Abstract
A new and distinct cultivar of Penstemon plant characterized by dark green leaves, tinted purple with winter temperatures, lavender to violet flowers, short, a compact, upright and well branched habit, attractive deep purple seed heads, and excellent vigor.

(3) The following is a detailed description of the new Penstemon cultivar based on observations of eight-month-old specimens grown outside in the trial field in full sun in Canby, Oreg. in August. Canby is Zone 8 on the USDA Hardiness map. Temperatures range from a high of 95 F. in August to an average of 32 F. in January. Normal rainfall in Canby is 42.8 inches per year. The color descriptions are all based on The Royal Horticultural Society Colour Chart, 5.sup.th edition, 2007. Plant: Type.Herbaceous perennial, semi-evergreen (evergreen in USDA Zone 8). Form.Upright, basal clump, with 6 to 8 leafy flowering stems from base. Size.Grows to 50 cm wide and 53 cm tall to top of inflorescence. Crown count number.15.
