[0054] FIG. 1 exemplarily illustrates a front view of a bulletproof backpack 1. FIG. 2 exemplarily illustrates a front view of the bulletproof backpack 1 and the plurality of layers comprising the bulletproof panel 7. The bulletproof backpack 1 comprises a handle 2 fixedly attached to a top portion of a side panel 8 or the side straps. The handle 2 facilitates improved ease of carrying the bulletproof backpack 1. The bulletproof backpack 1 includes a plurality of storage compartments that are suitably disclosed in the detailed descriptions of FIGS. 1-5. A front pocket 3 and a front zipper 4 for permitting or preventing access to the front pocket 3 are configured on a front panel 7 of the bulletproof backpack 1. In an embodiment, the front panel 7 of the bulletproof backpack 1 includes multiple layers 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e of bulletproof material, for example, Kevlar, etc. In alternate embodiments, the bulletproof material may include, but are not limited to, an Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) material, a polycarbonate resin thermoplastic material (Lexan or the like), a carbon fiber composite material, etc. At least two side straps 5 are fixedly attached to a back panel of the bulletproof backpack 1 to securely position the bulletproof backpack 1 over a shoulder of the user. In certain embodiment, visibility paint 6 is provided on the front panel 7.

[0055] FIG. 3 exemplarily illustrates a side view of the bulletproof backpack 1. Straps 9 may be detachably attached to the side straps 5 via adjuster buckles 10 to securely fasten the bulletproof backpack 1 to a shoulder of a user. As described earlier, the bulletproof front panel 7 is fixedly attached to the side panel 8 of the bulletproof backpack 1. Further, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the handle 2 is fixedly attached to both straps 9a, 9b of the bulletproof backpack 1.

[0056] FIG. 4 exemplarily illustrates a rear view of the bulletproof backpack 1 in a closed position. FIG. 5 exemplarily illustrates a rear view of the bulletproof backpack 1 in an open position. The following detailed description must be read in conjunction with FIGS. 1-5. The bulletproof backpack 1 includes a front panel 7 having at least one first storage compartment 3 with the front panel 7 made of a plurality of layers 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e of bulletproof material. Although only 5 layers of bulletproof material are shown in the present disclosure, it will be appreciated that a larger or a smaller number of bulletproof layers may be envisioned based on the design requirement of the bulletproof backpack 1. The side panel 8 is fixedly attached to a periphery of the front panel 7 and extends substantially perpendicular towards the back panel 25. The back panel 25 is detachably attached to the side panel 8 via fastening elements. In certain embodiments, the fastening elements may include but are not limited to zippers, hook and loop fasteners, snap fasteners, etc. The zippers 4 are inaccessible from a position proximal to the front panel 7. The bulletproof backpack 1 further includes at least two straps 9a, 9b fixedly attached to the back panel 25 such that the at least two straps 9a, 9b in conjunction with the side straps 5 are configured to securely position the bulletproof backpack 1 over a shoulder of the user. An inner surface of the front panel 7, an inner surface of the side panel 8, and an inner surface of the back panel 25 together define a storage space, such that the storage space is accessible only when the back panel 25 is detached from the side panel 8. The hidden or inaccessible position of the zippers 4 make it impossible to open the bulletproof backpack 1 while using it. The stored belongings are also protected from any attack by a gun because of the bulletproof front panel 7.

[0057] Referring to FIGS. 1-5, a water-resistant, anti-theft bulletproof backpack 1 includes secure, hidden zippers 4 and at least one bullet-resistant panel 7. An interior section 26 is formed by a front panel 27, a pair of side panels 8, a group of elastic straps 19a, 19b, a bottom compartment panel 24 and a back panel 25. The hidden zippers 4 on the zipper track 17 allow the back panel 25 to open and provide access to the interior compartments 24, 25. The bulletproof backpack 1 also comprises hidden pockets, such as two inside lateral pockets 12, two pockets on the straps 9, 9a, and a backside pocket 16. Each of the pockets is closed using the zippers 4. The left inside lateral pocket 12 has a keychain 11. FIG. 1 shows a big front pocket 3 having a zipper 4 and high visibility paint 6. Kevlar layers are disposed at the front of the bulletproof backpack 1, making the front bulletproof. In another embodiment, the bullet-resistant front panel 7 comprises a plurality of layers 7a-7e of lightweight composite material such as Kevlar laminations. The bullet-resistant panel 7 as shown is permanently incorporated into the front of the bulletproof backpack 1.

[0058] Referring to FIGS. 2-4, the bulletproof backpack 1 comprises options for the user's convenience. Straps 9a, 9b allow the user to wear the bulletproof backpack 1. Similarly, the handle 2 allows the user to carry the bulletproof backpack 1. The bulletproof backpack 1 cannot be opened when the user carries it because the zippers 4 are hidden. Straps 5 are disposed at the bottom of the wearable straps 9a, 9b for adjusting the length and fitting of the bulletproof backpack 1 on the user. The adjusting buckle 10 also helps with adjusting and securing the bulletproof backpack 1. Foam 14, 15 is made of breathable material and serves as cushion to a back of a user. In another embodiment, referring to FIG. 5, the interior of the bulletproof backpack 1 comprises a USB charging pocket with a cable, which allows the user to charge a device, for example, a smartphone, a laptop, or other electronic device via a USB port 13 without needing to open the bulletproof backpack 1. The bulletproof backpack 1 has an interior front panel 26 that comprises an upper elastic strap 19a and a lower elastic strap 19b that cross each other in an X shape, with a buckle 18 in the center of the X. Two inner flaps with edges 28, one on the left 20 and one on the right 21, are disposed on the bottom of the back panel 25. The back panel 25 also has a lower compartment 22 with aback panel 24 for storage purposes. The lower compartment 22 has a securing belt 23a for holding items stored in the compartment 22. The back panel also has a securing belt 23b. Both the lower compartment 22 and the back panel 25 can hold a laptop or an iPad. Multiple elastic straps 29 hold items in place.

[0059] The foregoing examples have been provided merely for the purpose of explanation and are in no way to be construed as limiting of the bulletproof backpack 1, disclosed herein. While the bulletproof backpack 1 has been described with reference to various embodiments, it is understood that the words, which have been used herein, are words of description and illustration, rather than words of limitation. Further, although the bulletproof backpack 1 has been described herein with reference to particular means, materials, and embodiments, the bulletproof backpack 1 is not intended to be limited to the particulars disclosed herein; rather, the bulletproof backpack 1 extends to all functionally equivalent structures, methods and uses, such as are within the scope of the appended claims. Those skilled in the art, having the benefit of the teachings of this specification, may effect numerous modifications thereto and changes may be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the bulletproof backpack 1 disclosed herein in their aspects.
