Abstract
A sliding action for riles having an upper and a lower receiver in which the firing mechanism is totally installed OEM in the lower receiver, including a disconnector mechanism, and is fed by magazine. The OME gas operating system is removed, thus eliminating the semi-automatic mode feature, and substitutes the operating system by a Slide Action assembly having a kinematic chain of individually joint parts, which when assembled establish a solid array with one degree of freedom as a whole, and moving reciprocatingly along a path parallel to the barrel. The invention incorporates a structural guiding tube and supports to prevent buckling of the chain; a handguard; a sliding mobile forend with a polygonal open concave, symmetrical shape incorporating the guides for the sliding mobile forend. An external locking mechanism, installed in the forend locks the Slide Action against the grounded handguard. A driver clamp connects externally the Sliding chain.

5: The Array of Mechanisms of claim 4 is cinematic linkage or chain, organized in an assambleable/disassembleable manner, lineally sliding along separate parallel axes, grounded to guiding external structures, alternating between a most forward position and a most rearward position, and wherein, the array operationally connects the Bolt Carrier (13) inside the upper receiver to the exteriorly located manually actuated Forend (95) and the Lock Action Locking Lever Arm (96) to cycle the rifle.
6: The External Manually Slide Forward and Rearwards Action of the Rifle of claim 4, wherein, the Bolt Carrier moves between the most forward and the most rearwards positions to eject a spent casing and to load a live round into the barrel chamber at the only impulse of the exterior manual action of a shooter's hand acting over an exterior Forend (95) operationally connected to said Bolt Carrier.
7: The Internal Sliding Action Subassembly of claim 4 comprises a Cinematic Chain which moves internally inside the Upper Receiver and inside the External Structural Supporting Tube (70), and wherein, the components of the cinematic chain are depicted by reference in FIG. 7A.
8: The External Sliding Action Subassembly of claim 4 comprises a cinematic chain which moves linearly only, externally, along the Main Structural Grounded Stationary Hand Guard (94).
9: The Complete Sliding Action Train of claim 4 is the functional connection of the Internal Sliding Action Subassembly with the External Sliding Action Subassembly, and that functional operability is provided by the exteriorly assembleable/disassembleable Connecting Post (97) as depicted by reference in FIG. 11A, FIG. 11B, and FIG. 12.
10: The exterior Supports of claim 4 comprising: The External Tube and Structure Support Adapting Ring Plate (10); and the One Piece Block Support (61), are ancillary links externally affixed to the Upper Receiver of known art, and to the Barrel of known art respectively without requiring modification of the parts to which they affix, and provide ground and alignment to The External Structural Supporting Tube (70), and to; The External Stationary Structural Hand Guard (94).
11: The External Structural Supporting Tube (70), of claim 4 is a guiding and protective external ground to abut the driver (31) in its linear non rotational motion, and to serve as eventual reinforcement support to the slender Rod Actuator (80) to prevent a Bending and Buckling occurrence.
12: The External Stationary Structural Handguard (94) of claim 4 is a multifunctional part of the Array of Mechanisms being Grounded, fully constrained, serving as support, ground and channel guiding structure, mounted on at least two grounded supports (10) and (61) of claim 4, providing solid mobile rigidity to enable the linear non rotational motion of the External Sliding Action Subassembly (95), as depicted by reference in FIG. 11, and wherein the hand guard (94), having an open polygonal concave corrugated sectional shape, is placed axially parallel to the axis of the barrel (14A), partially encasing said barrel, like a protective barrier, and disconnected from said barrel, to assist the barrel heat dissipation, as depicted by reference in FIG. 10A, and wherein; said hand guard (94), has stamped embossed in its exterior surface at least a set of stationary Channel Guide (94 A); and at least one Stationary Through Cut Window (94B) in said channel guide, which is a necessary feature for the Locking Action happening.
13: The External Sliding Handguard or the Mobile Forend (95) of claim 4 is configured in a larger scaled up aspect proportion to exteriorly Fit the external contour of the sectional shape of (94), and slide along said External Stationary Structural Handguard, and wherein, the Mobile Forend (95) provides ground for the Manual grabbing of the Shooter's Hand to receive the alternating input Motion and Force, parallel to the barrel, necessary to cycle the ergonomically designed rifle, and wherein, its proportion is of the similar shape open polygonal concave corrugated sectional shape, to fit externally slidingly movable in the Exterior of said Structural Grounded Stationary Hand Guard (94), as depicted by reference in FIG. 8, FIG. 8A, FIG. 9, FIG. 10 and subsequent related for. example, and wherein, the Forend has stamped embossed in its exterior surface at least a set of stationary Channel Guide (95 A); and at least one Mobile Through Cut Window (95B) in said channel guide, which is a necessary feature for the Locking Action Happening, and wherein, said channel guide is configured to slide along the channel guide (94A) of the stationary handguard (94), and wherein, the External Sliding Handguard (95) is configured to have a linear non rotational motion, alternating between a most forward position and a most rearward position only, at the sole impulse of an external shooter's hand force, and wherein, said mobile Handguard or Mobile Forend (95) serves as ground and stationary support and housing to; an External to the Receiver Locking Action Assembly Mechanism (96) as depicted by reference in FIG. 10, FIG. 8, FIG. 8A and others.
