    Abstract

A thermally insulated garment assembly for retaining body heat includes a shirt that may be worn. The shirt is comprised of a thermally insulating material to minimize heat transfer between a user and ambient air. The shirt has short sleeves such that the shirt only thermally insulates the user's torso.

    Claims

    1. A thermally insulated garment assembly being configured to enhance body heat retention, said assembly comprising: a shirt being configured to be worn, said shirt being comprised of a thermally insulating material wherein said shirt is configured to minimize heat transfer between a user and ambient air, said shirt having short sleeves wherein said shirt is configured to only thermally insulate the user's torso.

    2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said shirt has a body, a neckband and a pair of sleeve cuffs, said neckband defining a neck opening in said shirt wherein said neck opening is configured to have the user's neck extended therethrough.

    3. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said neckband is comprised of an elastic material wherein said neckband is configured to tighten around the user's neck thereby inhibiting body heat from passing between said neckband and the user's neck.

    4. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein each of said sleeve cuffs defines an arm opening in an associated one of said sleeves wherein said arm opening in each of said sleeves is configured to have one of the user's arms extended therethrough.

    5. The assembly according to claim 4, wherein each of said sleeve cuffs is comprised of an elastic material wherein each of said sleeve cuffs is configured to tighten around the user's arm thereby inhibiting body heat from passing between said sleeve cuffs and the user's arms.

    6. A thermally insulated garment assembly being configured to enhance body heat retention, said assembly comprising: a shirt being configured to be worn, said shirt being comprised of a thermally insulating material wherein said shirt is configured to minimize heat transfer between a user and ambient air, said shirt having short sleeves wherein said shirt is configured to only thermally insulate the user's torso, said shirt having a body, a neckband and a pair of sleeve cuffs, said neckband defining a neck opening in said shirt wherein said neck opening is configured to have the user's neck extended therethrough, said neckband being comprised of an elastic material wherein said neckband is configured to tighten around the user's neck thereby inhibiting body heat from passing between said neckband and the user's neck, each of said sleeve cuffs defining an arm opening in an associated one of said sleeves wherein said arm opening in each of said sleeves is configured to have one of the user's arms extended therethrough, each of said sleeve cuffs being comprised of an elastic material wherein each of said sleeve cuffs is configured to tighten around the user's arm thereby inhibiting body heat from passing between said sleeve cuffs and the user's arms.

    Description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

[0010] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

[0011] FIG. 1 is a front perspective view of a thermally insulated garment assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0012] FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0013] FIG. 3 is a back view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0014] FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0015] FIG. 5 is a front view of an alternative embodiment of the disclosure.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0016] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new insulated garment embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

[0017] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the thermally insulated garment assembly 10 generally comprises a shirt 12 that is comprised of a thermally insulating material to minimize heat transfer between a user 14 and ambient air. The thermally insulating material may be a proprietary thermal material such as Thinsulate or the like, fleece, a mixture of synthetic materials and any textile known to have thermally insulating qualities. The shirt 12 has short sleeves 16 such that the shirt 12 only thermally insulates the user's torso 18. In this way the shirt 12 enhances comfort for the user 14 by reducing arm perspiration when the shirt 12 is worn beneath additional clothing. Moreover, the shirt 12 may be manufactured in a variety of sizes thereby accommodating various sizes of male and female users.

[0018] The shirt 12 has a body 20, a neckband 22 and a pair of sleeve cuffs 23. The neckband 22 defines a neck opening 24 in the shirt 12 and the user's neck 26 is extended through the neck opening 24 when the shirt 12 is worn. The neckband 22 is comprised of an elastic material to tighten around the user's neck 26. In this way the neckband 22 inhibits body heat from passing between the neckband 22 and the user's neck 26.

[0019] Each of the sleeve cuffs 23 defines an arm opening 28 in an associated one of the sleeves 16. Each of the user's arms 30 is extended through the arm opening 28 in the associated sleeves 16. Additionally, each of the sleeve cuffs 23 is comprised of an elastic material wherein to tighten around the user's arms 30. In this way the sleeve cuffs 23 inhibit body heat from passing between the sleeve cuffs 23 and the user's arms 30. In an alternative embodiment 32 as shown in FIG. 5, the neckband 22 may define a v-neck opening and the shirt 12 may be manufactured with no sleeves 16.

[0020] In use, the shirt 12 is selectively worn beneath other articles of clothing or independently to enhance retaining body heat. In this way the shirt 12 helps the user 14 to stay warm in cold conditions such as fall and winter. The short sleeves 16 of the shirt 12 allow the user's arms 30 to release heat thereby reducing arm perspiration. Thus, the shirt 12 allows for greater comfort for users 14 who would be too warm in a long sleeved, thermally insulating shirt.

[0021] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0022] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word comprising is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article a does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
