<i>Agastache </i>plant named ‘Doagabetamber’

Abstract

A new and distinct cultivar of Agastache plant named ‘Doagabetamber’, characterized by its relatively compact and upright to outwardly spreading plant habit; moderately vigorous growth habit and moderate growth rate; medium green-colored leaves; relatively compact inflorescences with numerous bright orange-colored flowers; and good garden performance.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS

(1) The accompanying colored photographs illustrate the overall appearance of the new Agastache plant showing the colors as true as it is reasonably possible to obtain in colored reproductions of this type. Colors in the photographs may differ slightly from the color values cited in the detailed botanical description which accurately describe the actual colors of the new Agastache plant.

(2) The photograph on the first sheet (FIG. 1) is a side perspective view of a typical flowering plant of ‘Doagabetamber’ grown in a container.

(3) The photograph on the second sheet (FIG. 2) is a close-up view of a typical flowering plant of ‘Doagabetamber’.

(4) The aforementioned photographs and following observations and measurements describe plants grown during the summer in 17-cm containers in a glass-covered greenhouse in Aalsmeer, The Netherlands and under conditions and cultural practices which approximate those typically used in commercial Agastache plant production. During the production of the plants, day temperatures averaged 21° C. and night temperatures averaged 15° C. Rooted young plants were pinched one week after planting and plants were 16 weeks old when the photographs were taken and 22 weeks old when the description was taken. In the following description, color references are made to The Royal Horticultural Society Colour Chart, Fifth Edition, except where general terms of ordinary dictionary significance are used. Botanical classification: Agastache aurantiaca ‘Doagabetamber’. Parentage: Female, or seed, parent.—Agastache aurantiaca ‘Kudos Gold’, disclosed in U.S. Patent Application Publication number 2015/0334904. Male, or pollen, parent.—Proprietary selection of Agastache aurantiaca identified as code number MP-0016, not patented. Propagation: Type.—By vegetative cuttings. Time to initiate roots, summer.—About 16 days at temperatures about 26° C. Time to initiate roots, winter.—About 21 days at temperatures about 23° C. Time to produce a rooted young plant, summer.—About 24 days at temperatures about 23° C. Time to produce a rooted young plant, winter.—About 28 days at temperatures about 18° C. Root description.—Thick and fibrous; typically white in color, actual color of the roots is dependent on substrate composition, water quality, fertilizer type and formulation, substrate temperature and physiological age of roots. Garden performance: Plants of the new Agastache have exhibited good garden performance, to tolerate temperatures ranging from −20° C. to about 35° C. and to be suitable for USDA Hardiness Zone 6.
