Floor Protection Assembly

Abstract

A floor protection assembly for protecting a floor in the bathroom from urine includes a mat that may be positioned on a floor thereby facilitating the mat to be aligned with a urinal. In this way the mat absorbs urine spilled from users of the urinal. The mat has deodorizing properties to reduce odors from the urine. An adhesive layer is coupled to the mat to adhesively engage the floor thereby retaining the mat in a selected position on the floor.

Claims

1. A floor protection assembly being configured to absorb urine, said assembly comprising: a mat, said mat being constructed of a fluid absorbent material wherein said mat is configured to absorb urine, said mat being configured to be positioned on a floor thereby facilitating said mat to be aligned with a urinal such that said mat absorbs the urine spilled from users of the urinal, said mat having deodorizing properties wherein said mat is configured to reduce odors from the urine; and an adhesive layer being coupled directly to said mat wherein said adhesive layer is configured to adhesively engage the floor thereby retaining said mat in a selected position on the floor.

3. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein: said mat has a first surface and a second surface; and said adhesive layer being positioned on said second surface of said mat, said adhesive layer completely covering said second surface.

4. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising a chemical sanitizer being infused into said mat wherein said chemical sanitizer is configured to sanitize the urine.

5. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising a chemical deodorant being infused into said mat wherein said chemical deodorant is configured to eliminate odors associated with the urine.

6. A floor protection assembly being configured to absorb urine, said assembly comprising: a mat being configured to be positioned on a floor thereby facilitating said mat to be aligned with a urinal, said mat being constructed of a fluid absorbent material wherein said mat is configured to absorb urine spilled by users of the urinal, said mat having deodorizing properties wherein said mat is configured to reduce odors from the urine, said mat having a first surface and a second surface; an adhesive layer being coupled directly to said mat wherein said adhesive layer is configured to adhesively engage the floor thereby retaining said mat in a selected position on the floor, said adhesive layer being positioned on said second surface of said mat, said adhesive layer completely covering said second surface; a chemical sanitizer being infused into said mat wherein said chemical sanitizer is configured to sanitize the urine; and a chemical deodorant being infused into said mat wherein said chemical deodorant is configured to eliminate odors associated with the urine.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0017] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new protection device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

[0018] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the floor protection assembly 10 generally comprises a mat 12 that may be positioned on a floor 14 thereby facilitating the mat 12 to be aligned with a urinal 16. The mat 12 is comprised of a fluid absorbent material to absorb urine spilled from users of the urinal 16. The urinal 16 may be a urinal 16 in a bathroom located in a commercial environment, such as a restaurant or the like. The mat 12 has deodorizing properties to reduce odors associated with the urine. The mat 12 has a first surface 18, a second surface 20 and a peripheral edge 22 extending therebetween. The second surface 20 abuts the floor 14 when the mat 12 is positioned on the floor 14. Moreover, the peripheral edge 22 slopes downwardly between the first surface 18 and the second surface 20 thereby reducing a tripping hazard associated with the peripheral edge 22.

[0019] An adhesive layer 24 is provided and the adhesive layer 24 is coupled to the mat 12. The adhesive layer 24 adhesively engages the floor 14 thereby retaining the mat 12 in a selected position on the floor 14. The adhesive layer 24 is positioned on the second surface 20 of the mat 12 and the adhesive layer 24 completely covers the second surface 20. The adhesive layer 24 may be comprised of a single use, non-residual adhesive or the like. In an alternative embodiment 25 as shown in FIG. 5, the peripheral edge 22 may have a first side 26 and a second side 28. The second side 28 may be concavely arcuate with respect to the first side 26. Additionally, the first side 26 may have a slot 30 extending toward the second side 28 for receiving a base 32 of a toilet 34.

[0020] A chemical sanitizer 36 is infused into the mat 12 to sanitize the urine. The chemical sanitizer 36 may be a liquid sanitizer of any conventional design that is capable of killing bacteria and viruses. A chemical sanitizer 36 is infused into the mat 12 to eliminate odors associated with the urine. Additionally, the chemical sanitizer 36 may be an industrial sanitizer approved for use in a food preparation environment. The chemical deodorant 38 may be a liquid deodorant of any conventional design that is capable of eliminating odors associated with urine. Additionally, the chemical deodorant 38 may be an industrial deodorant approved for use in a food preparation environment.

[0021] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
