Abstract
The invention relates to a knife holder (1) for cutting machines, with a knife carrier (2) rotatably mounted around an axis of rotation for holding a knife and a setting device (3) for the knife carrier (2), wherein the knife carrier (2) can be driven by the setting device (3) parallel to the axis of rotation (4) between a standby position and a cutting position, and wherein the knife holder (1) comprises a fixing device (5) that can be activated independently of the setting device (3), with which the knife carrier (2) can be fixed in the cutting position in the direction of the axis of rotation (3).
Claims
1. A knife holder (1) for cutting machines, with a knife carrier (2) rotatably mounted around an axis of rotation (4) for holding a knife, and a setting device (3) for the knife carrier (2), wherein the knife carrier (2) can be driven by the setting device (3) parallel to the axis of rotation (4) between a standby position and a cutting position, characterized in that the knife holder (1) comprises a fixing device (5) that can be actuated independently of the setting device (3), with which the knife carrier (2) can be fixed in the cutting position in the direction of the axis of rotation (4).
2. The knife holder (1) according to claim 1, wherein the fixing device (5) non-positively and/or positively fixes the knife carrier (2) in the cutting position.
3. The knife holder (1) according to claim 1, wherein the fixing device (5) can be mechanically, electrically, pneumatically, or hydraulically actuated.
4. The knife holder (1) according to claim 1, wherein the setting device (3) comprises an electrically, pneumatically, or hydraulically actable actuator (6).
5. The knife holder (1) according to claim 1, wherein the setting device (3) comprises a setting piston (7) to which the knife carrier (2) is rotatably mounted.
6. The knife holder (1) according to claim 5, wherein the fixing device (5) acts mechanically on the setting piston (7).
7. The knife holder (1) according to claim 6, wherein the setting piston (7) comprises a bearing section (7.1) that can be axially displaced into a sleeve-shaped bearing (8) and a fixing section (7.2) that is offset in a radial direction relative to the bearing section (7.1), wherein the fixing device (5) acts on the fixing section (7.2).
8. The knife holder (1) according to claim 1, wherein the knife holder (1) comprises a controller, by means of which the knife carrier (2) can be moved from the standby position into the cutting position in a force-controlled manner.
9. The knife holder (1) according to claim 1, wherein the knife holder (1) comprises a lowering device (9) for a knife head (10) having the knife carrier (2).
10. The knife holder (1) according to claim 9, wherein the setting device (3) can be lowered with the knife carrier (24).
11. The knife holder (1) according to claim 9, wherein the knife holder (1) comprises several knife heads (10) each having a knife carrier (2), which can together be lowered with precisely one lowering device (9).
12. The knife holder (1) according to claim 1, wherein the knife carrier (2) is mounted in a housing (11) of the knife holder (1) so that it cannot be adjusted orthogonally to the axis of rotation (4).
Description
[0021] The invention along with the technical environment will be exemplarily described below based on the figures. Schematically shown on:
[0022]
[0023]
[0024]
[0025] The knife holder 1 depicted on the figures comprises a housing 11, which can be used to fasten the knife holder 1 to a traverse of a longitudinal cutting machine.
[0026] The knife holder 1 additionally comprises a knife head 10, which can be lowered by means of a lowering device 9 arranged in the housing 11 on
[0027] As evident in particular from
[0028] The setting device 3 additionally comprises an actuator 6, which is designed as an electric motor in the exemplary embodiment of the figures. The bearing piston 7, and hence the knife carrier 2, can be moved parallel to the axis of rotation 4 between a standby position and a cutting position by means of the actuator 6.
[0029] Apart from a central bearing section 7.1 arranged in the bearing 8, the bearing piston 7 comprises a fixing section 7.2, which is arranged radially offset to the bearing section 7.1, allowing the fixing section 7.2 to extend next to the actuator 6.
[0030] The knife holder 1 additionally comprises a fixing device 5, into which the fixing section 7.2 of the setting piston 7 engages. The fixing device 5 comprises a fixing element, which can be moved between a fixed state and a released state. In the fixed state, the fixing section 7.2 of the setting piston 7 is non-positively clamped by the fixing element, so that the entire setting piston 7 is fixed in its position.
[0031] As a consequence, the knife carrier 2, and hence a circular knife fastened to the knife carrier 2, can be adjusted to a counter-knife in a force-controlled manner in the direction of the axis of rotation by means of the actuator 6, wherein the knife carrier 2 can be fixed in its position by means of the fixing device 5 after the cutting position predetermined in particular by a cutting force has been reached. During the cutting process, the knife carrier 2 can thus not move parallel to the axis of rotation 4, as a result of which forces acting on the actuator 6 are also reduced during the cutting process.
