Abstract
A device and method for monitoring and tracking the body movement of a user performing regular exercises such as squat is disclosed. The device for monitoring and tracking the body movement comprises a thigh strap, a housing and a printed circuit board. The printed circuit boards attached with the thigh straps comprises an actuating device, an accelerometer, a communication link, a power source, a processor, an USB connector, and an alerting device. The device senses accurate squat position and indicate with an audible beep, LED display, or it can be switched to a vibration mode. The device is configured to hold the legs and indicate the accurate squat position. The device could also connected to various other devices via Bluetooth linking technology.
Claims
1. A perfect squat Comprising: Constructed of durable straps that wrap completely around the legs at approximately mid-thigh. The Leg straps are fully adjustable to fit a variety leg sizes and have a comfortable fit. The leg straps are connected to each other by a center strap in order to hold the legs parallel. The center strap is also adjustable for different sizes. Will hold the legs in an accurate arrangement and a indicate when the perfect squat is achieved
2. The perfect squat of claim 1, further an electronic squat indicator is attached to one of the leg straps. The indicator measures the angle the legs have traveled utilizing an internal gyroscope. When performing a squat exercise while wearing the Perfect Squat the product will indicate when 90 degrees is achieved either by indicating with an audible vibration mode is perfect for those who wear headphones or not wishing to disturb other people.
3. The perfect squat of claim 2, wherein the connectivity of smartphone apps is also available as well as Bluetooth linking technology. Improves precision of squat exercise, audio signal and LED response, vibration mode produces silent operation, promotes correct target exercise, Internal gyroscope detects 90 degrees movement, counts repetitions during exercise, & worn easily and keeps legs parallel.
4. The Perfect Squat of claim 1, further The squat indicator measures the angle your legs have traversed using an internal gyroscope. Once 90 degrees is achieved the box indicates via either a beep and LED, or a small vibration for those who want to listen to headphones or not disturb others. Also, equipped with a digital counter and connects via bluetooth to your smartphone. The counter can connect via bluetooth to your smartphone an app will be developed to track progress and goals. Also, this would allow the possibility of sharing your squat progress on social media should you so choose.
5. The Perfect Squat of claim 3, wherein in use the two bands are placed on the user's thigh's and gently tightened using the hook and loop (H&L) fasteners. Then the side release buckle is snapped to the receiver on the opposite leg strap and the desired separation is adjusted using the woven nylon strap.
6. The Perfect Squat of claim 1, wherein at the end of the set, the wearer presses the reset button and the display is reset to zero for the next set. At end of the exercise period, the user turns the unit off and all counters and angle readings are reset to zero. The controller is powered with 4 AA replaceable batteries, which are reached though the battery hatches on the end of the device. A USB port is provided to allow program upgrades as they become available.

The perfect squat of claim 1, wherein the plastic is very durable, is highly resistant to drop shocks, is highly resistance to household and gymnasium chemical, is easy to clean, and is typically used in this type of application. 2 sections snap together to protect the electronics and are retained using stainless steel fasteners. The assembled and tested housing is secured using aluminum rivets.

The perfect squat of claim 1, wherein the circuit board is designed to have all the components oriented so they can be mounted with the LED illuminators projecting out of the lenses mounted in the housings. After assembly, the PCB's are protected with a moisture adsorption prevention conformal coating. The circuit board will contain, but not be limited to, the following components. Power and rest switches, Accelerometer/gyroscope, Bluetooth communication link, Replaceable batteries, Microcontroller chip, USB connector, Digital display, Vibration motor, Alert Power and Perfect LED's, Speaker.
9. The perfect squat of claim 4, wherein the 600 denier nylon fabric is cut to width and then edging is sewn on to make finished edge all around the strap. The molded nylon strap retainer is sewn to the leg band using a 1 wide woven nylon strap. 2 leg straps can be unbuckled to slow the user to move freely when between sets or putting the bands on the legs. The controller uses LED's, sound ad vibration to guide the user to the optimum benefit from the exercise without putting exercise without putting excessive stress on the knee or hip joints
10. The perfect squat of claim 1, wherein the accelerometer/gyroscope chip measures the angle of leg and alerts the user when the traveled angle equals 90 degrees. The speaker emits a tine when 90 degrees is reached and can be programmed to speak encouraging phrases if desired.
11. The perfect squat of claim 1, wherein the switches control the operation & reset the count at the end of each set. The top LED comes on when the system is turned on & the other comes on with the tone & vibration alert when the exercise is performed correctly. The housing is molded from durable plastic & is curved to fit the leg conformation. The accelerometer/gyroscope chip measures the angle of the leg & alerts the user when the traveled angel equals 90 degrees. The speaker emits a tone when 90 degrees is reached & can be programmed to speak encouraging phrases if desired. The battery hatches & the USB connector are located on the end by the LC display.

[0030] In one embodiment, the housing 102 for controller are injection molded from polycarbonate plastic. This plastic is very durable, is highly resistant to drop shocks, household and gymnasium chemicals, which is also easy to clean. The housing 102 can be supplied in almost any vibrant color, so a distinctive color may be chosen to enhance the product recognition factor, which can dramatically improve the market adoption of the product. The housing 102 comprises two sections, which could snap together to protect the electronics, and retained using stainless steel fasteners. [0032] In an embodiment, the digital display 122 is a liquid crystal device with a backlight and a monochromatic display. The pixilated display 122 can display up to 999, which should encompass even the most dedicated exerciser's capabilities. In one embodiment, vibration motor is an offset weighted DC motor. It operates at 11,000 RPM and creates a very distinctive vibration, which is transmitted directly to the outer thigh when the optimum angle is obtained.
