Article of Clothing Convertible to a Seat Cushion

Abstract

An article of clothing convertible to a seat cushion allows a user to enjoy a comfortable seating experience by folding an upper-body garment into a pocket panel in order to form a seat cushion. The upper-body garment is preferably a jacket, sweater, or other similar article of clothing. The pocket panel is a piece of material sewn onto the upper-body garment in order to form a pocket. The article of clothing convertible to a seat cushion can be used in a seat-cushion configuration and a wearable configuration. The seat-cushion configuration is arranged by folding the upper-body garment into the pocket panel. The wearable configuration allows the user to wear the upper-body garment as a jacket, sweater, or other similar article of clothing.

Claims

1. An article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion comprises: an upper-body garment; a pocket panel; the upper-body garment comprises a front section and a rear section; the front section and the rear section each comprise a top portion and a bottom portion; the pocket panel comprises a top edge, a bottom edge, a left edge, and a right edge; the pocket panel being positioned external to the upper-body garment; the top edge, the left edge, and the right edge being connected onto the top portion of the rear section; and a pocket opening being formed between the bottom edge and the top portion of the rear section.

2. The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 1 comprises: wherein the upper-body garment is in a seat-cushion configuration; the bottom portion of the front section being positioned in between the bottom portion of the rear section and the top portion of the front section; and the bottom portion of the rear section, the bottom portion of the front section, and the top portion of the front section being positioned in between the top portion of the rear section and the pocket panel.

3. The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 2 comprises: a hood; the hood being foldably connected to the top portion of the rear section, adjacent to the top edge; and the hood being positioned in between the top portion of the front section and the bottom portion of the front section.

The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 2 comprises: a pair of long sleeves; each of the pair of long sleeves being foldably connected to the upper-body garment; and each of the pair of long sleeves being positioned in between the top portion of the front section and the bottom portion of the front section.

The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 1 comprises: wherein the upper-body garment is in a wearable configuration; the front section being positioned adjacent to the rear section; the pocket panel being positioned adjacent to the rear section, opposite the front section; and the pocket opening being oriented towards the bottom portion of the rear section.

6. The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 5 comprises: a hood; and the hood being foldably connected to the top portion of the rear section, adjacent to the top edge.

7. The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 5 comprises: a pair of long sleeves; each of the pair of long sleeves being foldably connected to the upper-body garment; and the pair of long sleeves being positioned opposite to each other about the upper-body garment.

The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 1 comprises: a plurality of garment pockets; the plurality of garment pockets being connected onto the bottom portion of the front section; and the plurality of garment pockets being distributed across the bottom portion of the front section.

9. The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 1 comprises: at least one first design patch; and the at least one first design patch being connected onto the top portion of the front section.

10. The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 1 comprises: at least one second design patch; and the at least one second design patch being connected onto the pocket panel.

11. An article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion comprises: an upper-body garment; a pocket panel; a plurality of garment pockets; at least one first design patch; at least one second design patch; the upper-body garment comprises a front section and a rear section; the front section and the rear section each comprise a top portion and a bottom portion; the pocket panel comprises a top edge, a bottom edge, a left edge, and a right edge; the pocket panel being positioned external to the upper-body garment; the top edge, the left edge, and the right edge being connected onto the top portion of the rear section; a pocket opening being formed between the bottom edge and the top portion of the rear section; the plurality of garment pockets being connected onto the bottom portion of the front section; and the plurality of garment pockets being distributed across the bottom portion of the front section. the at least one first design patch being connected onto the top portion of the front section; and the at least one second design patch being connected onto the pocket panel.

The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 11 comprises: wherein the upper-body garment is in a seat-cushion configuration; the bottom portion of the front section being positioned in between the bottom portion of the rear section and the top portion of the front section; and the bottom portion of the rear section, the bottom portion of the front section, and the top portion of the front section being positioned in between the top portion of the rear section and the pocket panel.

13. The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 12 comprises: a hood; the hood being foldably connected to the top portion of the rear section, adjacent to the top edge; and the hood being positioned in between the top portion of the front section and the bottom portion of the front section.

The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 12 comprises: a pair of long sleeves; each of the pair of long sleeves being foldably connected to the upper-body garment; and each of the pair of long sleeves being positioned in between the top portion of the front section and the bottom portion of the front section.

The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 11 comprises: wherein the upper-body garment is in a wearable configuration; the front section being positioned adjacent to the rear section; the pocket panel being positioned adjacent to the rear section, opposite the front section; and the pocket opening being oriented towards the bottom portion of the rear section.

16. The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 15 comprises: a hood; and the hood being foldably connected to the top portion of the rear section, adjacent to the top edge.

The article of clothing convertible to a seat-cushion as claimed in claim 15 comprises: a pair of long sleeves; each of the pair of long sleeves being foldably connected to the upper-body garment; and the pair of long sleeves being positioned opposite to each other about the upper-body garment.

[0011] In reference to FIGS. 1 through 5, the present invention is an article of clothing convertible to a seat cushion. In further detail, the present invention is an article of clothing that can be folded into a seat cushion. The present invention includes an upper-body garment 1 and a pocket panel 8. The upper-body garment 1 is preferably a jacket, a sweater, or a similar article of clothing. The upper-body garment 1 may be composed of any fabric material and can be sized to fit any user. The pocket panel 8 is a piece of material that is sewn onto the upper-body garment 1 in order to form a pocket. Moreover, the pocket panel 8 allows a user to fold the upper-body garment 1 into a seat cushion. The pocket panel 8 is preferably composed of the same material as the upper-body garment 1 and is sized according to the size of the upper-body garment 1.

