pipe also creates a stabilizer, preventing the pipe from rolling over. The present invention further makes sharing the pipe with others easier since users are not concerned about the location of the lighter.

    [0013] Referring to FIGS. 1 through 4, the present invention includes a smoking device 10. The smoking device 10 includes a body 14. The body 14 has a bowl 24 leading to a draw tube 26 formed through a longitudinal axis 28 of the body 14. The draw tube 26 ends at a mouthpiece 28 formed by an opening. A magnet 18 is coupled to the body 14. A user may attach a lighter 12 to the smoking device 10 by placing a ferromagnetic portion of the lighter 12 against the magnet 18.

    [0014] The smoking device 10 of the present invention may include a smoking bowl, a bubbler, a bong, and the like. In certain embodiments, the body 14 of the smoking device 10 is made of blown glass. The body 14 includes an upper surface, a first side surface, a second side surface, a lower surface, a first end, and a second end. When the smoking device 10 is a smoking bowl, the bowl 24 is formed on the upper surface near the first end, the mouthpiece 28 is formed at the second end, and a carburetor 22 leading to the draw tube 26 is formed at the first side surface near the first end.

    [0015] In certain embodiments, the magnet 18 may be adhered to an outer surface of the body 14. For example, the body 14 includes an indent formed at the first end. The indent may be created while blowing the glass. While the glass is hot, a steel rod may be pressed against an outer surface of the body 14 at the end, forming the indent. The magnet 18 is coupled to the body 14 within the indent by an adhesive 20, such as epoxy or other type of glue.

    [0016] A method of attaching a lighter to a smoking device may include the following steps. Provide the smoking device 10 described above. Provide the lighter 12 having a ferromagnetic metal portion. Place the ferromagnetic metal portion of the lighter 12 against the magnet of the smoking device 10, thereby attaching the lighter 12 to the smoking device 10.

    [0017] It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
