    [0019] Overview:

[0020] A padded thigh guard with grip for motorcycle riders is disclosed which improves the leg gripping strength of motorcycle riders thereby reducing the reducing the need for the rider to have to hold on so tightly with the arms that the rider develops arm pump, a clinical condition where a user develops marked, intermittent pain in the forearms after exercise or exertion. An inner side of a padded thigh guard with grip for motorcycle riders has a plurality of rough strips fixedly attached which helps the thigh guard grip the user's pants. An outer side of a padded thigh guard has a piece of gripping pad 4 fixedly attached which improves the user's grip on the motorcycle.

[0021] In FIG. 1 an outer side of a padded thigh guard with grip for motorcycle riders is shown as worn on a leg from an inside of the leg view. The thigh guard 1 is wrapped snuggly around a leg 2. A generally square piece of gripping pad 4 is fixedly attached to a main body 8 of the thigh guard 1. The gripping pad 4 may also be round, in strips, or any other shape. The gripping pad 4 may be shoe sole material or Vibram? shoe sole material, or any other material of sufficient grip and durability. Fixedly attached may mean by sewing or adhesive or any other appropriate means that would adhere the materials together.

[0022] FIG. 2 shows a top outer side view of a padded thigh guard with grip for motorcycle riders. The main body 8 of the thigh guard is shown as substantially rectangular and may be composed of canvas, leather, or other suitable durable material. The main body 8 has a first side to which a first strap 5 and second strap 10 are fixedly attached through sewing or adhesive, and a second side to which first strap 5 and second strap 10 are removably attached by hook and loop tape or any other suitable method. The main body 8 is filled with padding 11 which may be one layer or a plurality of layers of durable material. The padding 11 may also be cotton or fiberfill or other suitable materials. A strip 9 of stretchy or elastic material is fixedly attached to both the outer and inner sides of the main body 8 to provide better hugging of the thigh guard 1 to a user. This strip 9 of stretchy or elastic material may be eBoot elastic or any other suitable material. A substantially square piece of gripping pad 4 is fixedly attached to an outer side of the main body 8 through sewing or adhesive or any other appropriate means. The gripping pad 4 may be shoe sole material, particularly Vibram? shoe sole material or any other material of appropriate gripping capability. A hook and loop closure 7 is fixedly attached on an outer side of a second side of the main body 8 of the thigh guard 1. First strap 5 and second strap 10 are fixedly attached by sewing or adhesive or any other means to a first side of the main body 8 opposite the hook and loop closure 7. A first end of first strap 5 has the corresponding hook and loop closure 7 fixedly attached on the end of the first strap 5. A first end of second strap 10 has the corresponding hook and loop closure 7 fixedly attached on the end of second strap 10. The hook and loop closure is fixedly attached on the end of first strap 5 and second strap 10 so that first strap 5 and second strap 10 can wrap around and fasten the thigh guard 1 to a leg 2 of a user when the padded thigh guard with grip for motorcycle riders is in use. Any other suitable means for removably attaching the second end of the first strap 5 and the second end of the second strap 10 may include a buckle, or a quick release buckle being connected to the second end of the first strap 5 and the second side of the main body 8. Any other suitable means for removably attaching the second end of the second strap 10 and the second side of the main body 8 may include a buckle, or a quick release buckle being connected to the second end of the second strap 10 and the second side of the main body 8.

[0023] FIG. 3 shows a top inner side view of a padded thigh guard with grip for motorcycle riders. The main body 8 of the thigh guard is shown as substantially rectangular and may be composed of canvas, leather, or other suitable durable material. The main body 8 may be one layer or the main body may have padding of a plurality of layers of the durable material. The main body 8 may be padded with padding 11 such as cotton or fiberfill or other suitable materials. A strip 9 of stretchy or elastic material is fixedly attached to both the inner side and the outer side of the main body 8 to provide better hugging of the thigh guard 1 to a user. This strip 9 of stretchy or elastic material may be eBoot elastic or any other suitable stretchy material. Stitching 13 is shown to adhere the gripping pad 4 to the main body 8, however the gripping pad 4 may be attached by any means such as adhesive to the main body 8. First strap 5 and second strap are positioned on an end of the main body 8. First strap 5 and second strap 10 connect with the main body 8 through hook and loop closure or any other suitable closure. A first rough strip 6 and a second rough strip 12 are strategically positioned on an inner side of the thigh guard 1 to increase the grip on the leg 2 of the user. This first rough strip 6 and second rough strip 12 may be the hook side of hook and loop closure. In the event that the first rough strip 6 and the second rough strip 12 are the hook side of a hook and loop closure, the hooks of the hook side are positioned so that hooks are in contact with the leg 2 of the user.

[0024] FIG. 4 is a top view of an outer side of a padded thigh guard with grip for motorcycle riders as used on a leg. A gripping pad 4 is located on an inside of the thigh guard 1 in reference to the leg 2. The main body 8 wraps around the leg 2 and is secured by a plurality of straps, or in the case of FIG. 4, first strap 5 and second strap 10. First strap 5 and second strap 10 adhere by hook and loop closure or any other suitable means to a hook and loop closure 7. The thigh guard may be positioned on the leg 2 so that the thigh guard is optimally suited to allow the rider to grip a motorcycle.

[0025] FIG. 5 is an outside view of a padded thigh guard with grip for motorcycle riders as used on a leg. The main body 8 of a thigh guard 1 wraps around the leg 2 and is secured by first strap 5 and second strap 10. First strap 5 and second strap 10 removably adhere by hook and loop closure or any other suitable means to a hook and loop closure 7. A strip 9 of stretchy or elastic material is fixedly attached to both the outer and the inner side of the main body 8 to provide better hugging of the thigh guard 1 to a user. A foot 14 is shown for perspective.

[0026] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
