A lift for a travel trailer top is disclosed which includes new and novel corner posts or jacks each of which comprises a plurality of telescoping members designed for strength and rigidity with the upper two or three sections of the posts or jacks containing integral, marginal portions for containing push-pull rods or springs and the bottom or lower section designed basically rectangular with a fastening leg and to contain the push-pull rods or springs and receive and stabilize the upper two or three sections when the top is up or down and may further be turned over, top to bottom, to be used as the bottom or lower section of the posts or jacks on the opposite side of the trailer eliminating the need to create lefts or rights of the bottom or lower sections.
Claims
1. A lift for raising and lowering a top of a mobile trailer comprising a plurality of telescopic jacks respectively adjacent corners of a trailer body and supporting a trailer top, an actuator mechanism mounted on a trailer body, and a plurality of flexible push-pull elements connected with and extending from said actuator mechanism to said jacks for actuating the jacks to raise a top, each of said jacks being comprised of a plurality of telescoping members, a upper and intermediate members having said members including spaced apart opposite upstanding portions connected together and a bottom or lower member comprised of a wall and one upstanding portion connected to said wall comprised of a flange extending outwardly from said wall, a reverse section connected to said flange being generally parallel to said wall, and a return section connected to said reverse section and being parallel to said flange, in to which the a fore said upper and intermediate rot members will descend when a top is lowered.
2. A lift as defined in claim 1, wherein all the jacks are comprised of a upper member, 1 or more intermediate members, said upper and intermediate members having spaced apart opposite upstanding portions connected together, and a bottom or lower member comprised of a wall and one up standing portion connected to said wall comprised of a flange extending outwardly from said wall, a reverse section connected to said flange being generally parallel to said wall and a return section connected to said reverse section and being parallel to said flange through which a fore said upper and intermediate members will descend when a top is lowered.