14: The Window Cuts of claim 4, being The Stationary Window Cut (94B), and Mobile Window Cut (95B), overlap in position dimension and shape only when the Forend (95) is in the most forward position, and the Rifle is in battery In the most forward position, as a unique. and necessary condition to be disposed to be simultaneously penetrated transversally by the spring loaded Intrusive Lug (96F) to cause the Total Motion Locking of the Complete Sliding Action Train, an action which occurs automatically at the Force of the Spring (96D).
15: The Locking Release Action of claim 4 causes the Intrusive Lug (96F) to retract from the simultaneous intrusion into the Static Window Cut (94B), and into the Mobile Window Cut (95B), wherein said, the retraction of the Intrusive Lug obeys in response to the force applied by the Shooter's hand over the External Lock Action Release Push Button (96E).
16: The Multifunctional Sectional Shape of the Structural Stationary Handguard (94) of claim 4, is a multi-segment open polygonal concave corrugated line partially encasing the barrel, without contacting it, like a protective barrier conveys high structural strength to both of the telescopic fitting parts, the Handguard (94) and the Forend (95) as depicted by reference in FIG. 8, FIG. 8A, FIG. 10, FIG. 10A, wherein, said multifunctional sectional shape allows, barrel protection, hand protection, ergonomic grabbing, heat ventilation and to providing ground and support for the linear constrained sliding motion of the External Sliding Action Subassembly.
17: The Push-Pull Rod Actuator of claim 4 being an elongated link disposed to be Clamped and Pinned to transmit linear motion and impulse and to receive Cylindrical Rings (80C), wherein said Rod has a flat cylindrical front and constitutes a unitary piece integrated with a Bolt Carrier Bar Coupler (13 a) at the rear.
18: The Driver link (31) of claim 4 receives Motion and Impulse from the External Sliding Action Subassembly and transmits, said Motion and Impulse, to the Internal Sliding Action Subassembly, by displacing, linearly abutted, inside the Structural Supporting Tube (70), and being a multifunction link with several nodes disposed externally and internally with surfaces to serve as housing and ground to: a Clamp and Pin array of parts to capture in a dual securing way the Push-Pull Rod Actuator (80), and wherein, the Driver has an External Lateral Projection Plate (31A), having a Through Hole (31B) disposed to receive vertically the Connector Post (97), and also, said Plate receives, and provides threaded ground to the Clamping and Pinning Screw (31D), placed perpendicularly to the axis of the Rod Actuator (68) as depicted by reference in FIGS. (14), (15), (18), (18A), (19).
19: The External to the Receiver Locking Lever Arm (96) of claim 4 is accommodated in the external depression of the Channel Guide (95A) of the mobile Forend (95) to be grounded to it by the Pivot Pin (96C), and allowed to rotate a few degrees about said Pin, and wherein, the Locking Lever Arm rotation is manually controlled to perform a locking release action, and wherein, a compression Spring (96D) is trapped acting over the Lever Arm and the Channel guide (95A), as depicted by reference in FIG. (10), FIG. 11).
20: The External Connecting Post (97) of claim 4 Externally connects the Sliding Link Chain, conforming The Internal Sliding Action Subassembly, with The External Sliding Action Subassembly which slides along different axes, both parallel to the axis of the barrel by inserting vertically in the holes (96B) of the Lock Action Locking Lever Arm, and hole (31B) of the External Lateral Projection Plate.
21: The Entrapping Technique of claim 4 to keep the Pivot Pin (97C) remaining imprisoned, encapsulated in a Two Holes (96C) nodes within the External Sliding Mobile Forend (95), and in cooperation with the Channel Guide (94 A) of the External Stationary Structural Hand Guard (94), while the External Sliding Forend (95) slides along said Stationary Channel Guide (94A), and wherein, said Pivot Pin (96C) becomes ground in cooperation with the horizontal parallel sides of the channel guide (94 A), to allow the pivoting of the External to the Receiver Lock Action Locking Lever Arm (96) mechanism, as depicted by reference in FIG. 10, FIG. 10A, FIG. 11B, thus incorporating and grounding the Locking Lever Mechanism into the External Sliding Action Subassembly as depicted by reference in FIG. 10, FIG. 10A, and wherein said Technique rests on the Corrugated Shapes of the Stationary Structural Handguard (94) and the corresponding shape of the Forend (95).
22: The Technique of claim 4 to avoid the Bending and Buckling of the Rod Actuator (80) by affixing to it A Number of Cylindrical Rings (81C) to interact with the Structural Tube Inner Wall (70E) when The Push Pull Bar (80) is axially loaded with a big axial force, so that the slightest initial deviation Bending of the slender Actuator Bar relative to the axis (68) will cause the exterior of the rings to move towards the Internal Wall of the Tube 70(E) and glide through it reinforced by the Structural Tube support contact without any further Bending, and subsequent Buckling stage.

The Main Objective is to Create an External to the Receiver Locking Action Mechanism.

[0212] In the past it was frequently observed that the element connecting the movable forend Slider with the bolt carrier, often bent while pulling back strongly to eject an expanded or partially locked shell. Sometimes the connecting rod broke or drastically bent in the form of sudden Buckling.
One Fulfilled Goal is to Avoid Buckling and Bending.

[0214] Buckling and bending may be present in the failure of a bar when loaded axially like a column, such as the case of the push-pull rod part number (80). In all previous Slide Action used in the past, especially when the ratio bar diameter/bar length is very small, sometimes the bars or plates presented Buckling.

All previous patented pump action mechanism arrays have the locking action parts and motion housed inside the firearm receivers, normally close to the trigger and is disposed in a manner where the exterior lever to unlock the pump action is performed by the same hand which controls the trigger (the controlling hand).