[0012] The general configuration of the aforementioned components allows a user to convert the upper-body garment 1 into a seat cushion. With reference to FIGS. 1 and 3, the upper-body garment 1 comprises a front section 2 and a rear section 5. The front section 2 and the rear section 5 each comprise a top portion 3, 6 and a bottom portion 4, 7. The pocket panel 8 comprises a top edge 9, a bottom edge 10, a left edge 11, and a right edge 12. The pocket panel 8 is positioned external to the upper-body garment 1. This arrangement allows a user to access the pocket panel 8 in order to fold the upper-body garment 1 into the pocket panel 8 to convert the present invention into a seat cushion. The top edge 9, the left edge 11, and the right edge 12 are connected onto the top portion 6 of the rear section 5. This arrangement forms a pocket between the pocket panel 8 and the upper-body garment 1. Moreover, the top edge 9, the left edge 11, and the right edge 12 are preferably sewn onto the top portion 6 of the rear section 5. A pocket opening 13 is formed between the bottom edge 10 and the top portion 6 of the rear section 5 because the bottom edge 10 is not connected to the top portion 6 of the rear section 5. This arrangement allows a user to fold the upper-body garment 1 into the pocket panel 8 through the pocket opening 13.

The seat-cushion configuration is a configuration of the upper-body garment 1 folded into the pocket panel 8. The seat-cushion configuration allows the present invention to be used as a seat cushion in order to provide an enjoyable seating experience. In the seat-cushion configuration, the bottom portion 4 of the front section 2 is positioned in between the bottom portion 7 of the rear section 5 and the top portion 3 of the front section 2. Moreover, the bottom portion 7 of the rear section 5, the bottom portion 4 of the front section 2, and the top portion 3 of the front section 2 are positioned in between the top portion 6 of the rear section 5 and the pocket panel 8. This arrangement allows the upper-body garment 1 to be maintained in the seat-cushion configuration.

The hood 14 is a standard head-covering garment common to various types of jackets, sweaters, or other similar articles of clothing. The hood 14 is foldably connected to the top portion 6 of the rear section 5, adjacent to the top edge 9. This arrangement properly secures the hood 14 to the upper-body garment 1. Preferably, the hood 14 is sewn to the upper-body garment 1. Moreover, the hood 14 is positioned in between the top portion 3 of the front section 2 and the bottom portion 4 of the front section 2 in the seat-cushion configuration. This arrangement allows the hood 14 to provide more cushion to the present invention when in the seat-cushion configuration.

The pair of long sleeves 15 is standard set of arm-covering garments common to various types of jackets, sweaters, or other similar articles of clothing. Each of the pair of sleeves is foldably connected to the upper-body garment 1. This arrangement properly secures the pair of long sleeves 15 to the upper-body garment 1. Preferably, each of the pair of long sleeves 15 is sewn to the upper-body garment 1. Moreover, each of the pair of long sleeves 15 is positioned in between the top portion 3 of the front section 2 and the bottom portion 4 of the front section 2. [0016] The user can fold the upper-body garment 1 into the seat-cushion configuration using the following steps. First, the user folds the hood 14 onto the top portion 3 of the front section 2. Second, the user folds each of the pair of long sleeves 15 onto the top portion 3 of the front section 2. Third, the user folds the bottom portion 7 of the rear section 5 and the bottom portion 4 of the front section 2 onto the top portion 3 of the front section 2. Lastly, the user pulls the upper-body garment 1 into the pocket panel 8 through the pocket opening 13.

[0017] With reference to FIGS. 1, 3, and 4, the upper-body garment 1 can be arranged into a wearable configuration. The main objective of the present invention is to provide an article of clothing that can convert into a seat cushion. When the present invention is not being used as a seat cushion, the upper-body garment 1 can be worn as a standard jacket, sweater, or other similar article of clothing. When in the wearable configuration, the front section 2 is positioned adjacent to the rear section 5. This arrangement allows the upper-body garment 1 to properly cover the front and back area of a user. The pocket panel 8 is positioned adjacent to the rear section 5, opposite the front section 2. This arrangement positions the pocket panel 8 at the back area of the upper-body garment 1 for aesthetic purposes and for the pocket panel 8 to be easily accessed when needed to convert the present invention to a seat cushion. The pocket opening 13 is oriented towards the bottom portion of rear section 5. The orientation of the pocket opening 13 allows a user to easily fold the upper-body garment 1 into the pocket panel 8. In the wearable configuration, the hood 14 can either be folded over the head of the user or folded onto the top portion 6 of the rear section 5. Moreover, the pair of long sleeves 15 is positioned opposite to each other about the upper-body garment 1 in order to cover each arm of the user.

The plurality of garment pockets 16 allows a user to conveniently store small items. The plurality of garment pockets 16 is connected onto the bottom portion 4 of the front section 2. This arrangement allows a user to easily access the plurality of garment pockets 16 when wearing the present invention. Moreover, each of the plurality of garment pockets 16 is preferably sewn onto the upper-body garment 1. The plurality of garment pockets 16 is distributed across the bottom portion 4 of the front section 2. This arrangement allows each garment pocket to be easily accessed by either hand of the user. In further detail and preferably, there are two garment pockets at the left side of the upper-body garment 1 that can be easily accessed by the left hand of the user and two garment pockets at the right side of the upper-body garment 1 pocket that can be easily accessed by the right hand of the user.

The at least one first design patch 17 may be a patch that displays initials of the user, the logo of a sports team, the logo of a sports clothing company or any other design which is preferably sports related. The at least one first design patch 17 is used for aesthetic purposes. The at least one first design patch 17 is connected onto the top portion 3 of the front section 2. This arrangement positions the at least one first design patch 17 in order for the at least one design patch to easily be in view for the user and for bystanders looking in the direction of the user. The at least one first design patch 17 is preferably heat-pressed onto the upper-body garment 1.
