Abstract
The adapter shaping an electromagnetic field heats toroidal plasma discharge. It is intended for use in plasma torches dedicated for excitation/ionization sources in spectrometers. The adapter includes at least two electromagnetic field shaping elements, which are stretched between the bushing of the upper microwave connection and the bushing of the lower microwave connection. An element shaping electromagnetic field is positioned to the surface pitch of the bushings at an angle ranging from 0 to 90 degrees.
Claims
1. An adapter shaping microwave electromagnetic field so as to heat a toroidal plasma discharge, comprising: at least two electromagnetic field forming elements, which are stretched between the upper bushing of microwave connection and the lower bushing of microwave connection, wherein an element shaping electromagnetic field is positioned to a surface pitch generator of the bushing at an angle ranging from 0 to 90 degrees.
2. The adapter of claim 1, wherein the lower bushing of microwave connection is comprised of a cylindrical external connection.
3. The adapter of claim 1, wherein the upper bushing connection of microwave frequency is fixedly connected to the lower bushing of microwave connection by field shaping elements (1) having the form of mutually parallel and electrically conductive rods.
4. The adapter of claim 3, wherein a rod is bent in the shape of a spiral section.
5. The adapter of claim 1, wherein the upper bushing connection of microwave frequency is connected fixedly to the lower bushing connection of microwaves by field shaping elements being comprised of ring washers mutually parallel and separated by dielectric spacers.
6. The adapter of claim 1, wherein the electromagnetic field shaping elements, mounted and stretched between the upper bushing connection of microwaves and the lower bushing connection of microwaves are formed from a tube and curved, using the technique of cutting the field shaping elements.

The adapter of claim 1, wherein the elements shaping the electromagnetic field stretched between the upper bushing connection of microwaves and the lower bushing connection of microwaves, as well as the bushings are fabricated on the surface of the dielectric cylinder as a metal layer by applying the technique of metallization.
8. The adapter of claim 1, wherein vertical slots are fabricated in the bushes between the field shaping elements.

Example 1

The four elements are positioned at an angle of 0 degrees to the bushing surface pitch generator 2, 3. In this embodiment, the electromagnetic field-forming elements 1 appear as mutually parallel electrical conductive rods (wires).
