    Abstract

A blacksmith forge assembly having at least one insulating fire brick having a centrally located bore. Fitted about the brick is a cover made of at least two sections. A burner is attached to a first end of the assembly and extends through the cover and brick and into the bore.

    Claims

    1. A blacksmith forge assembly, comprising: at least one insulating fire brick having a bore that extends from a first end to a rearward wall at a second end; a cover having at least two sections that is fitted about the insulating fire brick; and a burner that is connected to and extends through the cover and the insulating fire brick to the bore.

    2. The assembly of claim 1 wherein the cover has a first section fitted around a top and sides of the insulating fire brick and a second section that covers a bottom of the insulating fire brick and overlaps the first section.

    3. The assembly of claim 1 wherein two insulating fire bricks are cut in half to form four sections.

    4. The assembly of claim 1 wherein at least one leg extends from the second section to a base.

[0011] FIG. 4 is an end view of a blacksmith forge assembly.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0012] Referring to the Figures, a blacksmith forge assembly 10 has at least one insulating fire brick 12. Preferably, the forge 10 has two fire bricks 12 that are cut in half forming four sections 14. Three of the sections 14 have a bore 16 that extends through the section from one end to the opposite end. A fourth section 14 has a partial bore 18 that extends from one end to a rearward wall 20.

[0013] The four sections 14 are positioned so that the bores 16 and 18 are aligned and in communication with the section 14 having bores 18 forming a rearward end 22. The section 14 at the opposite or forward end 24 has a burner 26 that extends from an outer surface 28 of the section 14 through an opening 30 and into the bore 16. Preferably the burner 26 is positioned at an angle in relation to the forward end 24 and in an exemplary embodiment is positioned at a twenty degree angle. By positioning the burner 26 at an angle, heat is more evenly distributed within bores 16 and 18 as opposed to creating hot spots when the burner 26 is parallel to end 24.

[0014] Fitted about the fire brick sections 14 is a cover 32. The cover 32 is of any size and shape and in a preferred embodiment has a first section 34 that is folded around the top and sides of sections 14 and a second section 36 that covers the bottom of sections 14. The second section 36 extends beyond the bottom of sections 14 and has outer edges 38 that are bent upwardly to form flanges that overlap a portion of the first section 34. The flanges 38 are connected to the first section either with a bolt, a weld or the like. The cover 32 helps to hold the sections 14 together which improves upon the art as the bricks have a tendency to crack and crumble. Also, preferably the cover 32 is made of stainless steel to reduce rust and wear and to reduce the size and weight of the assembly for shipping.

[0015] Connected to and extending downwardly from the bottom section 36 is one or more legs 40. The legs 40 are of any size and shape and preferably have an I-shape. The legs 40 extend from the second section 36 to a base 42.

[0016] Accordingly, a blacksmith forge assembly has been disclosed that at the very least meets all the stated objectives.
